Fri Mar 31 2006for the whiner who's eMac system crashed in the first month of use. you are just windows dork. I use Photoshop 5 and 7, Final Cut Express, etc, etc, etc, without a hitch. You probably took all the RAM out and thats why its not working. Besides if you bought a 900 dollar computer just to use iTunes you have already told everyone that your a dork, so i just wasted 5 minutes of my time. uggggghhhhh

Tue Mar 14 2006I work at a timeshare resort with computer access in the clubhouse area. To keep children off the computers (windows), we have a sign posted near the computers telling guests to ask us for log-in instructions. The instructions are extremely simple: type the phrase which is in the upper right corner into the box which is directly below it and hit enter. That's it! Amazingly, many people return and ask us to repeat the instructions again, sometimes twice. I think this is the problem people have with Macs: It is so much simpler than what they are used to with windows that they can't believe it is really that easy. They do what they did with windows and it doesn't work. Macs are what computing should be like, quite simply - easy to use. I've had 2 eMacs in the last 5 years and the only time I had a problem was when using a piece of software which was incompatible with my printer. The work around was simple- every time I used that software I just rebooted the system. Every system is compose... Read more

Sat Dec 04 2004Easy to open up to. For any first-buyers, Apple is a better choice for its being user friendly. For many long time Wondows users, they wont appreciate Apples upsides.

Sat Jul 31 2004I've had a few problems with compatiablity, but overall my Apple is pretty good. It's dependable and get's the job done. Much better then Windows that's for sure.

Thu Jul 22 2004I honestly don't want to offend jackjames, but the Apple eMac is more stable Mount Everest. Granted, it can be difficult to find equipment that is compatible with Apple computers, but what you gain when switch from Windows to Mac is well worth it. I know because I did so. I spent quite a long time working with Windows, but found it to become to generic, unuser friendly, and unreliable after about six months. Since I have purchased my eMac- which is great for the price- I have been able to do much more with it then I could ever have done with a PC. By the way- most of the Windows programs are rip-offs of Apple's. Just something to consider for those of you contemplating on switching to Apple or not.

Mon Apr 26 2004The eMac is a great computer for its price. I have been using a 1 GHz model with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 for nearly a year and a half, and it runs much, much faster and with less problems than my 2.4 GHz Gateway. I highly recommend it, and I have ordered another one already!

Wed Apr 14 2004My new Emac is like the best thing that has happened to my computer world. I think its the best thing since sliced bread. By the way, Mac are so much superior to windows, it never crashes, (If it does, its usually your fault).

Fri Feb 20 2004CONSIDERING MOVING FROM WINDOWS TO MAC? DON'T! We recently bought an eMac with OS X 10.3.2 to replace an outdated Windows 98 Compaq so we could use iTunes. Since the other major use of our computer is processing digital photos, we thought that the myth we heard that Apples do better with graphics would make dealing with photos better. Although the eMac works for iTunes like expected, it is a disaster with digital imaging. It is virtually impossible to produce consistent results with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 with OS X. Printer functions are close to unusable. Other problems with the eMac include an unstable system that makes Windows look like the Rock of Gibraltar. Our system crashed within the first month of use. Restoring the system with the disk provided by Apple worked OK, but we continue to have problems and on a weekly basis we correct the system with Disk Utilities. Managing files with OS X is more complicated than with Windows, and cleaning up the system with Disk Ut... Read more

Tue Dec 02 2003It works great but NOT worth the price and there are many neat toys out there I can't use with Mac. OS10 is nice, but I am a UNIX guy. Might not be for everyone.
