I love this place. The set up is really nice and the DJ plays all the top new songs! I go here every Saturday and there's always a good amount of people.

I went their for a First Fridays event which was surprisingly nice since it was New Years Day. I've also been to Avalons Wednesday Happy Hour, which I really enjoy. They sometimes have a live band, always complimentary food, and karaoke. The people are professionals and just come out to unwind after work. I highly recommend Wednesdays for Happy Hour and the First Friday events.

I bought two booths to celebrate a promotion. Everyone had a great time. The DJ played everything we wanted to hear and I was glad there was an outside patio because there were a few smokers in our group. I'd recommend Avalon to anyone!

The new owners have been able to change a lot of things to make an experience from horrible to fantastic. I went to this club about a year ago and hated it, thought Id never go back. but then last month, my boyfriends bestfriend had his bday party there. I had no problems unlike before, had an enjoyable time. I've sent in names for the guestlist every saturday since lol.

My wife just turned thirty and got her degree. We have two kids and never get to go out. We reserved a VIP best booth they had, rented an H2 limo and proceeded to party. We arrived at the club; I got two bottles of Patron and some Grey Goose. We were about to have a great time. During the drive to the club my wife got car sick from sitting sideways for an hour in the limo. Right after we got there she threw up. They kicked her out. She was the guest of honor and so morally we all (fifteen of us) had to leave. They would not let me take the freshly opened bottles and charged me $852 for the booth and the alcohol. AVOID THIS CLUB!!!!!!!!!! Note: It was supposed to be the best booth in the club, view of the dance floor was blocked by a screen. We left and went to a club that cost us $5 to get in and had a great time.

I would never go back to this club. The bouncers take bribes to let minors in the club ($100.00 entry fee)with underage drinking. This club is not for the party crowd. The bouncers are very rude and from the streets. The bouncers try to get really aggressive with the club goers. Music is really bad in this place. Don't waste your time here.

I do not recommend this club for anyone who is looking for a good time. The bartenders (mike) are extremely rude as well as some of the bouncers. The drinks are the smallest and most expensive in town... the owners need to hire all new employees and clean the place up, it's discusting!! Also, what's up with all the fashion shows? totally over rated and completely un-necessary! Upscale club I DON"T THINK SO.

When this placed opened it was the #1 place to go to. They were really strict on the dress code, tried to keep it classy, and at the time had the best outdoor area. What happens to a lot of clubs, is after the hype dies down and people stop coming, clubs get desperate for customers and they lower their standards. This is what has happened to Avalon. The amount of bars is good. The outdoor area is big. But the bathroom is in a HORRIBLE location and there is only 2 stalls in the Womens bathroom. There is no place to sit in the main room. The clothes that people wore shocked me. Some of the tackiest, cheap, stuff I have ever seen. The music is WACK. If you are going to play old stuff have it be stuff that we want to hear, not Baby Got Back. When I showed up I was on the list, I had a friend who knew the promoter. Not to sound like an ego maniac, but if you are on the list you must be a little bit important and should get in no problem. The line for "VIP" was wrapped around the building. H... Read more

AND I'VE NEVER BEEN TO A CLUB AS BAD AS THAT PLACE. THERE WAS NO WERE TO SIT..BESIDES THE SPANISH ROOM, THE DRINKS WERE TO EXSPENSIVE!!... OH YEA AND THE BARTENDER CHARGED MY HUSBAND A $10 TIP, WITHOUT HIM KNOWING..WE FIGURED THAT OUT THIS MORNING. IM NOT GOING TO START ON THE GUEST LIST. SO BE SMART AND RECONSIDER GOING THERE..BECAUSE U WONT HAVE A GOOD TIME.

Max the door man thinks he's the owner of the club and he is only a rent-a-cop. This club is truely the worst club I have ever seen in sacramento and it is everything you read on these comments below. It is true there are some good bouncers and some are just outlandish..They don't even know how to run a V.I.P booth let only know how to treat their guests with respect. If your looking for a good club that has people and bouncers with class and respect the Park is number one. Very upscale decent people. There are plenty of clubs in sacramento that are far better than Avalon. If anyone knows about customer service this place does not know anything about it!! If security is so tight at the door then why would they ask for my friends ID five times. The owner obviously needs to re-evaluate his rent-a-cops. By the way this club is so dumb they turned away Oscar delahoya and Lex Lewis not knowing that they can buy out your club or any club for that matter!! SO FOR THE GUY MAX AT THE FRONT DOOR... This place has the worst bouncers. They look at your id like your going to prison or something and then say it;s not you. Well, if the pic was taken 5-6 years ago, Hello ?! People change...We had the worst night because we got there 10 minutes after guestlist closed and they told us we had to pay $10 each, then told my friend her ID wasn't her and then told me my ID wasn't me. They wanted my friend to go to the cop and have him verify it was her! How embarrassing is that? So, my friend left and me and my other friend finally got in about 12 30. We were already very upset because we were there for almost an hour trying to get in and verify our IDz. The crowd is pretty getto! and the floor is always wet with drinks. I would not recommend this place!!! Go to park or cabana instead!

