Computers from Apple are both classy & chic. Apple knows how to make stylish computers with great working capabilities.

I admit Apple makes a very good computer. Great hardware but what is hardware without the software. Hooah!

Fabulous computer. Reliable, easy to use with Panther, fast. Do a lot of digital video and graphics, and this is perfect, powerful computer. Also a die-hard windows computer, but I find myself using the Mac more requently, particularly with Panther installed now.

I've worked on IBM-compatibles for many years, but when I decided to purchase a home computer (after I returned the Compaq to the store and returned to my word processor) I chose a PowerMac G4. It's been working for me for 4 years now and I have not upgraded once. There are hundreds of high quality slides and photographs stored on my hard drive and I am still loading programs to this day on only 128 mb. I know I need to upgrade soon, but I have no worries, because I have 3-4 more memory slots to utilize. I plan to have this computer for a very long time. I use Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint on my computer, as well as AppleWorks. I've not suffered as a result of incompatibility.

OS X is the single greatest operating system. Mac has continued to improve the best interface. Microsoft has failed miserably every time since windows 3.1. 2 years and 9 months later with everyday use, NOT ONE CRASH. Airport is extreme, literally. The Superdrive started the trend the other computers had to follow again. It is no surprise the ratings of the greatest computers are the highest.

A little bit of trivia history. windows 98 was modeled on mac 86. it took them a long time to figure it out as much as is possible. mac is superior and still breaking new ground in technology!

The G4 is the best computer to own if you are in the graphic design business. Macintosh still dominates the graphic design market. The whole idea of windows was taken from Macintosh. MS Windows has only recently come close to catching up on Mac's user friendliness. The only problem with owning a Macintosh computer is that most people (not designers) own an IBM compatible. Therefore, there is not as much software written for the Mac, and a lot of files created on an IBM compatible cannot be read on the Mac (But Mac can read more IBM compatible files than IBM compatible can read Mac). But as far as being a quality machine, Macintosh is unsurpassed.

Macs rule! They are so much easier to learn than PCs. Its design is so much better than the PCs'. It may be more expensive but it's certainly worth it!

I'm sure most people who actually bought one of these overpriced trash heaps would feel cheated if they themselves put anything but a high rating. But really. Overpriced + Underpower does not equal "Good computer"

I've used a PC at work for 15 years, and Macs at home for over 10 years. At home, I never need a technical support group like we need at work. Macs are the Everready batteries of computers. They just keep going, and going, and going, and.....

Apple really nailed it with this one. You can't beat the hardware. Apple is the only computer company right now that refuses to sacrifice quality of hardware for low prices. Apples are worth every penny, and they will pay you back with a great resale value. That is assuming of course that you can bear to let it go.

As a multimedia grad student, the G4 provides the speed and interface most accomadating to my needs. The operating system is designed to allow quick access to applications and info stored on system, a Windows environment may take additional steps to complete same tasks. Design of unit is a plus and processing speed is a benefit when working with graphics/images. OS 8.5 and above.

It is a solid, well rounded machine. Good speed, device compatibility and the Apple monitors are pleasant on the eyes. The video capability is very nice.

I use the PowerMac for video editing and I have used the free software that Apple provides for movie editing, iMovie extensively. I use the built in Apache Server and I think the Apple operating system is way more secure than windows-as a server. I have dual processors and I really value the added speed when using Photoshop.

Just when you thought you couldn't top the G3, they came out with the G4. Coming in a fashionable smoke color, it comes in faster speeds and more memory. Perfect for art/movie editing applications.

Best PC on the market. It has no bad qualities. It is faster than any PC you can buy. It has a better soundcard and graphics accelerator than any other PC you can get.

A powerful computer, but Mac's suck man. They are the most expensive pieces of crap on the market. They have a lot you can do with them, but Apple sucks, you should just buy a PC for $1000 cheaper that is just as good.

If you willing to pay about two thousand for a computer, you really can't do much better than the Apple G4. This monster of a machine has two processor chips which let's everyone from the photoshop pro to the new user blaze through programs at amazing speed. Don't be fooled by the apparent low Mhz, for the Apple currently clocks faster than any computer out there. Cons-no included monitor or printer.

Being a Mac, it of course has incredible ease of use. In particular, the G4 with dual 500 Mhz processors is the ultimate computer, truly. It out performs any single processor high end P3 or AMD Athlon. The only down falls are the exorbatent price, $3500 or so for the dual 500, and the lack of a high end graphics card. VRAM intensive games only run at low resolution with some choppiness.

This computer is the fastest, most well-put-together computer by Apple so far. I love it. G4 chip is fast and unique. The monitor is a little pricey though but it matches the look and feel of the G4.

For serious power, this is the way to go. The G4 is more efficent with less memory than some PC chips with twice the speed. I run windows programs through emulation faster than most of my friends run the same program on their new Compaqs.

Excellent box. Very fast, however, on the costly side. It is also a shame that Apple does not have standard SCSI controllers, but moved to IDE disks (to save costs) on new Mac machines.

Excellent for audio visual uses. I use "peak" excellent sound card or something, because the traditional IBM PC doesn't have as much quality in sound.

Personally, I don't like them. They don't have a lot of software to use for them. If your into the graphic arts, you can use the advanced processing.

G4's are very nice! There is virtually no wait time to complete big tasks. As an Adobe Photoshop user, I dislike the fact that I have to wait when I am working on projects. With the G4 a 5 minute wait is cut to seconds.

Great product. This product is fast and reliable. I have been using it at our work and so far I have no problem. A point to make- these guys don't come with a SCSI port. So, if you want to connect your old Syquest drive, you'll have to cough up some dough.

This is the most powerful computer available at the moment, but these days that will change in a year. Last year I worked as a salesperson in the Postal Annex and we used almost exclusively the MacG4. The abilities for graphic design, movie editing, sound processing, and anything that requires large memory are greatly multiplied through new superchip technology. It is capable of one gigaflop, which is one million unrelated functions at one time.

The G4 is the fastest desktop that can do large graphic art files. I've used this machine before and it is twice as fast at rendering sitemaps than my PC which is PIII 800. That's because the MAC is 128 bit while PC's are 32 bit.

Mac did one hell of a number with this bad ass computer, the fastest thinking computer on the market, with the coolest design. Translucent case in any color you want. Not a computer for those who don't know what they are doing. This thing is faster than God.
