Tue Nov 04 2008I have always believed in and have had a passion in the ability to promote better health naturally though massage therapy. I had previously checked out other schools and their tuition was way out of my league. I heard about Alpha School of Massage waiving the tuition and couldn't believe it. Well, I have recently graduated and I have to say that my journey here has been absolutely amazing. Both, the knowledge and experience I have gained is priceless. Don't let the free tuition fool you. The quality of teaching is amazing, interesting and fun. This school just believes every one should have the same opportunity to have a career through massage therapy. You will not only learn the basic relaxation massage, the barefoot technique, but also therapeutic techniques that help with relieving pain and stiffness from a headache to neck, back or shoulder problems. Some of the other things taught with the course are protocols to help those who suffer from Fibromyalgia, Tension / Migraine Heada... Read more

Fri May 23 2008First of all: 1. You will get your cert (probably) if you go here. And that's what really matters. 2. In the areas of anatomy and physiology, and the technical aspects of massage, the instructors are top notch. But: 3. You'll get right about what you expect, for free tuition. It's not completely free. You will pay $200 to sign up, and $100 a month. They say this is for enrollment fees and facilities expenses. But you won't get any books for your money. And all you get for that $100 a month is free lotion and a place to study and do massages. A student's survivability here depends on how determined or thick skinned they are. The instruction is good, but the teachers tend to have more personality than professionalism. The rules change on a whim, are not documented at all, and fingerpointing is the norm. The instructors can be very endearing, but also very gruff, and you never know which flavor you're going to get, from day to day. In the middle of the program, for example, a 1... Read more

Fri Feb 15 2008As a student @ Alpha School of Massage I highly recommend this school to anyone interested in this field. With many schools to choose from, I had several questions and concerns. When I called Alpha they were running a special program and they were waiving the $9000 tuition ! I must admit that greatly influenced my decision. When I came to Alpha, I found out it was the oldest massage school in Jacksonville. Our teacher is great and he has an abundance of knowledge he has shared with us. We have learned massage practices for : tension and migraine headaches, low back pain, fibromyalgia, tempormandibular joint dysfunction, and a barefoot deep tissue massage. We offer these to the public along with the swedish relaxation massage. We have also had the opportunity to go to local businesses and offer chair massages on the employees. This was alot of fun. I believe that this school is dedicated to the massage industry and they have a desire to see the students succeed and they are not here j... Read more

Sun Feb 10 2008The Alpha School of massage offers people of all ages a great career oppurtunity as a massage therapist, training you in several types of massage, such as the TMJ, Barefoot, and Tension Relief. After graduating you have multiple job oppurtunities at your disposal, such as working at a spa, a massage parlor, or even opening up your own business and being your own boss. The hours are flexable, the people are friendly, and within a year of signing up you'll have graduated, gained invaluable experience in one of the most underused, and oldest medical professions in the world, and have learned more of then taking the same courses at a college

Fri Feb 08 2008I have been getting massage for several years now, and the massages that I get from the students at Alpha School of Massage are always great. In my opinion, they are just as good as the massages I have received from licensed therapists. Some of the massages that they offer can't even be found at most massage clinics or spas, such as their Barefoot Deep Tissue Massage. You can tell that the students want to please you and that they are really trying to give a good massage. I really enjoy the electric table warmer that makes the table toasty warm when I am on it. Not only do the massages feel wonderful, they are inexpensive, only costing $30 per hour. If you have never had a massage before, give this place a try, you'll be glad you did. If you get regular massage and pay $50, $60 or more per hour, schedule your next massage at Alpha and save some money. I'll bet you like their massages just as much as the more expensive ones. My hat's off to their instructors. I can usually call the sam... Read more

Mon Jan 28 2008If it were'nt for this opportunity for me to attend massage school, I would not be able to start my own massage business.

Sun Jan 20 2008Alpha School of Massage has a great 900-hour program that offers massage techniques, which most schools do not teach. Although, I have finished half of the program, there is still a lot, in which the instructors have to teach and that I have to learn. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are willing to help. At the end of the program, the majority of the students will have gained more experience then most, beginner LMT's. Update: The only reason most of the Ratings are 5 stars because the instructors had students write a review of the school. I would not recommend this school to anyone. The main instrutor makes up rules as he goes. More than half of the students dropped out of my class because of his rules and antics.

Tue Jan 15 2008Alpha school of massage is my dream come true.Without the school and its free tuition program I would not be on this career path right now. This opportunity has allowed me to make a better way of living for myself. Its one of those experiences that just has you stunned all the time. Stunned at how well the course is outlined and tought. The hands on experince is the best.We actually get to massage the general public on a regular basis. A priceless career move is what i like to call this whole challenge for me.And I love it.

Sun Jan 13 2008I am a student in the free tuition program. This program is teaching us so many aspects of massage therapy and our instructor makes it easy to learn and understand. Many students are starting a new career path, and some are recent graduations starting their first career. The school offers very affordable massages to the public, and they go way beyond just a standard Swedish relaxation massage, but that is also available if you prefer. You can come here regularly, its affordable, and just one way to take care of your body. Or enroll in the class yourself and learn how you can start a new career, or help people to feel better.

Sat Jan 12 2008Through much research I choose this school to attend, with their great instruction in advance medical massage. With the best training in relaxation massage, we are also learning many protocols (such as) for people who suffer with tension and Migraine headaches, fibromyaligia, neck, shoulder and back pain. This is also a great place to get a massage (such as, relaxation, back and shoulder, four hand and even barefoot) and at an inexpensive price.

Sat Jan 12 2008The Alpha School of Massage is a wonderful experience for someone looking for a career/career change! It is never too late and you are never too old! After investigating many massage schools, Alpha quickly became my top choice for many reasons: The scholarship program is amazing and the $9,000 tuition fee is waived! The education at Alpha School of Massage is advanced and on the cutting edge of this growing field of opportunities. Students, upon graduating and obtaining their state license, are well prepared to launch their own practice and are equipped with confidence to land a job in most any medical field, as well. The opportunities are endless! As far as student relationships - we are a family and we care about each other! A word of encouragement: It is never too late to begin a new career. You are not too old! If you care for people and want to explore how you can make a difference in preventative care, along with the natural healing process of many suffering with ach... Read more

Thu Apr 13 2006The therapist who did my massage was very informative being it was my first experience and she explained step by step what she would do. It was a little chilly but the expenerience in a whole is something that I plan to do in the very near future

Tue Mar 28 2006Massage by students at a reasonable price ($30/hr). Massages all take place in one big room, so it can get a little noisy. Therapists can give a good basic swedish massage, but don't ask for any specialized work. Temperature is chilly. Different randomly-assigned massage therapist every time. Some seem to care, others are just trying to make a grade.
