I saw a post on craigslist about an apt and I called. Reed returned my call in a prompt manner and was able to show the apt the same evening. We fall in love with the apt as soon as we saw. It was a little bit above our budget but we were willing to pay it. We filled out the application and payed the application fee ($200 in total) until then everything was perfect. After that we didn;t know where we were. We were supposed to have the apt for the 15 of nov because we started the process Oct 28. After calling then constantly, sending every document they asked for 2 1/2 weeks after they told me I wasn't approved and they didn't know why. Some people would say that may be i didn't meet the requirements but if that was the case I think they didn't need to wait 2 1/2 weeks to tell me that, and because every time they asked for a new paper he would say " this is a good sign, this means they will approved you. I just regret that I wasted almost 3 weeks for my search because they didn't find t... Read more

I found an ad on craigslist for an apartment in Midtown East. I emailed the person who wrote the ad, Reed, and asked if I could see the apartment immediately. He met me there just 20 minutes later. I loved the apartment and wanted to show it to my roommate. I asked Reed if he'd be willing to show it again later that evening. He didn't mind at all! We filled out the application the following morning. There was a $300 application fee- $150 per person. He was excellent about communicating with us and updating us on what was going on. We signed a lease two days later. The lease signing was very simple. Reed was very accessible, friendly, and straightforward. He made this process so easy for us. We spent over a month searching for an apartment. I found Reed to be the most attentive and helpful agent I met in Manhattan. He was very clear about everything (application, lease, etc.) and I felt very comfortable going through this process because of him. I highly highly recommend Apuzzi Realt... Read more

Looking for an apartment? Jeff is the man to work with!. He was great! I left him a message stating that I was interested in a place. He called me back immediately and scheduled a showing. The place got taken as I was heading there (Thats how fast it is in NY folks!) but Jeff found another one instantly. He found a great place with very reasonable management. The property was good quality and the price was perfect for my means. He was very patient through out the signing. He cut no corners and explained everything about the process with perfect clarity. Im so glad I worked with this guy, he was awesome!

I count my blessings in finding Jeff. Our communication started through an ad on Craigslist. However, at that time, the apartment I was interested in was already rented. He said that I should circle back with him in a week because he was expecting another apartment vacancy. A week later, still nothing. This back and forth went on from the end of April until recently, beginning of June. I was persistent and he was always professional and honest about what he could and could not do. Because I'd been on his radar, as soon as he heard that an apartment was going to be vacant, in the vicinity I wanted, he called me up. At that point, I thought it was a lost case because he didn't have anything for me in the area I wanted in over a month. He was committed to finding me the place of my dreams -- so much so that the apartment he showed me still had it's current tenants in it! This goes to show his dedication; he didn't waste any time...as soon as he learned that the current tenants were leavi... Read more

Always trust your gut. If a broker does not return your call or answer your direct questions, its probably because they're trying to pull a fast one. I've dealt with a number of brokers in the past 7 yrs that I've lived in NYC and one thing is for certain: if the broker is avoiding you or giving you the run around, its a safe bet they're up to no good. RUN AWAY FROM APUZZI REALTY !!!

Jeff was quick to call me back when I inquired about a studio listing I saw online. He met me at the space that day, and within hours I was approved for the place! Thanks Steven and Jeff, I can't wait to move in to my new apt!

I had the pleasure of working with Jeff Nach and he was great! I have no complaints about him. He is nice and patient and very professional. He kept me posted on everything that was going on and within a week I got my apartment. He even meet up with me to sign the lease because I was too sick to go to his office. He is a great guy and have recommended him to one of my friends and I am sure she will have a great experience with him as well.

Saw Steven Apuzzi ad in craigslist for location 193 & Broadway. Decided to take midnight drive to see area. Found two loud clubs, Bar Serie 56, and one at 190 st. Talked to workers smoking outside. Said noise goes till 3AM and in summer wild, motorcycles all night. My wife is pregnant.

Jeff was helpful and showed us the place without trying to sell us on anything else. He was also a fair dealer. I think he represented the place honestly, but he could have done his own research a little better. The place turned out to be $25/month more expensive and he did not mention a $15/month fee for the security guy, but the place is great and the price is reasonable for the neighborhood. This was more honesty than we got from anyone else that we tried working with before him. All in all, that's basically 95% accuracy. I think some of the more negative reviews must be by people who have never tried working with other brokers. Many of our other experiences were people trying to upsell us, downsell us, sell us no-fee listings we had seen elsewhere with a fee, lie to us about neighborhood quality or building quality, and misrepresent properties as available which weren't. Jeff didn't do any of those things, and I wouldn't mind using Jeff the next time I was looking for housi... Read more

Go talk to the people who live in the building. Jeff Nach will not tell you the truth. The super will not be honest, Jeff Nach pays the super to lie. Go back by yourself and talk to someone going in, they will be nice and tell you the truth. Sometimes, one apartment is worse then the others, over a bar, with a bad neighbor, tell the people what apartment you are looking at. Jeff Nach will be nice he is trying to get his fee, but he is not honest. You will think he is your friend until you move in and then suddenly you will see the truth. Be very careful, do not trust Jeff Nach, do not trust a super who works with him.

