Once in awhile someone actually captures something funny, but people falling down loses its charm quickly and the host is annoying.

Cretinous crap. Some believe it became obsolete when YouTube started. I'd like to think (without much hope) that it was obsolete the moment it was conceived.

It's a strangely diseased culture that's amused by mayhem and misery.

    Obsolete the moment YouTube launched.

I have watched this ever since it began to air. I don't care how much money is involved. I don't think I would want my most embarrassing moments to be seen by millions of people. Update: If the show is so obsolete, why is it still airing to this day, and why are people still competing for the ten grand? The show's been on for twenty years, and still shows no signs of letting up.

A classic program. I enjoyed it better with out the dreaded Bob Sagat. Although poor Bob also had to deal with the shows writters at that time. All in all a decent family show.

Origianlly I thought it was a mean spirited celebration of laughing at other people's misfortunes.  Either the show has toned that element down, or it was never as bad as I thought it was, or I've gotten a little more mean spirited in my old age and can enjoy that sort of stuff now.  They use the old show business trick of making the most of animals an kids to suck you in, it's my great guilty pleasure.  A Sunday supper ritual at our house, we can all laugh at the dog with the peanut butter on his nose and the bone head who is sawing the wrong side of the branch that he is sitting on.

This show's been on forever. It's still funny. It's amazing how much we laugh at other people's stupidity.

They should rename the show, "White People Do the Stupidest Things." But it is worth a chuckle now and then, especially when they show pets doing goofy things. Someday, I will need a physicist to explain why pants and skirts only fall down when you direct a camcorder at someone.

I cannot stand this show anymore. I got really pissed off the last time I watched it. There were too many people getting hurt, doing gross things, and little kids acting up. Ha-ha, too funny. NOT. My mom said she had no use for AFHV anymore, and neither do I. All of AFV's hosts were terrible, also. I cannot stand any of them. This show needs to also go off the air; I've had enough. Everybody stay away from this horrible show! To ABC and all the other channels who air this garbage: Take it off the air and show something that's TRULY funny.

The videos are often amusing and they aren't as sick or stupid like most reality shows we see today.

This was great when I was a kid, now it just seems to cheesy and non-funny, although there are some clips that make me laugh.

Yes, I too believe that someone video taping a person falling down or getting hit in the groin is funny... after being shown for the millionth time! The cockroach of TV, not even a extra strong can of Raid can kill this show.

Bob Saget has the King Merdes touch. Anything this man touches turns to shit. Is there anything worse in this world than his voice overs?

It was kind of funny when it first started, but now it seems 90% of the video clips are staged. And the dumbest crap always seems to be in the finals. I remember a fat women supposedly got stuck in her dishwasher. Yea right! And she won 1st prize.

I loved this show when it first started (I was 10), but now I have grown out of it and realized just how stupid it all is. I watched the last 20 minutes of last week's episode out of sheer boredom and the ONLY time I laughed was then they were playing the videos backwards. And I hate how most of the winners are the videos that involves young kids being just plain bratty and whiny. This coming Friday is going to be the $100,000 grand prize show and I bet a million imaginary dollars that the winner will be a video that stars a kid thats either being a brat or a holy terror.

Why is it that when a show includes the word funniest it always has a host that isn't funny at all?

Apparently this show will never die. The show is far from the worst thing ever but it's still unwatchable. The new host and Bob Saget did a good job with the material they had, but I HATED that Daisy Fuentes (who decided this girl is a star? Can she act? Can she sing? Who knows?) and her sidekick. The scripts during that period were very distasteful and showed a disturbingly low opinion of humanity.

Dated, staged, and just not funny anymore. This cocept is dead. Take this off the air and bring Mole back. You don't get much more intelegent then Mole, or much worse then America's Funniest Home Videos.

Most of us can barely stand our own on more than a very occasional basis, and when we do watch them we're spared the inane (poorly) scripted host chatter. Bleargh!

One of the better variety shows on TV, AFV shows a string of funny videos connected with amusing stand-up bits and audience interviews. I'm glad the show has run as long as it has. The only mistake was getting rid of the amusing Bob Saget. Tom Bergeron's not bad, however.

When Bob Saget originated this show back in 1990, this show was the tops. But over the years, it's aged terribly. It's now one of the most dated and boring shows on primetime televison.

The concept is great. If they could actually find enough funny real life videos it could be entertaining. But not only are not many of them funny but a lot of them are just mean. I don't enjoy seeing people get hurt. They even advertised once as "the show that lets you laugh at the expense of someone else." They lose me with that one. Then they always have always had some stand-up comedian to make stupid comments between the videos and they're never funny. It's like they're just trying to convince us that what we just saw was funny - and doing a bad job of it.

This was a really good show when it first started because it showed candid mishaps. But before long, people were just acting dumb in front of the camera on purpose, or obviously staging things to make them look spontaneous, and the whole thing got tiresome. (Remember the guy who laid down on the sidewalk and tried to imitate bacon frying?) The old Candid Camera program made the same mistake back in the 1960s. It began with people being themselves, then turned into a practical joke show where people were set up by the show's creators.

Not to many funnies ones. It's obvious that most of the them are staged. they waste so much time showing the same trailers over and over again. They make so a 15 minute show takes an hour.

America's funniest home videos. is right up there with all the other shows that encourage people to send in videos that are supposed to be funny. It is rare when I get a real belly laugh out of these shows. Usually the only times I laughed was when they showed animals who can sometimes be funny without trying. Kids can be funny but only when it is not staged. They show the same stupid stuff over and over and think we should laugh at the same sorry things. Like falling down,or losing their pants or skirts.{it may be humerous the first time I saw it but that is it} I especially hate it when people stage things to film and "act like they did not know it was going to happen"It is so obvious that a lot of videos are staged. What is real annoying is the people who choose the finalists to come out sometimes pick the the most unfunny ones of all to win the cash prize. I lived across the street from neighbors who sent in a video of their bird they taught to say 'here kitty kitty" The were chos... Read more

Talk about your old, overused jokes, really! How many times have we seen a dog chase its tail? How many times have we seen people fall off of ladders? How many times have we seen someone get hit in the groin with a baseball? Plus, I have heard most of these videos are staged anyway, not spontaneous at all. WAKE UP ABC! America's funniest home videos just are not funny anymore.

I thought this show was funny when I was like, 8 years old or something. Now, I find it really annoying, silly, and just a waste of my time and intelligence. I'll watch Friends before I watch this garbage. That says a lot.
