I don't watch this all the time. Sometimes I have been. The recent shows about the dangers of wolves and coyotes have been helpful. There was also a show on the danger of having wild animals like chimps. It went through the psychology of it all. I think it could do a lot of good on educating people. Many people don't have cable though.

Planets funniest animals is not funny at all. It is cruel and exploitative. There is nothing even remotely funny about a skunk with its head stuck in a tin, or an elephant eating a plastic bag, a sow in a farrowing crate, or any animals exhibiting stereotypic behaviour as a result of stress and boredom of confinement. Its horrible. It makes me really sad that some people actually find these things funny.

Excellent channel for what it is. They have a lot of really great shows, one of which is Animal Cops which is a harsh awakening about how humanity is treating other species of life in which we share this planet with. They also air a lot of really great specials, and ocassionally will air a movie too!

Animal Planet is probably my favorite channel. With shows that are funny, drama filled, scientific and very informative, there's bound to be a show for just about anyone on animal planet!!!!

My fix for dog shows, feel-good programming and a little science thrown in.

Animal stuff gets boring.   Once in a while it has stuff on dingoes.  You can't be too careful. Anything you learn about these baby stealing mopes is helpful.

I really enjoy some of the animal planet shows. Specially the Animal Police ones. While many times the stories of some of the animals are heartbreaking, I'm thankful the ASPCA and other agencies are making the public aware of how cruelly animals are treated and what we can do to help them.

Working at a vet's office, we keep this on in the reception area as the standard (it's generally a safe assumption that our clients are animal lovers), so I half-watch several hours of programming that I normally wouldn't watch. Generally, the quality is fairly good. The Animal Cops and Emergency Vet shows are some of the only "reality" shows I'll watch. "Backyard Habitat" is the only "home makeover" show that I could really get into (though there's not that much variation between episodes). "The Most Extreme" (though I hate the title) is always fun to watch. However, the one show that stands out that I don't like is "Animal Miracles". Yes, I love animals and I agree that they do amazing things, but their presentation of it is just overly cheesy and dramatic. Generally, though, it's reliably good.

I love this channel and all the shows they air. I am an animal freak and my sis is too. We can't get enough. Growing Up.. is a must see for us and Ms. Adventure. We have watched the croc hunter for years.

Enjoy Animal Planet, especially Planet's Funniest Animals. However, WHERE or WHERE is Matt Gallant? Please bring him back - watch the re-runs more than the new show. Don't like the new set either. Again, please bring Matt back. K9 to 5 is terrific, too.

What became of Matt? He could be annoying but this new person has no personality and looks like he belongs on a gangster movie instead of with funny or any kind of animals. Too bad. What did become of Matt?

WE MISS MATT GALLANT! We would like to see Matt return to hosting either the funniest animals videos again or maybe get his own show about animals. (If he would agree to it, of course.) Maybe people need to go to the Animal Planet's website and EMAIL THEM to get Matt back! Other than that, I think the ANIMAL planet needs to have more on ANIMALS...not insects and not reptiles (lizards, crocodiles, alligators, snakes, etc.) These are NOT animals. Well, I'm on my way over to Animal Planet to tell them what I think!

(MY RATING IS FOR THE 'NEW' PLANET'S FUNNIEST ANIMALS,,,it is NOT at all meant for the original series, with the wonderful 'MATT GALLANT'. Planet's funniest animals will certainly NEVER be the same without the beautiful personality of Matt Gallant. Even with the crappy lines that the writers gave Matt, he was still always smiling, and made the best of those lines. He was such a genuine, cheerful host. He is greatly missed. I don't even know the name of the new 'mono-toned' host. He's extremely boring, and nothing at all like Matt was. WE MISS YOU MATT GALLANT!!

This is a good channel but they show too much of those funniest animal type shows or air shows which aren't so much about animals but more about people. Some of those shows where you get these dare devils chasing lions can be very boring. But the most interesting character would have to be Steve Erwin (how ever you spell it) that Australian guy also known as the crocodile hunter. But I wish they would have more documentaries, especially shows about insects. Animal Precinct is also a good show.

I love animals, but most the shows on this channel don't grab my attention. Also, Slater from Saved By the Bell shouldn't have any more TV shows. Make that guy work for a living, he's brutal to watch.

