These things are awesome. I think every teenager need one. The only downside is that they break easily and that you have to have iTunes to use the device. If you buy and older one today then forget about getting good apps because they have been forgotten. So if your buying one buy one of the new ones.

I've always hated iPods, but when I had a Touch given to me for free, I wasn't about to complain. I set my bias aside and realised that these weren't nearly as bad as the originals were. However, they're still inferior to Sony (the MP3s with by far the best audio), Zen (a media device that, while not the best, may be the best deal for those on a budget, and who aren't audiophiles or obsessed with having what's 'hip' or anything), and Phillips (known to be pretty buggy, but are otherwise fantastic players as a whole). I consider the iPod to be on par with Zune (both are produced for the masses and over-hyped, but neither are terrible trash, either). For me, I really despise that I'm forced to use iTunes, one hell of a faulty program, and that so many files do not work correctly on the iPod. Also, as a great music lover (as opposed to those who buy MP3 players as casual listeners), I'm very irritated by the average-at-best sound, along with the lack of any great equaliser settings. The iPod touch has a great processor for it's slim small size. The iPod touch has a very sensitive screen, fantastic graphic resloution and great battery life depending on what model you have. The Apple product was a hit and has online services such as iTunes and App store. iTunes, you download music for cheap prices. You can also download, movies, albums and more. The app store boasts over 100,000 apps. 10 Billion apps have been downloaded! There is tonnes of apps, ranging from games to guides. You can also get book apps where you can read full books, and better, you can read them in the dark with the well lit screen. The app prices are low and the apps are fantastic and addicting. There's an app for pretty much about anything. The internet browser is safari, a fast internet provider. It's great! The iPod Touch has maps, and has a google earth app. It also has a youtube app that comes with it, very fast and has tonnes of videos. The iPod is great for music and you can fit thousands a... Great product! Worth every penny and then some. I never cease to be amazed at how much you can do with this device. It holds all of my music, photos, handy apps, and more. An absolute life saver on long flights or road trips!

This is the perfect travel companion. I have used my iPod Touch all over Europe to get information without going back to my hotel room! I have never had any issues with it freezing and it always find me a great wifi connection. Apps are a huge plus to this device as well.

Ya, so I have one. Whatever. Its cool, but I thought there would be more to it. Seems like you have to update applications every five minutes to stay on top of what apple has to offer it. I've updated mine once, and still have zero internet connection. I've tried using the internet a few times before, and it worked only once. I dont even bother anymore and just use my blackberry for it. This is cool to hold my music, and the touching part is cool. but all the other applications on it really dont do much for me. i dont use it for anything but my music.

I own a second generation 8GB Apple iPod Touch. I must say, it's very fun to use. What sets it apart from other MP3 players is the big screen that's touch sensitive, the applications store in iTunes, and the built in accelerometer. The main reason I purchased this MP3 play was for movies/videos, the apps that can be used on it, and the built-in speaker. I was also getting tired of hearing the same songs played over and over again on the radio in my car. I bought a bundle pack for it on eBay that included 2 silicon skins, a hard case, a wall charger, a car charger, a screen protector, a FM transmitter (for use on my car's radio), an arm band for use with the silicon skins, a cord keeper, headphones, and a retractable USB cable for $15 USD. I use the FM transmitter and hard case all the time in my car, and the arm band and silicon case when I'm cleaning around the house or yard. One thing I don't like about it is the seemingly short battery life (which dropped my rating down by one st... Read more

I have had my 8gb ipod touch for about six months. I love the device. They have made a complete iPod with the touch version. The app store is great I don't think there has been one app that I did not search for and could not find at the app store. The other great thing about it is I installed my operating system osx onto the device and use it to boot to when I'm not at home. It's a great device I made this review with my iPod touch.

I lost mine. These things are expensive and probably the easiest thing in the world to steal. They have the exact same functions as any other media player, probably less, it has no microphone or radio, just a great interface that impresses your friends and technologically impared family. The app store is fun but limited. It will be better in the future. I'd buy one again, but you really have to realize you have a 70% percent chance of losing it. Tie it you your wrist somehow.

I got the first generation and it is a small gadget to carry around. I'll admit that I don't use it as often as I should and I don't have put a lot of things on it. I also have never filled it up. For most of its life, I've only charged it about 30 times and I've added stuff to it less than 10 times. So far, it's been a great little device to keep me occupied since I've downloaded some games for it.

*Update* I got the iPod Touch for Christmas and I love it. The UI is gorgeous. With the opening of the app store, I can buy apps as games, and as tools to make some of my favorite webservices like Twitter and Facebook better. I use it as: photo display, music, games, and mini browser. Not bad for a tiny little device. This would be a five star gadget if it had a camera. But then again, if it had a camera, they would sell less phones. Original Review: The iTouch is basically an iPhone but without the phone part, and without the camera.  The wifi makes it a neat little gadget, but doesn't everybody already have an iPod by now, and is wifi really enough of a reason to buy another iPod?  If this thing had a camera, I'd think about buying it.

I have an iphone and an ipod touch as I like to use the ipod in the car and have the iphone free to use. Uhh what to say? It's alright I guess. Would be nice to be able to customize a little more - background etc. Once again, as with all ipods, the metallic back is way too easy to scratch and scuff, and all the cases make this super slim and compact ipod quite chunky! Nice to watch movies on when on holiday or travelling and alright sound quality.

I filled up my nano so I decided to upgrade to an iPod touch. It's phenomenal. It's like a computer you can fit in your pocket. I haven't even gotten to use the internet functions yet, but just as a music player it's flawless. It even has cover flow. It doubles as my agenda since it has the same notes application that my iMac dashboard has. I'm still eagerly awaiting the App store in June when it will get games and hopefully a full-fledged Cisco VPN since the one that comes with it isn't enough for my college. Finally, the form factor is excellent. The nano felt kind of cheap compared to this and is too small. This is thin and easy to grab and put in and out of my pocket.

I love my iPod Touch! It's great! If you don't want to pay for the iPhone but still have the same type of thing, this is for you! : ) I've had mine for months now and I love it! You can also do other things with it like "jailbreaking" it. By doing that, you can install other apps that make it even more amazing!! There's so many things to do on it! Definitely 5 stars!

Photos on the iPod touch look excellent, and management of them is a breeze. You can easily sync them with iTunes, and bring them to life on the touch. With built in wi-fi and the safari web browser, you have the internet at your finger tips, and web pages look just like they do on your computer.
