Her 15 minutes are up, but I think she was a public punching bag for reasons other than her talent.  She's not the first, last or only person to lip sync on national television, people do it on the Tonight Show and the Late Show all the time.  She got kicked around because she had an embarrassing moment in front of a large audience and because people were tired of teen pop princesses.  As a singer she's not better or worse than most of the crowd fronting rock bands.  For example KT Tunstall, though more talented as a musician and songwriter is really no better a singer.

Ashlee needs to thank her big sister and her stupid reality show every time she gets a pay check for her "music" career.

She belongs at the top. I mean the top of this list. Her sister can't sing either but at least she's eye candy.

What more can I say that hasn't already been said?!?! She can't sing, she is NOT pretty (she looks like a freakin' buzzard), is beyond privileged and is NOT ACCOUNTABLE for her own mistakes (quit blaming everyone else for your lack of talent). Unfortunately, the music industry today is so upside down that the public will probably have to put up with her for a long time. There will always be plenty of impressionable, unintelligent teen girls that will buy crap like Ashlee Simpson...and that is all the record companies need to keep putting out drivel like Ashlee for the public to digest and regurgitate.

Good example of nepotism in the entertainment industry. Ashlee might have some potential, but she simply doesn't have the talent to merit all the acolades that celebrity provides. The whole SNL lip-singing thing has brought her career back down to earth, but its quite telling that to think that it really doesn't take talent to become a celebrity. It's more about being at the right place at the right time, preferably with good promoters at your side.

It's starting to appear as if her so-called career has been nipped in the bud, thanks in large part, I guess, to her f'up on SNL. Which starts me to wondering. If that's what it takes to end the careers of all these ubiquitous no-talents, maybe we can do a collaboration, like the CIA did with the Mafia to nail Castro, and put LSD into Britney's water glass right before she goes onstage, or we can slip Kelly Clarkson 3 or 4 Ecstasy tabs before she gets interviewed by that dullard on MTV whose name escapes me, or we can surreptitiously feed Paris Hilton Angel-Dust before she attends the Fashion Awards premier (actually, scratch that, as she'll probably be doing that anyway)...I suppose it wouldn't work at all, on further consideration. The tastes of the American public have been so blunted that it's doubtful that anything would blast them out of their sheeplike stupor. Still, it is fun to dream...

She looked worse than the Sooners at the Orange Bowl.

Well, looks like I'll be giving the unpopular opinion here... Ashlee has some raw talent. Her problem is she never had to learn how to sing properly. At a point in her career when most singers are still struggling in clubs, she was the headline act at the Orange Bowl. This is, of course, due to the fact that she was basically a product, the sister of a famous singer who was handed a contract and a TV show to start with. Her problem at the Orange Bowl was a mistake due to lack of experience. She took her ear piece out. Ever try to sing to music with an echo? That's essentially what she was doing with no ear piece. I'm not saying Ashlee is a great singer, she's just not as bad as the reputation she has managed to build for herself. I have a bigger problem with the fact that she was handed this golden opprotunity and seems hell bent on screwing it up.
