I never expected to find the same standards for service, quality and efficiency in New York City. I went in to Artie's hoping to fix my hair straightener. A friendly cashier proactively eyed the item as I walked in and guessed the problem based on her previous experience in the store. She immediately directed me to Artie himself, who was managing the other register. He knew exactly what to do. He got the part himself from the shelves, fixed it in under three minutes right at the counter, and charged me $2.71 for the part only. When I offered to pay for labor he said, "I wouldn't do that. I am glad the problem is fixed." It was a snowy Friday night and I got home late to discover that my house had been broken into. I called NYPD and the Officer recommend I called Artie's Hardware & Locksmith because they operate 24hrs as a emergency locksmith. Artie's Locksmith came out straight away and installed 2 new locks for me. I was really surprised at the good price because it was late at night and it was an emergency locksmith service after all. Lost my car keys! This locksmith service came and had a new ignition key for me in minutes. It was unbelievable. I thought my whole night was ruined, and instead it was only delayed by about 30 minutes. The guy was professional and charged me less than the dealer would have. I'd use these guys in a minute. OMG, I lost my keys in this horror of a weather we are having, so I take out my smart phone (thank god i have one) and a google search of locksmiths turns out a bunch, whom i call and none wont come out cos of the snow, then I find Artie's Locksmith, who not will come out but say they'll be there in 20 mins, well, he got here in 25 but given the snow I was expecting them to show up in about an hour or so. The locksmith opened my door and even changed out the old lock which i want to get rid off since i moved but never got around to it. Well, we came home from work one day and someone had kicked in the back door and the old lock was just dangling there.