Plantet's Funniest Animals is not the same without Matt Gallant. People give Matt such a hard time, but the show is geared towards kids, and people who love animals. Matt was a perfect combination of one who loves both. I looked forward to watching that show to see Matt's smile everyday. Well, as the saying says you don't know what you have until it's gone. Good luck Matt...we all miss you.

Well, I didn't know that Planet's funniest animals had replaced Matt. I can't see how the new person could be any worse, but we'll see. I think the biggest problem is they need to get some new writers. The jokes are horrible. The main thing I did not like about Matt was his voice - it just got on my nerves.

Where did The Planet's Funniest Animals get this new host Key? As much as I didn't really care for Matt Gallant, I'd rather have him than Key, Mr. Non-personality. They went from bad to worse!

There are so many shows on animal planet and most of them are good. My favorites are: Growing Up and Pet Star. Growing Up is about an animal and it's life of growing up. This show can be touching, but the ending always makes you happy. The animals are always so cute and it's great to see them being taken care of and so happy. This show is indescribable as it is the best show on Animal Planet. Pet Star has various people and their pets perform outstanding tricks. Some are pretty lame, but there are some amazing ones that just make you say wow. There are celebrity judges who choose winners and those winners will go on to compete in the finals. There are animals from dogs, to birds, to cats, to pigs, to horses and mules! It's amazing what these pet owners can teach their animals and it is a wonderful show to watch. I'd have to say animal planet is a wonderful station. There are some shows that I haven't watched because they look creepy, usually these have bugs. I'm not a bug ... Read more

Animal Planet is awsome! Finally, a channel where animals are the stars instead of people. People always say that animals are boring and just eat, poop, and sleep. If they wathch this they'll see how much better animals really are! My favorite show has to be Animal Cops Houston. But I do kinda agree with the people that say that there are too many kinds of Animal Cops. I know i'm giving AP a good score but there are some really dumd shows like Animal Kidding, Who Gets The Dog, Pet Phsycic, Barking Mad, Planets Funniest Animals (its ok), and Amazing Animal Vidios. But those last two just need new hosts. I love the shows Animal Cops, Growing Up, Animal X, The Most Extreme, Animal Planet Safari, The Eukanuba Dog Shows, The Jeff Corwin Exp., The Crocodile Hunter, Buggin with Rudd, and Corwin's Quest. I also love all of the AP specials on Wo Sunday but I hate Mo Rocca. He's so stupid. Who in their right minds put him on AP. Did they think he was funny? Ugh! He's got isues. When I watch ... As many mentioned previously, AP has gone crazy with those over-dramatizing animal cop shows. I can never understand how a cash reward for the arrest of someone who has been cruel to a dog can be several times more than the reward for the capture of a child predator. Even worse, how is it OK for one show to let a baby chick fall out of it's nest and filming it as it's slowly being stung to death by ants and on another show, someone gets arrested for forgetting to feed an animal. All the camera man had to do was to put on some gloves and lift the defenseless bird into the nest. But I guess AP paid more to see suffering. Think theres a conflict of interest here. Anyway, what mindless executive approved Who Gets the Dog reality nonsense. Honestly, who cares where that dog ends up. That annoying retard Mo Rocca doesn't help either. Id give anything to bump into him in a dark alley. Love to see him handling a Black Mamba or some other deadly critter. What's up with that irritating... Read more

I would have given this five stars but for some reason animal planet has gone crazy with those animal precinct shows and there are something like five different variations of the show. Animal, precinct, animal cops, animal cops sandiago, animal cops los angelas, and animal cops houston. I cant take any more animal cop shows.

This channel makes me wish I didn't pick DSL over cable TV. Almost. Nothing fascinates me quite as much as animals, and I had a lot of fun watching Shark Week and my favorite shows Animal Planet Safar, Twisted Tales, and Animal X, as well as Jeff Corwin (who I think is kinda hot, thankyouverymuch) and Steve Irwin's shows.

I'm pretty much in agreement with Ignatius on this one. Animal Precinct/Animal Cops is an excellent and truly compelling program that everyone should watch to see the horrors done against animals. On the other hand, World's Funniest Animals is very corny and the laughter during the show is so obviously fake, it makes me sick.
