Tue Apr 08 2008Ok just so people know there is TWO Aunt Chilada's...this one at Squaw Peak, and the one at South Mountain. This one is the original. The one at South Mountain is the one that has bad food and service. I think that some of these reviews are probably about the one at South Mtn. The original AC's is amazing. And if you say that it doenst have authentic Mexican food then you are obviously unaware of what that is. I mean any Mexican food that you get north of the border is not going to be AUTHENTIC...we're in the US not Mexico people. As far as service goes AC's is a hoppin' place with a great vibe and sometimes you have to wait a little while. If your looking for fast food go to Taco Bell or a Bertos. If you're looking for a great place to hang out and have some good food & drinks then this is your place. I personally am driving 850 miles from Denver to come have some good Mexican food. And just b/c you came to AC's on a busy night or on a night where you're server had had a bad day doesn... Read more

Wed Dec 26 2007Nothing special about the food, only been there one time, would never go there again in my lifetime. We were seated in a seperate building (not the one with the bar). There were too many flies buzzing around us and other customers as well, complained to the manager, she was apologized. The food is nothing special, its average or even below average. Definately would not recomend this to any of my friends or family or anyone I know.

Fri Mar 09 2007This is an "OK" mexican food restaurant. I did enjoy my time there, I love reading reviews here to find out what others think about places they have been. I did NOT enjoy the 2 previous reviews that are blatant adertisments from the owners. Maybe they dont believe their establishment will get favorable ratings from their patrons. Anyway, this is an enjoyable mexican food place and a decent place to go. Don't drive out of your way to come here but if you are in the neighborhood stop in.

Tue Sep 05 2006We were "greeted" by a very unpleasant waitress. One member of our party was on an expense account and requested a separate check. She refused to do anything to help him out. The service was poor at best. We ordered a pitcher of margarita, no salt. She came back with salted glasses filled with the drink. She told us that she knew we did not want salt, but the bartender put salt and filled the glasses. She made it very clear that she did not want to mix a new pitcher to fix the mistake. The most insulting part was that since we were a party of 6, the tip was added to our bill, 20%. No wonder the service was so poor, she was getting 20% regardless of the quality of the service. On a more positive note, the food was good (not great, but good).

Sun Jun 18 2006I was the unlucky person that spoke to a "new" employee on the phone who did not specify policies for reserving patio tables for happy hour. I was humiliated when my guests showed up; they'd given away my tables because "someone" changed the reservation to one-half hour earlier (certainly not me!). They claimed they'd waited for us for 45-minutes but no one showed up. That happens when you seat some of the party in the dining room rather than outside! No one offered any apologies nor any alternate options for seating. In fact, the owner told us "grab a table where you can" and did absolutely nothing to help make up for their major shortcomings. I was told, though, that "a regular would understand". If you're not a regular at happy hour, prepare to be treated like a second-class guest at this place. Everyone, new employess and especially the owner need a comprehensive class on guest service - maybe the Pointe can help them. In the meantime, I'll plan parties elsewhere.

Sun Jun 11 2006In Short Aunt Chilada's, located at the Pointe Resort, attracts mostly locals who know where to find the Valley's hot spots. The restaurant and patio are decked out in traditional Mexican decor, and inside someone's always making a fresh batch of tortillas. There are two bars: one is inside with occasional live entertainment; and the other is on a large patio where they serve up plenty of Mexican beer and margaritas. Margaritas come in a variety of flavors, including prickly pear, pineapple and melon.

Sat Apr 29 2006As the title of this review suggests, if you are looking for genuine Mexican food, turn around, get back in your car, and travel about a half-mile south into the town of Guadalupe. If you are afraid of that sort of adventure, then this is the place for you. The food is mediocre with a capital O. This could be a thousand other restaurants in the countryfaux-Mex smothered in canned enchilada sauce, with a hefty helping of Longhorn cheese and beans that have about as much flavor as the water theyre packed in. Mmmmmm mmmmm.. . BAD!

Sun Aug 14 2005A group of us went in on a Sunday afternoon. We asked to sit on the patio and were told we could not due to the weather, (it was 80 degrees and wonderful). However, other groups were sitting there. We were then told that if our server decided to serve us we could sit there. He did not. The food was awful. It was worse than Taco Bell, and it was over priced. The only saving grace was the bartender. He waited on us because our server skipped out. Why anyone would go and subject themselves to this type of treatment is beyond me. Save yourself time and money and drive on by!

Tue Jun 21 2005this place is the best! If you are looking to sit back on a patio after work and enjoy a great margarita you have to come here. Misters, Fountains and good looking proffessionals gather here nightly to unwind after a hard days work. The happy hour food was great and best of all FREE! Friday nights are so wild and crazy my friends and I prefer the laid back atmosphere Wednesday offers. THey had $2 Coronas and a great band, two of the guys from North I believe. I highly recomend and know that I have found my new favorite hideway.

Wed May 18 2005The people that frequent Aunt Chilada's @ Squaw Peak are certainly not fat and ugly! Holy cow! You should have been there on Cinco de Mayo there were 3,000 of the best looking men and women I have ever seen in my life! Friday nights are a small glimpse of that party. Wednesday nights with 2.00 corona's and the wedding we attended there was a slice of heaven. The competition must be writing the reviews.

Tue Jan 21 2003Despite it's mantra that it is a different place than every other Mexican restaurant, this one isn't all that different. They serve the same margaritas, and standard taco, fajita, burrito cuisine that you can find anywhere. The portions are quite large, but there is nothing telling to give this the edge over anything else except the service. The wait staff and hostess were all very attentive and prompt.

Mon Dec 16 2002You won't find a giant neon sign on the corner and you won't see this place in some strip mall. Aunt Chilada's at Squaw Peak hides out across the street from the resort a block in from 16th Street. During the week there is no better place to find an authentic Mexican meal for the whole family. You won't find velveeta and Tostitos here. But when the night has come and the land is dark, everyone comes to Aunt Chiladas to play! Want something to do Wednesday night through Friday night with live music? You had better get here early. Even with five of the bars open indoors and out Friday and the girls making homemade tortillas you will find it hard to stay off the dance floor along with everyone else. Ask for Lance at the Loco bar!

Mon Nov 04 2002I'd have to say the only things I liked about this restaurant was the margaritas and the Outdoor patio. I didn't like the food either of the two times I went. It was too Southwesternish for me and I don't like Mexican/Southwestern tasting food. Their tortilla chips, although different, were HORRIBLE. One or the other but don't mix it. I wouldn't go back unless they had a drink special but I wouldn't order ANY of their food.

Sun Oct 27 2002Food is horrible. It's not even authentic. It's also overpriced for the quality of food. Service was slow on a Sunday evening. Save your time and money.
