Sun Jun 24 2012I don't usually like light beer, but this is one of the best tasting light beers out there.

Sun Mar 07 2010If I was forced at Gunpoint to drink light beer then I guess I would probably choose this over those piss-tasting American light Beers. It has more flavor than your Bud or Miller, but overall it is a pretty bland and unexciting brew.

Wed Aug 19 2009Tasteless and bland piss. I don't care if it only has 95 calories.

Sun Jun 21 2009Amstel Light is much better than American light beers, but I really do not think it is worth the price. I will drink this if it is offered at a place with a sub-par beer list, but for the most part there are better beers out there. It is light, but has a bit more flavor (good flavor) than American light beers.

Wed May 06 2009Should probably be in a "light beer" category where it would be at or near the top of the list. Sam Adams Light is no doubt a better beer but it acomplishes the bigger flavor with another 25 calories and higher abv. So if you are looking for a tasty, light beer and money is no object, here you go.

Sun Feb 15 2009Not sure how they characterize this as light, it's a good, flavorful, full-bodied beer.

Fri Feb 13 2009It gets an extra star for the correct spelling of the word "Light" but, as an import, it wasn't really worth the trip.

Thu Feb 12 2009It's like Heineken with less taste. Not offensive, but is it really beer?

Wed May 28 2008Not too bad. After a few though I prefer something else

Thu May 01 2008Amstel Light is one light beer with character. It is too expensive for me to choose it over Michelob Light, or my favorite light beer Schaefer Light.

Mon Feb 11 2008Amstel is a nice Dutch beer, hard to believe that it is 'light.'

Mon Dec 17 2007No beer is really bad unless it is spoiled. That said, I do not like Amstel Light although I would say the same about all light beers.

Thu Nov 15 2007Why pay a premium for a beer that's nothing special?

Wed Nov 14 2007Unspectacular in almost every way. If I were stuck on light beers, I'd probably give it more of a shot.

Sat Jul 28 2007Its not great and its not horrible. I would buy a six of it, and see if u like it. Its not for everyone, but some love it and others hate it.

Thu Mar 29 2007crisp and clean, but nothing to write home about.

Mon Mar 12 2007Typical European premium lager. Thin bodied, watery and unremarkable.

Wed Nov 15 2006God-awful. I was at Applebee's one day and decided I had never tried this one, so I gave it a shot...it was absolutely disgusting. One sip was more than I could handle. Thankfully the waiter was cool and brought me something else instead, without charging me for that piss water.

Wed Nov 15 2006I went with drinkable, even though I never drink light beer (look at my belly if you don't believe me). Anywho... for a light beer it is very drinkable and has some flavor.

Thu Aug 04 2005I drink probably 2 beers a month and both are Amstel. I was surprised to find out that it is the light beer of Heineken. I knew both were from Holland and they have similar labeling but I never made the connection.

Mon Feb 14 2005Weak, colourless, tasteless, over-priced. What less could you want?

Mon Feb 14 2005Flat, flavorless. . .very overrated beer.

Mon Jan 24 2005Joe and Joanne Worker beer when they feel above Bud Light. Sorority girls drink this. nothing special except the extra buck you'll pay. do yourself a favor and get a Heineken instead.

Wed Dec 08 2004Love to drink it---------- 'til I can't feel feelings any more. (thanks-Peter Griffin, Family Guy)

Fri Jan 16 2004Can it get any lighter than this? It's barely there.

Fri Jan 16 2004This is my favorite out of ALL the beers. I drink this the most. It is good for almost any occasion, it tastes awesome, goes down smooth, never has a bad aftertaste. It makes you feel good, and it helps keep the beer belly stay away. This beer is a must if you are single or courting. I have never been hungover from this beer, and never suspect I will get a hangover from it. I recommend it out of all the beers !

Thu Jun 05 2003Beer for girls or waist-conscious homos.

Fri Dec 20 2002I'm only giving it a 5 because I'm treating it in a separate class from non light beers that are far superior. For a Light it's damn good.

Wed Nov 20 2002Gotta love the advertisments. 3 guys slapping themselves in the head will always get a laugh. As far as the beer. Good, not great as a general beer. As a LIGHT beer (which should only be for women and lightweights) it is really good. Good taste and if you're watching the carbs, take off the label and enjoy!
by viperguy96
Wed Nov 06 2002The best light beer ever!!! Goes down real easy and still has a good "beer" taste. A little pricey but still great. Well worth the price. Highly recommended!

Thu Jun 13 2002Ugh. Watery. Brings back bad memories.

Thu Jan 31 2002This is easily one ot the best light beers I have ever had, and the only light beer I will order. Good flavor, a light beer worth note.

Sat Jun 09 2001I never choose "light" beer due to its lack of taste, but when there is no other choice I thank the Dutch for Amstel because it is Top Dick in the world of light beer.

Tue Mar 27 2001The best tasting light beer around. Doesn't have the flatness of other lights. You'll be surprised by the body. A very cool, crisp taste.

Fri Oct 13 2000Amstel Light is in my top three along with Heineken. They might even count as one beer since Heineken makes Amstel light and they taste very similar. Amstel has become my safety net. Like when you go up to the bar, and the bartender asks what you want but you haven't thought about it and haven't had a chance to see what they have, well, Amstel is what I say when I go blank. It is a great way to start out the night. It is light so you don't get too full and bloated. Another all time favorite beer of mine.

Fri Oct 06 2000ALWAYS skunked, and ALWAYS overpriced. If a date of mine orders this overhyped, foul tasting beer, it's an immediate two strikes against her. Not that I'm superficial or anything... Anyway, Europeans should not be brewing light beers to begin with - it just doesn't make any sense. And if you taste this sorry ass beer you will understand why.
