Tue Apr 01 2008I bought this game quite a few years ago. I installed it once again about 2 months ago and it was just as awesome as I remembered. I seriously wish someone would make a new game just like this. It's the best meld of FPS and RTS (both of which I love to play) that I've ever seen. It's getting more difficult to use since it's no longer technically supported. It's funny, I bought this game when I had a voodoo 5 and a 300 3d mark score. It still ran pretty well. Now I've got about a 13,000 and it makes little difference. I still like playing a 10 year old game! Please, some developer, if you're reading this PLEASE MAKE A NEW VERSION OF BATTLEZONE!

Mon Mar 05 2007I first played this game in 2000, a few years after it came out. Since then, I have played countless newer, more advanced and supposedly "better" games. I can say without a doubt, this is the best video game I have ever played, and my favorite of all time. If you're looking for a game to get into because you've become bored with newer, modern games that suck up your system resources and have such simplistic objectives that it takes practically no brain power to get through them, buy this game. Within the first hour of playing it, you will be hooked, and you will understand what we Battlezone fans mean when we say it's the best game we have ever played. This game is as close to perfect as one can get.

Wed Jan 24 2007This is the only game that is this old that I keep on playing, over and over again. The amount of depth, strategy, and replay value in this title is unparalleled. It is not a stretch to easily call it the greatest game ever made. This game combines a first-person shooter with real-time strategy across a number of different planets and moon in the solar system. An enthralling science fiction story sets the backdrop for what is, at heart, an action shooter; you build bases, collect resources ("bio-metal" scrap), build a huge number of different units, and take them into battle. The real gem in this game, beside the sheer number of units and weapons (at least 30 units and 30 weapons, probably some more), is the variety of the game. In one mission you'll be stealing an alien relic from the Soviets on Mars. In another you'll be destroying Soviet artillery on Venus. In another you'll snipe a Soviet fighter pilot, steal his vehicle, and tap into their communication netowrk on Europ... Read more

Tue Aug 01 2006I only like playing online but I can't anymore because no one plays. It's a great game though. Being able to snipe when out of your ship is sweet.

Thu Jul 27 2006I remember playing this game in 1998. What a blast it was, and still is. Gameplay is very fluid and holds your attention completely. The interfacing of the game is impeccible. It may seem overwhelming to a beginner but once you've mastered it you rule the world. Well, the Battlezone world. Once you're hooked, this game will put a spell on you that rocks you to the core. It get into your veins. It's hard to explain, but it's as if you have an emotional bond with the game. When memories of the game come to mind I have this craving to play. Battlezone is like an old friend that never betrays you. The online community was huge, but now I can't even find a working server.dat file. In the old days of MP, servers were polluted with sleazy Notepad hacker wannabes. It was almost impossible to finish a game, or find a decent one. If you were lucky enough to get a good group of people, then you had to deal with the video cards du jour and their inadequate cooling. Many games, I would get ... Read more