Earlier this week I worked with Jeff Nach of Steven Apuzzi, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I saw his ad on Craigslist on Monday morning and called him at lunchtime. He called me back around 2, we set up an appointment to see the apartment at 5:30. Jeff was quite forthcoming about the landlord, their approval process and the fees (SO unusual in NYC real estate.) Long story short, we met, I filled out an application (no roommates, no guarantors, a solid trans union credit report and verifiable employment and prior landlord references) The next morning they checked my credit and references and called back to set up a lease signing. I got my lease and the keys about 24 hours after first calling Jeff. I've read the other reviews on this site and all the complainers seem to have issues with guarantors, roommates and shaky credit. I'm guessing that they're either trolls from competing agencies or people no landlord would want in their building in the first place. If yo... Read more

I found an apartment on craigslist and was put in touch with Jeff. From our first conversation, he was nothing but calm and friendly- VERY unlike most brokers in this city. He didn't try to "sell" me, but gave it to me straight. In setting up a time to see the place, he was extremely flexible to my schedule and was even friendly and cheerful when I was a bit late! We saw the apartment- and instead of blabbing to me the whole time about how great the neighborhood is or how amazing the space is for the price, he just let me wander around and take the time to do my thing. I decided to put an application on it and Jeff came to my office the next day to pick up the paperwork- I didn't have to go out of my way at all. A few days later, I found something I liked better- I should mention after Jeff had worked to get me approved. I called Jeff to tell him I no longer wanted to take the place and he was totally understanding and put no pressure on me whatsoever to take the place anyway. ... Read more

Jeff Nach is such a good liar. . There is no doubt he is writing the positive reviews about himself. There is something horribly wrong with every apartment he represents. Renting from him will cost you thousands of dollars in moving expenses, lost broker fees and lost security. Don't try to finger out what is wrong with the apartment, just stay away. Do yourself a favor STAY AWAY

I would absolutely look to work with this guy again. He was very straight forward and kept my interests in mind, always easy to get in touch with and extremely helpful. I met a former client of his who also seemed to be equally saitisfied. I don't know about the rest of Steven Apuzzi LLC, I've only dealt with Jeff. He's the one to go to. I rarely ever write reviews, but he deserves the recognition.

Read all the other one star reviews for details. Meanwhile, note how the writing on several of the five star ratings sounds the same - the sentence structures, the voice, etc. - I would bet yet another hundred dollar application fee that one of their people has repeatedly written good reviews for themselves. Seriously, I think the good reviews are fake comments. Fraud: that would make sense on the apuzzi review...

My experience with Steven Apuzzi LLC could not have been more pleasant. Throughout a long and exhausting apartment search I was finally connected with Jeff Nach, an agent who would bend over backwards to accommodate his clients. My roommate and I are very pleased with our experience in working with Jeff and would encourage fellow apartment hunters to seek out his services. Jeff is in it for the long haul and does not rest until his clients are served properly. Thanks for everything.

From the start these people were rude, pushy and uncommunicative when you want to reach them. My boyfriend and I found an apartment through them and they quickly took our money and signed a lease with us. having rented out our apartment, bought furniture and arranged movers we were told 2 days before we were supposed to move that the management did not approve us. Having paid out thousands of dollars, we have no apartment and despite many calls have not received a response from Steven Appuzzi about getting our money back. This has been a truly traumatic experience.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.. I told them Brooklyn and they want to send me to the Bronx. Complete and total morons. MORONS!

My roommate and I found our apartment on Craig's list which was listed under Steven Apuzzi. Working with our broker, Jeff Natch was a real pleasure and an effortless experience. He was very knowledgeable, listened to what we wanted and what we were looking for, was very easy going and easy to get in touch with and INCREDIBLY HONEST. His help and services were most appreciated and my roommate and I are thrilled in our newly renovated apartment. Jeff made the entire stress of moving and all of the issues associated with it an effortless and very positive experience. He answered any and all questions we had and was really fantastic to work with.

I worked with Jeff Nach at Apuzzi Realty and he was great. No problems, quick phone calls, courteous service. Jeff was also really helpful with questions, super friendly, fast with my application and even brought the contracts & lease to me to sign. Couldn't have asked for more. The only thing stopping me from giving five stars is the broker's fee. Although Jeff asked the company president about getting it reduced, we were turned down. 15% is kinda ridiculous, I think, especially when I found the listing on craigslist, but I did find a great place, exactly where I wanted to be in the East Village. So, if you get Jeff Nach on the line, hang on. He'll do you right.