Hello people, Believe me when I say this is the WORST place to go. No matter if it's the weekend or weekdays. The "rent a cops" are total jerks. You will not get in if you are with more than 3 in a group, guarenteeeeeeed! Drinks are watered down at full price. No place to sit. Service is horrible. Parking is horrible. Inside is very very small (probably holds about 165 people). Lines are way too long. (Especially being a female, and all) they made us wait 30mins before we got in, and when we were inside there was no one!!!!!! Will NEVER recommend this place.

The outside of the building boasts of an "upscale" location, people standing in line at 10:15pm. Once inside, we realized that the establishment was a lot smaller and run down inside. There were people practicing salsa moves and lots of people standing around gawking. We ordered SIX DOLLAR WELL-DRINKS, (tiny little things), THEY WERE TERRIBLE. But when it came time for everybody to dance, I soon regretted joining in. Lots of shoving, hitting, and stepping on. People wanted to "try out" moves, and ended up slamming into me and my friends. No apologies, just dirty looks. To make matters worse, A HORRIBLE SMELL FILLED THE AIR, LIKE RAW SEWAGE. We went to the other dance floor which was very crowded as well, by a much younger age group. When we complained to the guys at the front, they said, "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, YOU CAN LEAVE!" So we did, and outside there were dozens of people waiting to get in, I guess that is why they encouraged us to leave.

I went to Avalon club when hip hop artist Pitbull was performing there. From 10 o'clock on, the club was crackin. Pretty girls (lots of latina's) showed up for the concert in revealing clothes. For men, I must stress that you have to dress to impress for this club. That means button down shirt with collar, nice pants (not too baggy) and formal shoes. MUST HAVE PROPPER SHOES! Parking is $5 next to the club that is handled by a agency. I would drink a little before hand because the drinks are rather small and a little more pricey (about $6 a mixed drink.) Don't order anything with Vodka in it because they use cheap vodka in it (like Popov or Tadka). On concert nights, they pack 'em in so get ready to sweat. Otherwise, great place to dance and meet girls. Inside the club they have nice floors and vibrant lights, something like miami or L.A. would have. I think cover charge is $10 on non-concert nights. Avalon's atmosphere and crowd is great but catch a buz before goin so you don't spend a... Read more

Avalon is a pretty hot new club for Sac. They've got a pretty cool South Beach theme going on. One side has Latin music and salsa dancing and the other side is a big dance club playing current stuff. There's a huge outside area in the back with another bar that's cool as well.

Avalon looks nice, but the management runs it poorly. The drinks are way over priced. The security is mixed, some great, some horrible. There's no place to sit other then VIP lounges, but they treat VIP guests like crap. Much better clubs elsewhere, stay away unless you like being treated poorly and paying for overpriced drinks

A lot of live performers. Not the most popular club in town but it's still attracting quite a few. Needs a lounge area if it's considered "upscale." Arrogant "bay area" knuckle heads shouldn't compare Sacramento clubs to the city because of course they suck compared to the city's nightlife. I recommend this club to people who don't mind standing. Although, sometimes it doesn't feel like a club. More of a showcase with all the lingerie events.

I really enjoy going to Avalon. The atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly but the drinks WAY to expensive......Door price WAY to expensive....Other than that I recommend everyone go there at least one time on one of their Club nights....

As a Bay Area native, Club Avalon doesn't compare to even the WORST clubs in the SF Bay Area. The decor is nice, but the crowd isn't exactly "upscale", which sets the night up for a lot of groping and inappropriate grinding. Drinks are tiny and $6-7 a pop - I wouldn't mind paying that much if it were a normal sized drink, but they really are TINY. The music was alright, but there was a DJ from the Bay Area (Wild 94.9) so it might have been "especially good" that night. I'd hate to see what they'd be playing if it weren't for some Bay Area heads in the house. If this is what you call a good club in Sacramento, I'd hate to see some of the lousier ones. Pathetic.

In Short Decorated with elegant, pleated wall fabrics and chandeliers, the 10,000-foot space offers 20- and 30-something clubbers a classy experience. The main room features a Brazilian cherry-wood dance floor, an elevated area with banquette seating and bottle-serviced spacious booths. Another room houses a curved bar, neon-lit wall panels of liquor and lounge seating. Local and touring bands play live music on some nights, while others feature DJs playing house, rock, salsa, hip-hop and '80s hits.
