Tue Jan 22 2008I got a bunch of gift cards to BN over christmas (2007) I decided to spend a good 65 dollars on all the books I could find. Order was sent in on the 3rd. Supposedly shipped out on the 8th. It is the 22nd now. I still have no friggin clue where my books are. Apparently there tracking isn't working. Three weeks. I could have driven to the store over an hour away by now. Nice website, nice store. Now, where the heck are my books!?

Mon Oct 20 2003The Barnes and Noble website is better then most of the stores by the same chain. An excellent selection of books, dvds and videos, and cds and great customer service. I never had any problems with them.

Tue Apr 22 2003Out-of-print book selection is just tremendous. I've been able to track down some books I read as a child thirty years ago that I never thought I'd see again. Thanks to B&N, I can read them to my little boy, now!

Thu May 31 2001I just had an excellent experience ordering from Barnes&Noble.com this morning. I started out at Amazon.com (where I usually buy my books), and then I did some comparison shopping and realized that I'd save quite a bit if I placed my order at B&N. I was surprised to realize that the shopping cart feature was more convenient at B&N, and there was a 1-rate shipping charge of only $4.48. I was able to phone in my credit card number quickly and easily, without having to talk to a customer service representative, which I appreciated. The big test will be seeing how long it takes for my order to arrive. My last two orders from Amazon were very slow to arrive, which was annoying. If my B&N order comes quickly, I might become a regular B&N customer.

Fri Jan 05 2001Barnesandnoble.com is definitely a convient way to buy books, you never have to leave the comfort of your own home. The website offers a great selection at competitive prices. The only drawback is that you better know what you're looking for because you can't skim through it before purchasing it.

Tue Jan 02 2001The selection of books isn't as good as Amazon, but prices are lower. This site delivers books promptly. A lot better than shopping at the store itself because the books always cost less even after shipping and handling is included.

Wed Dec 13 2000They have a good selection, but I have a hard time finding things that are very specific. I lose about two hours out of my day every time I go to their website. I have decided to use another site.

Mon Nov 06 2000Every book you can find on this planet is here. Also, B&N has the preferred reader card which fetches the reader points for every dollar spent on that card. I just got a $10 gift certificate due to the accumulated points.

Tue Oct 03 2000I've used them a couple of times and always found it to be a very pleasant and painless experience. It's so nice to just have your books arrive at your front door all wrapped up like a present! Seeing the UPS guy pull up and getting a package with something that you know you want in it is half the fun.

Fri Jul 14 2000An interesting site with lots of stuff, but when I want a book, I want it now! I don't want to wait a week for it to get here. Sorry.

Sat Jul 08 2000They have an annoying advertisement on my search page, making it sound like they have everything. They didn't have what they claimed to have.

Thu Jul 06 2000What they have in the store is what they have online. I think that's great because some stores don't have that option. Online sites sometimes have much more in stock. I've tried the store online and it works great with excellent service and delivery.

Wed Jun 07 2000Here's an odd fact about Barnesandnoble.com's business strategy. If you want to be a member of their affiliate program, you need to promise not to have any other retailers of books, music, or videos on your site (e.g. Amazon). Given that the commissions that this company pays (around 5-7%) is comparable to Amazon's commission, they have no business demanding exclusivity. I have a hard time believing that any company that would try to pursue a protectionist strategy online really "gets it." My take is that Amazon is going to continue to eat these guys for lunch.

Fri Jan 07 2000They told me that my order would be shipped within 24 hours. Then, 5 days later, I received an e-mail saying my order had JUST been shipped. When I got my order, I looked on the invoice that they had over-charged me $10 AND overcharged the shipping costs! I complained to them, and they admitted they were wrong, but they refused to do anything about it. I had to pay almost $30 for the one cheap paperback book I ordered. :(
