I can't believe I am recommending a dentist. I have had so much work done that the ADA is most likely going go give me an honorary degree soon. Most of my experiences have been far from great! I went to Dr Samuelian for a chipped tooth and it turned out I needed a root canal. I had a few root canals before, and this by far was the best experience I have had. He also reached out that Sunday to see if I was OK, which I couldn't believe. I wish I could say that was my last visit....the previous dentists I have gone to did a far from stellar job. I had to do that weird smile thing where you don't want to show your teeth because my crowns looked so bad. Turns out they didn't just look bad, they were done wrong. Dr Samuelian had to redo all of them and more. I never dreaded going, he has a great personality and treats you like a person, not just a number sitting in a chair. I have never had to wait, and Michelle in the front is so accommodating with my busy schedule. I will email... Read more

I've been going to Dr. Samuelian for several years--the only years I've not dreaded the experience. Appointments have always been on time--no waiting room marathons--and the cleanings are both quick and thorough. It's a nicely-designed, relaxing, clean, no-hassle office, run by a friendly and efficient office staff. I also feel that the office is well-equipped for modern dentistry, such as allowing the patient to see x-ray images immediately, and giving quick turnaround for devices. In addition to my cleanings, filling replacements and other preventative treatments, Dr. Samuelian also replaced half of my front tooth that broke, and did such a GREAT JOB that nobody can tell! Of course, since I broke my tooth in my sleep, a nightguard followed, with quick molds and custom fitting. Something that felt fairly traumatic was handled with warmth, care and an effective treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Samuelian for anyone who dreads the dentist. For anyone, actually, period.

I've been afraid of dentists my whole life. And not just a little afraid. After having used any and all excuses not to visit a dentist for years, a friend recommended Avo Samuelian to me. Friends had recommended their dentists to me before, but never with so much enthusiasm as in Avo's case. And was I ever glad for this friend's advice! In my opinion, Avo is a very talented and highly skilled dentist. To restore the damage, Avo and his colleagues kindly helped me through root canal procedures and rows of cavities. Without any tear, without pain, while apparently even able to drill away my age-old fear. No small accomplishment! And I definitely have ended up with healthier and clean shining teeth. I can strongly recommend Avo to anybody in need of a dentist or unhappy with their current dentist. His office does not charge any more than other Manhattan dentists, it mainly depends on your insurance. And yes, the office itself looks very nice and the staff is always friendly. Best of al... I was recommended to Avo Samuelean by a friend of mine. Avo is the best dentist I have ever met. He has given me the confidence to smile again. I have always been unhappy with my teeth, so he recommended me to go for veneers. Avo has done an incredible work in such short period of time. Avo is very gentle when he works, always precise, never painful. The result is amazing and very natural. I am more than happy with my new smile. Also Avo has a great welcoming medical office, it actually doesn't look like one. It is filled with contemporary art pieces and there is always great music playing. His team is great and always welcoming. You never wait long and would you have to, you can enjoy the best selection of fashion, design and art magazines ! Avo has reinvented and revamped dentistry with such great talent and humanity.

Being the daughter of a dentist, i am a bit picky when it comes to dental care. And i couldn't recommend Dr. Samuelian more highly. His conservative yet preventative care instills great confidence with each visit because I know he will do what is right and necessary. His technique is gentle (he gives the best shots), thorough (he takes his time), and backed up with an NYU education (he's a smarty pants). The office is state-of -the-art, clean, sophisticated, and always on time. Too bad the visits only come twice a year...

I was nervous when I first heard I had cavities - it being my first time and all. Dr. Avo and his team made the experience totally bearable though. They were incredibly attentive and professional, and I got the sense that he really knew what he was doing. He was ready and prepared to start the procedure as soon as I got to his office. He took his time while shaping the fillings and added extra anesthesia wherever I had too much sensitivity. He talked me through the whole process, calming my nerves and making me laugh from time to time. Also, his office looks like a modern art gallery too. It's pretty neat. When I first walked in I wasn't sure if I was at the dentist or a five-star spa.

