I can't say much about this one as I have very less experience.

Is it me or many former AOL users have horror stories? Find the clip about how hard it is to actually 'cancel the account' and how hard the company used to make it for you to actually quit them. . .just a clunky system that I never warmed up to. . .

Avoid the evil AOL if you can!!  If you have it ~ you will be stuck with it for the rest of your natural life ~ and it may even follow you in death (just not really sure about that one).

AOL causes many problems on computers. That is just my observation. Some of my relatives have it and I'm constantly trying to help them with all of the screen freezing, the slow downloads, etc. Not a good choice for me..guess that's why I don't have it!

This is the ISP for people that have more money than brains. But if you don't have it, it's nothing to really worry about (except for those stupid commericals).

AOL is overpriced, useless if you have a broadband connection, and annoying... AOL users love to waste their money.

I have had constant problems with aol. I pay good money for dsl yet aol 9.0 downloads slower than when i had dialup. Many of the areas in settings and topics are unavailabel, why have them listed and why release a new version when it's not complete, unavailabe at this time or still being beta tested? The ONLY reason I have aol is the cht room I frequent. I have made many many friends there, we all hav e the same feelings about aol, but this particular chat room is great. Aol however randomly decided to close it when people are in it and freezes everyone up so we have to reboot, then the room no longer exists. I've called for help and I cannot understand the tecnicians which makes the problems I've encountered more frustrating. I think 5.0 and 7.0 were the best versions, I never had problems with them but windows xp came with my computer and wont support them

I love AOL! The features just get better and better with every new version. I think AOL 9.0 is the best one I've ever seen!

Every person I have talked to that has downloaded the new AOL 9.0 version has had problems with their computer. It slows it down, takes up a lot of space, is slow to load, spam filters do not work, etc. The new Computer Checkup is awful. I let AOL fix my computer..HA! It messed things up even more. Numerous times I have had to shut down my computer or my computer has frozen from AOL problems. It is not my computer or me that is the problem. I have a pretty good computer and I know how to use it. I recently got sick of all of the 9.0 BS and downgraded to 8.0 because it was the lowest version I found lying around my house. I think the most reliable versions were 5.0-7.0 but I am not sure. My family uses it so I am forced to as well. I like the features on 9.0 but it is more important for me to have a healthy and fast computer than for me to enjoy those features. I will they would fix many of these issues in the next version because it is quite frustrating.

As I have said so many times before, it isn't really AOL that is the problem..it is almost always the USER...learn how to use a computer instead of always blaming it on AOL. AOL is made to be simple for people who don't know what they are doing online for the most part, so I would hate to see some of them graduate to MSN or something...good grief !

aol gets slower and slower with every new version. instead on improving on performance and reliability, they decide to add more colors and icon with each version. I have aol 9.0 and it actually SLOWED my entire computer system. AOL, You suck.

If it's annoying, then why have it? There are plenty of other options. It seems to me as an easy fix.

We have AOL, but only because my brother likes all the features and the chatrooms. To their credit, AOL has really improved over the years, and I do mildly enjoy their latest version, 9.0.
