Tue Feb 12 2008How could this list possibly be this far down? Almost everyone here chimes in on the political lists, at least from time to time. Even if it's just some kid spitting out something he got off a cheap website, the poltical lists certainly get a lot of attention for something that apparently isn't very popular.

Wed Feb 28 2007It's these weblists that drew me to RIA in the first place. Commenting on various events, ideologies and political people, then reading the various reactions to those posts, confirms what I've always suspected. There are two colossal failures in America (and I suspect throughout the civilized world) the first being our elementary and secondary educational system, the second being the American press. Both have been commandeered by leftists. Is it really so unreasonable to expect elementary and high schools to prepare their students to think objectively and analytically about politics? They don't. Nearly all young people who register to vote in their teens and early twenties register either democrat or liberal. In college, you PAY FOR the indoctrination, and it intensifies. Why? Because nearly 85% of all teachers and professors in the US are registered democrats and/or liberals and the ideological brow-beating is not just allowed, it is embedded in the curriculum. One minor examp... Read more

Tue Jan 30 2007I don't think anyone understands politics completely and entirely. There's so much to know and so much is either unavailable or hidden from us. I truly hate politics!

Tue May 10 2005It's good to let off a bit of steam about some issues that bother you but it can get nasty because people have such strong opinions on this subject. This is the type of subject that as far as the rater is concerned, they are right and everyone else is wrong. This would be better as a 'fight it out' weblist!

Sun Jan 30 2005I'll write my opinions about politics, but I'm in no mood to debate or get into any flame wars with anyone.

Sun Aug 22 2004Believe it or not, I'm not really a political animal. I read some of the outrageous comments made on this site, and I get angry and I feel I have to respond. Once upon a time, I actually considered myself apolitical. Sigh.

Fri Aug 20 2004I have to second MissPackRat's view on politics on this site. Its getting more and more personal by the day and we've now got two corners on this site and quite frankly its getting REALLY BORING!!! I steer clear of it and try and focus on more positive things to talk about. I like to read about people's character and their stance on life rather than their political opinons 24/7 all the time, its almost like an obsession. I find it unfair to question people's patriotism just because they don't like something thats all American, all British or all anything. I'm tired of being labelled a liberal because I don't like Bush or Blair. For goodness sakes lets leave politics to the politicans, do you think they care about us to the right, left, middle or upside down?? All we are people is just a number or a vote to them...so please GET OVER IT!

Fri Aug 20 2004It is sometimes interesting to read others' opinions, but I really don't like to get into political arguments. So I pretty much keep my distance on those ones.