In reading the posted comments about Apuzzi, maybe Jeff Natch is a professional but my experience with Apuzzi was a nightmare. When you call the office (if they pick-up) you will be greeted by a woman who sounds like a debt collector and seriously lacks enthusiasm. In her monotone voice, she will ask who you are calling for and then put you on hold only to tell you that they are out of the office...really this person is ducking you. One reviewer wrote that Apuzzi doesn't seem to care about wanting your business and I found this to be true. Apuzzi acts like they know it all and you don't, but they know very little about the properties...just ask the Supers. Apuzzi constantly "Yes's" their customers. I will not name names. They lack basic business follow-up skills. They don't even have a web-site. Good luck getting in touch with them once you've paid them. I was given several different rents for one property, several different broker fees and my wife was spoken to rudely. The... Read more

I?d like to add my comments as to this thread. Often times we hear the negative and seldom the positives. In the weeks leading to the Christmas holidays I had been actively looking for an apartment. I called listings in newspapers, websites; I walked building to building in neighborhoods that were of interest ? to no avail. When the prospects of finding an apartment before the New Year seemed dismal, I made one final call. I spoke to broker Jeff Nach ? who made an appointment for me to view the apartment listed in an Ad. From the moment we met there was an instant sense of honesty and integrity that made my experience positive. I expressed my concerns regarding the business side of the transaction. Mr. Nach was able to address and reassure my concerns with conviction. Within days, the lease was signed with all items addressed and resolved. Mr. Nach is honest and a GENTLEMAN in all senses of the word. My experience with doing business with him was above board and I woul... Read more

Before I contacted Jeff Nach from Apuzzi Realty, I had horrible experiences with other realtors. Jeff Nach is personable and reliable. He was on time for all of our meetings and answered all of my questions honestly. Whenever I had a concern, he was always available. He went through great lenghts to make my fiance and I feel comfortable. Once we found our dream apartment, he made sure that all of the necessary steps were completed; the process was stress free. I highly recommend him.

Take my advice and AVOID APUZZI AT ALL COSTS. All the other negative reviews on this website are true. My roommate and I hade a TERRIBLE experience. We found a place in the East Village. Max was our agent (works for Apuzzi) and he is a nice guy. We put down a $300 deposit, and Max told us that he would take the place off the market, and we would sign a lease in a couple of days and move in a couple of days after that. We waited. 2 weeks. Nothing and nothing, and they NEVER returned phone calls - not once did I get Apuzzi on the phone. And then he would have different people call me and make excuses for why I couldn't reach him and why I hadn't sign the lease yet. Finally after 2 weeks, someone calls us and tells us that the apartment was rented to somebody else. After it was supposedly taken off the market. So we lost 2 weeks and were stressed out the whole time. As if that weren't enough, they are KEEPING $200 OF OUR $300 DEPOSIT. There is apparently a non-refundable... Read more

I just got my apartment through a broker at Apuzzi Realty and couldn't be happier. I had to move into the apartment no later than Friday and I turned in my application Monday afternoon. The broker did whatever was necessary to get me in and I had the keys on Wednesday. After having dealt with a large number of brokers, some from big name prestigious firms it was a pleasure to meet someone who came on time to appointments, was knowledgeable about the rental market, had accurate information on the building I was interested in, and was willing to admit mistakes when he made them. In short a true professional. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

How could something so promising go so terribly wrong? Apuzzi was by far the worst broker experience I've had in Manhattan. After telling us we'd need a guarentor, he called my father, the guarentor, at 7 AM on a friday , FOUR TIMES, to get his social security number, rather than wait till a reasonable hour. Further he misled myself and my roomate about how the guarentor situation worked. For the next four weeks they promised us we'd move in once every three days. That is they told us we'd move in on the 3, 7, 10, 13, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25 before we finally moved in on the 28th. This cost us three Uhaul trucks and an unbelievable amount of aggrivation. On the 13th, at their, insistence my roomate and I left 80% of our stuff at our apt. They locked it up and we had no access to it until we finally moved in at the end of the month. When we did finally move in, it was without the help of our broker, but because we were lucky enough to get the super's telephone number from a future nei... Read more

Apuzzi Realty has consistently ignored phone calls regarding their apartments. I have called numerous times about an apartment I was interested in and not only do they NEVER pick up the phone but they don't respond to messages left either. I called management, they finally picked up and promised they'd call me back with more information about the apartment and what a shocker, never heard from them again. Terrible communication, no customer service whatsoever, highly UNRECOMMENDED. To be honest, I'm not sure if these people even give a hoot if they rent anything ever.

My boyfriend and I were pleased when we started working with Apuzzi because they seemed very laid back and had a relatively low fee, however working with this agent ended up the worst decision possible and made our move extremely stressful. Steven Apuzzi was not in communication with us after we signed our lease and received our money. Then, they delayed our move by two weeks and when we tried to get in touch with them, we were lied to and consistently ignored. Finally, we just worked with the management co. (who were great). At one point, we were told that Apuzzi Realty "did not have time for us" and that "it was out of their hands." The few times we spoke to anyone, we were spoken to rudely and in a very unprofessional manner. We were lied to and I strongly reccommend everyone to STAY CLEAR of APUZZI REALTY!!!!