I have been to Dr. S's office on more than one occasion for reasons ranging from regular cleanings to repair work. His office space might be one of my favorite offices in the City. The space is light, sleek, and boasts an impressive collection of contemporary art. His assistant and receptionist are sure to put me at ease from the minute I walk in the door. As for Dr. S, you can see that not only does he love what he does, he is genuinely interested in hid patients, his passion for art allows for more conversation than, "I know I should floss more". They have worked with me on a variety of consultation issues they have always been upfront about the costs involved and how much is covered by my insurance. I feel bad that the previous poster had such a non pleasant experience, but all my visits have only solidified that this might be the best care my teeth have ever had.

i went to dr. samulien's office for a cleaning and subsequent filling last month and i wasn't entirely impressed. the offices are spotless, and very well appointed, with vintage furnishings in the waiting room and an art collection distributed throughout the space my cleaning with tiffany went great, and since i work in a gallery, i really wanted to like dr. samuelian. sadly, i didn't. he made no effort what-so-ever to chat with me. no, so what do you do? not even a ho-hum remark on the weather. silence. what really threw me off , and is the main reason i am writing a somewhat negative review, is that during my filling his RECEPTIONIST came to assist him and answered the office phone from a cell phone while helping with my filling. so. very. strange. she is a total doll and i'm sure she was qualified but still! she also told me a procedure would be covered by my insurance when i made my appointment, but when it came time to do it, suddenly not covered at all and $600. it's a great s... Growing up, my dentists were always, old, gray haired men and in gloomy, sad offices. Not the case for Dr. Samualian's. A very nice receptionist greets you, there's art in the walls in an airy open, loft like space and there is cool, new agy music being piped in. I felt more like I was in a lounge than a doctor?s office. I've been there about 10 times and I'm always surprised how calm and cool Dr. S is. He?s relatively young, good-looking, probably late 30s and seems like the kind of guy you could have a drink and hang out with. He has a very relaxed, warm demeanor. For me, he?s put in crowns, done a root canal, and filled cavities. I?m a regular! LOL. He?s great. It?s important for me to cared for by a nice guy who does good work. I definelty recommend him, Brian

Just today, Dr. Samuelian finished remaking my smile. I couldn't be more pleased and excited with the results. I've been dying to get veneers forever, but it's a big, expensive step. I met with a bunch of dentists to talk about doing it, but I always got the feeling that they were bilking me, or that they were going to give me Hilary Duff-esque horse teeth. When I met Dr. S, it was dentist love at first sight. He really cares about his patients, he's passionate about his work, and he's a total pro. His practice gets the little things right, too: the office space is beautiful--almost spa-like--the receptionists are friendly and warm, and the music is Williamsburg-ready. Even the magazines in the waiting room are on point. I don't care if you think you have a great dentist now; Dr. Samuelian is better.

Visiting the dentist can be very unpleasant from the moment you walk through the door until you leave. Dr Samuelian seems to have thought the entire dental experience through and addressed all the profession's common pitfalls. His office is clean and stylish; there are magazines that are recent and interesting. But I rarely get to read for long because his appointments begin so promptly. In the office, he is professional and friendly. He explains the work that needs to be done and your options very well. And no chastising for not flossing. Perhaps most comforting is the fact that I never feel he's out to cheat me or bill me for unnecessary work. Additionally, his thorough knowledge of his field is impressive and reassuring. Dr Samuelian's achievement is making you feel part of the process and that dental work isn't something big and scary that you have no control over.

I only had a cleaning so I can't comment on the quality of significant dental procedures. The cleaning was excellent. The staff is friendly. The office is clean and modern.

Dr. Samuelian is by far the most pleasurable dentist/dental experience I've had. Going to the dentist is not one of my favorite things to do, but my appointments with Dr. Samuelian have been nothing short of fantastic. Upon my arrival to his office, I am always greeted by his very friendly staff; from the receptionist out front to the dental hygienist, not to mention Dr. S. His bedside manner and technique put an apprehensive patient (myself) very much at ease. I have always found his office to be impeccably maintained and very clean, not to mention chic. I would (and have) highly recommended Dr. Samuelian to anyone looking for a dentist. In fact, many of my friends have switched the dentist they had for many years and now see Dr. S exclusively. I did too

When I made my first appointment with Dr. Samuelian, I had not seen a dentist -- out of fear -- for twenty years! The moment I entered Dr. Samuelian's office I felt myself relax. Contemporary art was hanging on the walls. Two friendly assistants greeted me from an open desk (no high counter with sliding glass windows!). The office was clean and modern and soothing. Then, I met Dr. Samuelian. His calm demeanor and friendly confidence reassured me. As he examined my teeth, he discussed the situation in clear, nonthreatening ways. It was a pleasant, painless, positive experience. I write this months after my first visit to Dr. Samuelian. He has restored my teeth and gums to good health. I am amazed that I now look forward to visiting the dentist. Without question, Dr. Samuelian and his staff are the reason!

Avo Samuelian is a really good dentist with the latest and best tools and equiptment. He also is a really kind man and cute too! I used to hate and dread the dentist but not any more since I've been going to Avo.
