I thought that this show was absolutely outstanding. It really does have everything in it and the characters are so well written that they are believable. It think that it was definitely as good as Buffy and in some ways better just because it is slightly maturer. Great show and I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a syfy show with fantastic story lines and awesome fight scenes, to buy the DVDs for it.

I will never forgive the WB for pulling the plug on it,forcing it to end inconclusively. That final episode felt so rushed and forced, because of it.

This was a rotten spin-off of Buffy. Now had Sarah Michelle Gellar made some cameos..then maybe I would give it 2 stars. Angel was really nothing without Buffy...no character without their love...

It took me awile to get interested in angel. I didnt watch it until James marsters went to it and well obviously buffy ended. But Angel is and always will be the best spinoff I have ever watched and one of my favorite shows.

Amazing....for a spinoff to make such a mark on its own is great! Angel is every bit as good as it predecessor, buffy, but with a darker more cinematic feel.

This is to AgentSydBristow, if you hate ANGEL that much then why comment on it. I think its a great show. And to write in and say these stupid comments about it is perfetic. I ain't saying that ALIAS is a bad show but I hate it. And thats my personal opinion and I have a right to it. And I know that its your opinion and its up to you whether u like it or not. But I bet you ain't even watched an episode of it have you, well not properly. You proberly just turned it on and judged it there and then. Im not saying every episode is fantastic. But a huge majority of them are. GREAT SHOW,GREAT CAST,GREAT DRAMA,GREAT WRITERS. (my opinion) lol AgentSydBristow (maybe I should write just how I feel about ALAIS?!)

It may not be the best show but I know if Buffy or Angel were on NBC, CBS, FOX, Or ABC they would do much better than on UPN and the WB where no once can watch the show. Angel is one of the best spin-offs yet.

This is by far the best TV show made in the last 5 years. It has even surpassed Buffy. The storylines keep you glued to you seat, they twist, they turn , and you never see it coming. It's what drama is all about. I love this show and am suprised more peopl haven't gotten into it. Sure there is the vampire thing, but it is so much more than a goth horror vampire thing. It is funny, it is so well acted, it is written by a group of geniouses, directed and produced in a manner that remains true to itself. It has never sold out. Well done to everyone involved and please leep making this show, because we love it

Impossibly, this show is at its very best in its fifth season. Heartbreaking to think Mutant Enemy won't have another year to develop this show even further. The WB is run by fools.

I love how people make personal attacks on this site! Just because some people like Angel because David Boreanaz is so hot, doesn't mean all fans think that way. How can you say someone doesn't know good acting? That's YOUR OPINION! Not everyone else's so quit with the personal attacks! Now, Angel is a very goos, sophisticated show with good plots and great acting IN MY OPINION! I like the subtle humour, that isn't as corny as Buffy humour could sometimes be. I think Joss Whedon is a genius. Angel is brilliantly written and the actors on the show can act!

This is a show that combines unique story lines with a cast of good actors. Although a drama, there is plenty of humor infused to make this one of the better shows for people of all ages. We will miss it. Shame on the WB

Horrible show! This shouldn't even be considered a drama! I mean come on! The acting is poor quality, the storylines are poor quality...so why watch it! Angel is an embarrassment to dramas everywhere. Want a good show...watch ALIAS!! Best show around!

I loved season 1-2 of Angel but was not that keen on some of the storylines in season 3-4 (although it was still better than pretty much anything else on tv), however I am enjoying this current season very much and was very sad to hear it had been cancelled.

I have not watched Angel that much but what I have seen I have liked. Josh Whedon is a creative and clever writer. I like the idea of these basically dark and evil creatures doing good and that they could at any moment fall into darkness. David Boreanaz is excellent as Angel, dark, brooding and at times witty. I really like James Marsters as Spike, an individual, very witty, sharp at times edgy and dark. The show doesn't have as tight of an ensemble as Buffy the Vampire Slayer or is as well written as BTVS, but it is still worth watching.

Due to a mincommunication in the family, I missed the first season of Angel. I had never been a fan of Buffy and I really didn't know what Angel was all about, so I started watching Buffy Reruns and got caught up on what Angel was all about. I was hooked. I have always been an avid fan of the supernatural and these shows, as silly as they might seem to some, appealed to that part of me. I love watching the character development of Angel, and to be honest, I don't really miss Cordelia or Connor. That was a strange time in the Angel archives. This season is a bit over the top, but after watching yesterday's episode with Lindsay in it, I can see where things are going again. Keep up the good job Joss!

I hope they renew it for next year. This show had a great season this year. I was very surprised by at least two plot twists (and I usually pick up on them in advance). Without Buffy for next year I'll need to at least be able to see Angel! BTW, I am not a teenager; most of the 30 somethings I know watch Buffy and Angel.

Angel is the best show on t.v right now. David Boreanaz is the hottest person ever and he is a great actor. The only character I don't like on Angel is Conner but luckily he was taken off the show on the season finale. I am already disappointed about Buffy getting canceled and if Angel gets canceled, I will never watch television again.

More quality work from the folks who gave us BUFFY ... alas, for me, this one doesn't live up to its parent show's promise. Perhaps it's just that my gender and orientation render me immune to David Boreanz's (evidently massive) sex appeal. Sorry, ladies, but as an actor, Mr. Boreanz runs the gamut of emotions from A to B. This was true of his work in BUFFY as well, where he was (though generally effectively-used by the writers) the least expressive member of the cast. Yes, the writing is good, and overall the show rises above most things I've seen in this genre, but its characters simply aren't as involving as Buffy, Willow, Giles et al., and the constant air of doom and gloom can get a bit monotonous.

As a diehard Buffy fan, I watch Angel because of its tenous connection to Buffy. However, the episodes beginning with the end of last season up to the present season mark the first time that Angel has consistently held my interest. I'd also like to remark on the folks who claim that this show, along with Buffy, is stupid. Shame on you! Though you may not find these shows your cuppa tea, they are not stupid. Though the subject matter of vampires and demons may turn you off, Buffy and Angel have subtext which carry complex, universal themes. College professors have written essays on these shows! So say you don't like it, or the topic is not interesting to you, but don't say it's stupid!

Fantastic show, great writing and acting, suspense, good character lines that keep evolving. The show has developed some depth and could be hard to understand the humor and twists if you don't stay with it. Love it!

not quite up there with buffy, and agree that doyle's departure was unfortunate, especially as he has been replaced by an increasingly dull lot. there is absolutely zip chemistry between fred and gunn, and poor old wesley always seems to be stiff upper-lipping his way through life's travails. Lorne, however, is fab - a sort of liberace-mixed-with-bette-davis cocktail sipping, karoake singing demon extraordinaire!
