Generally an underated aircraft. Called the Flying Whore because its wings were so slim in plan that the joke was that it had no means of visible support. Although the B-25 and to some extent the Doughlas A-26 (sometimes mistakenly referred to as the B-26) overshadowed the B-26, nevertheless the Marauder comipled an impressive combat record. There are some amazing stories as to how badly shot-up B-26s managed to make it safely to base with crews intact.
