Thu Apr 16 2009I've read a few other books about exorcism, angels and demons, and that related area, some by Catholics some by Protestants, and this book is probably the best to follow and truest. Interesting stories, good descriptions, and explanations of everything the author could talk about regarding exorcisms from the tools to the prayers to the methods to the steps and other interesting information. Don't worry, no specifics are given in here for the most part, and its not a handguide to performing your VERY OWN exorcisms, which obviously you SHOULD NOT! To clarify, actually every Christian can exorcise demons by deliverance prayer, but only exorcists have the power of the Church added to them for what I guess could only be described as an extra-efficacious power in exorcism. Get this book, send to all the New Agers in your life and watch them tumble or refuse to believe!

Wed Feb 18 2009I have to admit, this book was little hard to read at first, just because of the enormous amount of people that don't believe in exorcisms and demons that I am constantly surrounded and influenced by. I can honestly say that my eyes were opened a little wider after reading this book, and I am certainly glad I did. I must warn you though; this book will be hard to read if you don't go into reading it with a open mind on the topic being discussed. Overall, a very fascinating book on a topic that is generally portrayed incorrectly!(by the way, this is not Nancy, this is her son)

Mon Jan 12 2009The reality of Satan and his fellow fallen angels was once emphasised after every celebration of low Mass with the recitation of the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel, which both reminded the faithful of the spiritual battle that we must constantly be engaged in against evil, as well as the victory that can be attained through Heavenly powers. Such a belief is now not only held up to ridicule and contempt by an unbelieving world, but is also glossed over, ignored or outright denied by an embarrassed and naturalistic hierarchy. However, while perceptions of evil and supernatural warfare may have changed, Father Gabriele Amorth describes--often in vivid detail--how the reality simply has not. Indeed, as Father Amorth has previously claimed, the devil is more dangerous now than ever, due the overwhelming ignorance surrounding him and his activities. Writing from the position of the chief exorcist of Rome, Father Amorth gives us a glimmer into his extensive experience as a priest... Read more

Wed Sep 17 2008I've read from time to time many books on this subject and this and Fr. Amorth's other book are perhaps the most in-depth and detailed of any written. No fluff here...solid material and riveting. I also highly recommend Donald Omand's book Experiences of a Present Day Exorcist but it is out of print.

Mon Aug 04 2008What I thought would be a scary book, instead strengthened my faith and gave me new insight. Instead of promoting fear, it inspires hope and strength. Powerful deliverance prayers for lay people included as well. Fr. Amorth really tells it like it is and lets people know how to protect themselves. Would like to see more Priests and Ministers alike stand up like this. Found out more about the real reason for the Bible in the first 47 pages than I've realized in 59 years. Don't be afraid to buy this book...it's terrific!
