The Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever made!

Didn't the Carroll County Kid live in an apartment above Battmann's Delicatesan for a few months?

Batman won't kill any criminals, no matter how crazy they are, no matter how many times they've escaped, no matter how many of his friends they've killed. The more violent heroes of the 90's didn't have this problem, but they also SUCKED.

Despite the fact being an minor age-old film, it still stands out and impresses many recent generations that are more into comic books and etc. Everything was original, contents were fine, I can compare this to Superman and I say this disputes the film's summary, by having more adventurous scenes rather than just watching a guy flying straight up the sky to space, though even Superman has it's originality and high superiority in some aspects.

I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid. Years later, I saw a show on syndication and about wet myself laughing. The corny dialogue, the campy characters, the great "guest artists" who were obviously having a great time. The episode I saw (after many years) had Robin tossed off the roof of a building by Frank Gorshin (the Riddler). Batman (the delightfully deadpan Adam West) throws a "batrang" down to Robin, who catches it in his teeth (his hands were tied) and Batman hauls him back up to the roof. The dialogue went something like this: "Holy (something) Batman! I thought I was a goner!" "Yes, Robin. Now you understand the importance of proper dental hygiene!" "Gosh yes, Batman! I'm going to make sure I brush my teeth EVERY day from now on!" I guess Adam West's very odd humor is an acquired taste, but I think he's funny as hell. I didn't read the comic as a kid,and I thought the movie sucked horse shit.I DID like the TV series,though.I watched it as a kid,and even now it's high camp.The villains were the best part,especially Eartha Kitt as Catwoman.

I'm Batman. Just kidding, no serious, neah just kidding really. Batman is a superhero without any powers which makes him the superhero most people want to be as it's believable that someone could be like him. What make's Batman such a cool character is the depth of his character, and the reasons for which he fights.

The pure fact that batman is a freakin NINJA makes this so much more badass. They really made this film dark / gloomy.. Everything about this movie clicked and made the setup for the 2nd movie oh so much better ;)

Campy, silly and stupid.  Adam West was the epitome of over-acting, as was his side-kick Burt Ward.  The show was a comic book story on steroids, with characters too much like clowns to of any real threat to anyone.  The menace wasn't there.

Good movie. I like this one cause it tell you how everything began, hence the name.

My personal favourite superhero, the most intruiging and interesting of them all. He unlike most of his fellow superheros has no powers, which makes him even more interesting, he is just an ordinary guy many of you have said but is he really that normal? Think about it he takes the law in his own hands what type of man does that? Yes I am aware that all superheros do that thats the whole premise, however the others are born with or aquire their super powers giving them a moral obligation to use their powers for the betterment of society, mankind, blah blah all that cliche stuff. So with Batman having no super powers of any kind he has no such obligation, he seeks it out, mostly motivated by the death of his parents. He has so much potential but who decided to create a superhero with no powers!?!! He's so boring to me cuz he's not really a superhero he's just some crazy-ass with a chip on his shoulder who decided to dress up like the animal he was most afraid of and play a super-charged version of cops and robbers.

And as I grew up...I realized Batman is more my style

He's good, but I don't beleive he's a "super" hero. to be a "super" hero, don't you need "super powers"? He's a terrific crime fighter, and I do like him, so I give him a 3 because he's just a hero, not a "super" hero

A brilliant detective...a spectacular athlete...a scientific & technological genius...a nightmare to villains...and oh yeah--doesn't hurt to be a BILLIONAIRE...He has my number 1 spot always.

While some versions of Batman have been less than spectacular, the overall premise makes for one of the best superheroes out there.

It was O.K. but the picture was so dark it was hard to tell what was going on in much of the film. I felt like I needed to jack up the contrast.

Great action combined with a film that went deep inside the mind of Batman/Bruce Wayne. This was much better than the cartoonish Batman's of the 90's.

One of my favorite movies of all-time. Completely changed my opinion on Batman. Far away the greatest superhero movie EVER. Christian Bale is amazing as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The rest of the cast is incredible...Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, Liam Neeson, Ken Watanabe, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman...wow. YOU GOTTA LOVE IT. Oh yeah and Christopher Nolan is an absolute GENIUS. And that car chase sequence is INSANE.

too young to know what camp was all about and took it seriously. much preferred the villans to the paunchy geek heroes. catwoman and riddler where the best. caesar romero should have shaved his moustache - looked weird under the joker facepaint.

This one and the original 1989 film were good. The rest, garbage aimed at an 8 year old audience.

First, I could not watch ONE of the previous Batman movies, I watched about 20 minutes of each and just turned them off, they were horrible IMO.   But this movie was EXCELLENT!  The best by far.  It actually had a story behind it and you actually started caring for Batman as a person, no small thanks to Bale as an actor, he was excellent, and hot too--LOL  The story was a bit more grim and gritty than the others which were more cartoonish.   I think Bale is a rather under-rated actor, maybe because he is so handsome, but he can act very well and I was glad to hear he has started shooting another Batman movie.   I hope Katie Holmes is left out of the next movie as she was the only weak point in this movie, she looked way too young and just did not have the acting chops the rest of the cast did.

I give it 5 stars for ultimate hilarity to be laughed at not with. I almost suspect that they had ants in their pants the whole time. Batman really gave morality a bad name with that type of dialog and I have only seen one of them as a rerun. Being born in 1988 makes it a bit hard to be part of that generation. I really think they would be better off in a sumo wrestling show getting their scrawny selves sat on. All in all I found it quite disturbing that that kind of acting is possible. lol I am currently making fun of many super heroes on www.cleanfunnyjoke.com in the entertainment section. rofl for that. lol

The Saving of the franchise. Did Bates do it? Well, it was a good prequel to the series/movies, and was well executed by Bates through his acting. Action packed, super hero living, and the usual nice DC Comics infused storyline money can buy. I just hope the producers keep producing well done films like this, specially for the fans of the caped crusader.

Christian Bale does an  excellent job in bring Batman to life for a younger generation.  Definately a great movie and comparable if not better than the earlier movies.  Deeper plot than earlier titles and (finally) a real life account of Bruce Wayne's history.

Great story, excellent acting, but the cinematography during the action scenes made me feel disoriented and, at times, sick.

They finally made good a Batman again.

Great film. I got bored in a couple parts, but not for long. Overall I would say it's far above average, but not quite perfect.
