Sat Jul 31 201010 Things I Hate About Fast Food Restaurants 1. The Personal Touch. I think the name FAST food is self explanatory. I’m not looking to make a new friend with the person taking my order. Why is it when I walk into a Baja Fresh and order the nachos grande, the guy at the front prints out a little receipt that says order number #34, and then asks for my name? Confused, I tell him Brian and he gets out a little pen and takes the time to write out my name on the store copy receipt. Then instead of using the efficient, mistake free number system, they call out my name in the middle of a crowded restaurant over a muffled pa system, and the name Brian starts to be mistaken for Ryan, Byron, Myran, Jennifer O’Brien, etc. Not to mention any other Brian’s. You don’t need to know my name and I don’t need to know yours. I’m Mr. Large nachos and a medium soda, and as far as I’m concerned the name on your tag can just say “dude” or “man”. ” Hey dude have they called 134 yet?” ” Not yet they’re on 13... Read more

Sun Nov 22 2009The name says it all... FRESH. The ingredients are very very fresh... no mushy tomatoes, unidentifiable meat, every ingredient looks like it should and kind of reminds me of homemade because it's not like a big concoction of stuff like some places make. They have variety, decent prices, and a huge bar with like 10 different types of sauces and salsas (example, mango salsa) along with little things like limes, cilantro..etc. The rice is amazing, the corn tortillas are so good, every meal comes with pico de gallo, guacamole (sorry spelling), sour cream..etc. You can see into the kitchen so you know what's going on with your food (know its fresh and that they are taking cleanliness into consideration..etc). I don't know why people go to Chipotle when you could go here and get extra fresh stuff with real variety. They are very nice as far as customizing orders go so picky eaters are happy too. I love this place and don't eat spanish food ANYWHERE else now.

Mon Oct 26 2009The mexian guy was coming back from a break and had his finger so far up his nose I thought he was going to poke a hole in his brain. He walked in and started cooking without washing his hands. That was the last time I went to the one in Santa Clara near Lickmill rd

Thu Sep 11 2008on august 26 , 2008 i got take out chicken tostada at baja fresh in corona del mar, ca. 3050 e. coast hwy. taking my second bite in bit into a piece of razor blade. i filed a police report in newport beach the officer took a full report of the incident . since then corporate office has refused my calls and even worse i was referred to "human resourses" ..... i call customer relations . spoke to someone called "kay" refused to give me her last name. no reply. Patricia Bailey of H.R. refuses to return my calls. General Manager - Roberto Rivas at baja fresh in corona del mar referred me to "human Resourses" to take the heat off his hands. since then i have suffered from many sleepless nights of wondering what would have happened if i had swallowed the razor blade.....it makes me sick thinking that i had this forgien object in my mouth. and where did it come from ???? who's hands had it been in????i will never eat at a baja fresh again.....i am taking this to the media. w... Tue Aug 14 2007I agree with numbah--barely fits into the fast food category. Good food but seems overpriced for what you get.

Tue Aug 14 2007Terrible. The beans and rice are usually undercooked. Who wants a crunchy burrito?

Sun Aug 06 2006OK for New England...but the folks in Tucson have places in old burned out fast food shells that serve up better stuff. The Marty McGillicuddies probably think its incredible.

Mon Jun 05 2006The BEST "fast" food I've ever had-hands down! As good or better than many Mexican Restaraunts- very fresh with high quality ingrediants, clean, efficient service and excellent salsa and fixins at the salsa bar. DELICIOUS!

Fri Mar 31 2006Better than Chipolte--they serve Pepsi products and the portions don't make you blow up like a balloon. Great burritos.

Sat Feb 04 2006Darsey10 Baja Fresh is the best fast food chain ever. I moved away from one five months ago. I am still looking for one and guess what I won't rest til I find one. I especially miss their chicken salads and their fresh salsa and other great sauces to put on top of your salad. I can just taste one now. I hope to find Baja Fresh with the help of a few friends.....

Fri Sep 02 2005Great fast-food Mexican chain. Burritos are good, as is just about anything on the menu. Superior to Moe's or Chipotle in my opinion. Unfortunately do not have any near where I live now.

Sun May 22 2005As fast food, it's great. The salsa bar is the real attraction, fresh salsa is so much better than cooked there is no comparison.

Sun May 22 2005Pretty good stuff. Manages to keep it's authenticity, something a lot of chains don't do.

Wed Aug 25 2004I give the chain a 5 based on it being in the fast food category. Why go to a swill burger chain when you could eat a Baja for about the same price? Unfortunately, the local franchise closed.

Wed Jul 14 2004Not quite as good as Chipotle or Qdoba, but it is in no way bad. Their portions are a little smaller than the other 2 places mentioned, but they do have the nice salsa bar to offer customers.
