I finally get all the network stations in HD from Gainesville FL down at the lake. With rabbit ears I only got about half on a regular basis. Not anymore. I have it on a 13' pole and get stations from about 30 miles away. I do pretty good at getting Jacksonville stations with the exception of Channel 4 which I got once sort of when I put it up but I guess weather has to be perfect for that to come in. But with that exception and the exception of their PBS, I get Jacksonville's network stations which is over 50 miles away. But all of Gainesville's stations come in great, finally. Getting a good HD antenna wasn't easy, but this one works. When in doubt, go with an 8' Yagi I say. Assembly was easy with the enclosed instruction sheet. Around an hour including unpacking. Edit: Since it worked well down at the lake I bought one for my house which is pretty wooded. DTV doesn't work if you have trees apparently. With my old VHF/UHF antenna on a 15' pole I could only get PBS (5) after t... Read more

Good powerful rural area antenna. Just as important as the antenna tho is the wire and connections. Make sure you use quality wiring and F-Connectors... or the best antenna simply can not work.

I bought the 91XG after using a roof mounted Antennas Direct DB8 for several weeks. I live nearly 60 miles north of the NYC market where most of the networks transmit from the ESB. I use with a Wineguard mast-mounted pre-amp and a Philips rotor. The DB8 replaced the tiny Philips Manta 940 that I used for several months. The Philips antenna was not bad, bringing in about 20-30 channels of varying strength, but failed without warning. The DB8 would receive about the same number of channels, but had poor gain. Sometimes you get a channel, most times you get dropouts or no signal at all. I decided to give the directional 91XG a try. The improvement has been dramatic, and the irony is that while it is directional, it is less fussy than the DB8. I fine tuned the rotor to maximize signal from NBC4 and it has performed well for several weeks. TV reception from a fringe area with unpredictable New England weather and lots of trees and in your path to the transmitter(s) is an adventure. On... Read more

CAUTION: This 91XG antenna will NOT get DIGITAL VHF channels (if you have them in your area) - it's a UHF ONLY antenna and just won't pick them up. Here's the deal. Like Jerry in CDM (review 8/06/09) I live in Orange County, CA, getting my signals from the transmitters in LA 50+ miles to the North. I too have been having problems getting channels 7, 9, 11 & 13 with this 91XG antenna, but only today figured out the problem. What I figured out this afternoon from AntennaWeb and elsewhere is that, unlike all the other LA channels, which are transmitting UHF, channels 7, 9, 11 & 13 are transmitting their DIGITAL signals on the 175-216 MHz band, which is still a VHF, not a UHF, band. As the Wiki entry on Very High Frequency notes, "A minority of DTV channels may appear here." SO, even though this is a hot long range HDTV antenna, it's a UHF only antenna and if you look carefully at all the info on the box it says it's only good for UHF channels 14-69. It's not designed to pick up ... Read more

After installing the 91XG Antenna, I now receive all the channels I was expecting...ON GOOD RECEPTION DAYS. However, this antenna frequently doesn't bring in channel 7, 11, and sometimes 9. My previous antenna had no problem with those stations but couldn't bring in many others. For an antenna with these specs, I am somewhat disappointed in its performance.
