Bass Ale

Smooth, clean, crisp..awe goes down nicely.

Solid Beer, not the best on the market but it gets an Extra star for it's availability. It is nice and full flavored, low carbonation and easy to drink.

Bass is not stellar, but it is a high-quality English ale. I prefer it in a "Black and Tan," which is a mix of Guinness Stout and Bass Ale. However, I have to say that I like a "Half and Half," which is a mix of Guinness Stout and Harp Lager even better than a Black and Tan. It is a matter of personal preference. I tend to prefer lagers to ales

A fine dark English Ale. Under-stated and lower in carbonation than American beers. Big, full toasted malt flavor with just the right amount of hops to go with the malt sweetness. Kind of the benchmark for English Ale. Well recommended. (Not for Bud drinkers)

Bass Ale is often the best beer in many restaurants. While it isn't the greatest beer on earth, Bass is still a solid choice in the English Pale Ale department and you could do a lot worse than ordering one over domestic macros. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

A bit too heavy for me, once in a while it works.

Given a choice between a Bass and a Newcastle, I'd take both.

Passable ale, but nothing particularly special. There are many equals on the market, and lots of superior craft brews.

I like Bass, it was the best of the import ales that the local pubs would actually buy draught. It wasn't very popular here and most of them only have it bottled now. Bass draught is distinctively different from bottled.

I've never tried any of these except corona grooooosssss, and coors and bud light

An above-average imported ale.  Widely available and pretty reliable, unlike a lot of imported beers where you might end up with a 'skunky' bottle.

Good beer, but I prefer Harp or Sam Adams to it.

I like the draft variety and it's great for the light beer in a Black and Tan.

This is a pretty dark beer, but not as dark as Guiness. It's good stuff.

One of my favorite British brews.

I consider Bass a dinner beer, paired best with steaks or burgers.

Haven't tried this one yet...or if I had, don't remember it much so an average score :-).

My favorite import. Forget that possible my favorite brew. This tastey pale ale shows you can be light bodied without being watery!! If you haven't tried it do so now!!!!!!

underrated by those who think you cant find a good tasting beer in mass production, it is still one of the best brewed ale's imported. Bass is a great beer, black and tan baby!

Good beer, but not worth the extra money you'll pay to upgrade from one of the cheaper mass produced beers.

Bass Ale is one of those standard bearers that gets mediocre reviews from a lot of people simply because it is available widely and is mass-produced. More for me, I guess. It is consistently one of the most drinkable, satisfying beers around. I prefer bottles to draft in large part because the taste is more consistent. I've tried a lot of beers but always buy a case of Bass to remind me of which one I like the best.

A very nice ESB.  Copper colored (though partially from colorants I believe).  The aroma is nice and balanced and so is the flavor.  Lots of toast in the finish.  May taste flat to American beer drinkers, but English beers often do that.

I took a Jimmy Riddle (well splashed) in a cask of Bass when I worked for Bass Inns and Taverns way back when - I was so drunk trying to change a cask that I fell over and almost peed my kecks so got "it" out and peed into a filter which was actually filtering back slops... This may not be true.... Other than that - nice pint

Guinness is the nectar of the God's, but Bass comes in not too far behind. And of course you can't make a black & tan without Bass. Bass should be rated 4.8 stars.

Simply, thee best ale on the planet IMO. This ale has the best balance of malt and hops on the planet for my palate. This edges Sam Adams in my book, even though I gave that a 5-star rating also. If you want to taste the sweetness, you can. If you want to taste the slight hoppy bitterness, you can. Best to pour this into a glass and watch the frothy head emerge and STAY there, which tells you a good beer is in front of you. Seeing a Bass in the fridge always puts a smile on my face. Cheers to the Brits for making a great ale for 225 plus years.

Terrific 4-star import. . .dark body with a good taste. . .doesn't cause hangovers, either!

In a pinch, Bass Ale is always dependable. There are much better ales on the market.

I tried this once and liked it quite a bit. Unfortunately, it's not easy to find where I live and when I do they only have a token six pack.

Nice,full bodied ale-but overpriced.

The best beer I had in the UK. Drink this icy cold in the UK and you will NEVER go back.
