Sun Dec 28 2008I will be meeting with Dr. Brinkman for the first time ever this week. I am looking forward to it. Everyone has good or bad days. In fact, an aggressive behavior is one I have to have in fighting the illness in me so that I can survive, so I'd prefer my doctor not be "too nice," but be honest and let me know my real options early on. From reading all the good comments, I'm betting she's a strong, professional person. Any expectation of ANYONE in your life to be perfect is asking for dissapointment. Do your OWN work if you have doubts (i.e. checking your family history, medical records, speak up about any and all strange symptoms) and just do some brain thinking. Consider this as well: there is also the possibility that you were meant to go out a certain way and no matter how caring/good the doctor is, there is nothing that can be done for you. Ladies, early detection/multiple professional exam opinions are important. Dr. Brinkman - I look forward to seeing you Wednesday, with my inform... Read more

Fri Dec 26 2008I am so glad that most of the others posting had better experiences, however I was very disappointed. I found Dr. Brinkman rude, disorganized, and controlling. She did not get records before my appointment as I had arranged with her staff and she had no idea why I was in her office. When I tried to explain the issue and my medical history she acted put off, constantly interupted me, and sent me to wait in the lobby for two hours. At that time she attempted to get me to wait a month to follow up, allowing her time to get records. Since when does it take a month to get records?! My medical issue could not wait this long so I had to insist several times and argue with her and her staff to try to get records. These were from an ER and available same day. When she finally did review my records (later that day) she called at 7pm and wanted to perform surgery ASAP. Oveall I found this doctor opinionated, rude, and very unconcerned with my health. Needless to say I won't be lettin... Read more

Tue Oct 28 2008I too am surprised by the comments left by the couple. Dr. Brinkman has been my ob/gyn for 17 years and I have had three pregancies while under her care. She has been very informative in all instances. I had some complications during my second pregancy and she was there with an answer everytime. I have had nothing but positive experiences with her and have recommended her to friends and family. I am not saying that Dr. Brinkman was negligent in this case but remember that she is human and humans are NOT perfect. keep in mind that you too may also research medicines or symtoms if you are not sure of a doctors decision. The world wide web has lots of info...put it to use!

Wed May 14 2008I, too, am surprised at the allegations/comments about Dr. Brinkman that are listed below. She has been my OB/GYN for over 5 years, and I have had 3 pregnancies under her watch. 2 of my children were delivered by her (1 was an emergency C-Sec when she was not on call) Her bedside manner, expertise, patience and genuine concern for her patients is unmatched. I am forever grateful to Dr. Brinkman for helping me achieve my VBAC. Many doctors are afraid of a VBAC, but Dr. Brinkman encouraged me and answered all of my questions concerning the delivery. I never felt rushed, never felt that I was asking too many questions, never felt belittled for asking potentially stupid questions. I have had other wonderful OBs, but truly Dr. Brinkman has been the best. I never felt like I had a doctor who was managing my care, I felt like I had a partner in my pregnancy. I highly recommend Dr. Brinkman.

Thu Apr 03 2008I have been seeing Dr. Brinkman for 4 years now and she is awesome! Her professionalism, gentle bedside manner and knowledge is unmatched. I have seen many OBGYNs in my lifetime and I have never been happier. She delivered my daughter who was a high-risk pregnancy and she watched me daily, no kidding. She never made me feel stupid when I worried about my pregnancy. Her office is always on time and like others have said here, she never rushes you in and out. She takes as much time as you need. As long as I am in Austin, she will be my doctor!

Wed Feb 27 2008all I can say is I am shocked by the negative comment. everytime I have been to Dr. Brinkman she has always explained things completely almost to my annoyance LOL. She even asked me questions pertaining to what she was talking about (i assume) to make sure I was listening. She was very attentive and I never felt rushed through an appointment. she delivered my last two children. it would be three but, I lived else where. LOL. I just wanted to say I am sorry for all the struggles you and your wife have gone through and I pray that things get better for you.

Tue Mar 06 2007An ARC OB/GYN Diane Brinkman caused irrepairable damage to my wife by not regarding her medical history. LADIES! Please do not take sample meds from any doctor or nurse from this clinic unless that person fully discloses all risk. And by all means research any unfamiliar meds carefully before consuming. 2nd opinion 3rd opinion if you have doubts! Update 070907 My wife is back in the hospital due to complications that this doctor (Brinkman) has caused via her negligence, Her condition is worse and may one day become fatal. Ladies. See this doctor at your own risk.

Sun Oct 16 2005Dr Brinkman is wonderful! She has a great personality, is very compassionate, gentle, and unobtrusive. She offers valuable information, you are her #1 priority when you are in her office and shows that she values your time by keeping her appointments as scheduled. I have NEVER been so pleased with a healthcare provider.
