Even if you don't like rock music, you cannot not find at least one song to like on this album. While it may be true that this is not one of their best albums, the songs on it still prove that U2 simply works on an another level and that rock can be made in another way too rather than following the usual recipe (screaming+loud guitars+some melody somewhere around there).

I think the original working title of the album was "The Joshua Tree IV".

Although there are a handful of catchy U2 classics, the last 4 tracks are quite weak. Recommended: Beautiful Day, Stuck in a Moment, Walk On, Wild Honey. Overall a solid album.

2000s All That You Can't Leave Behind, scored 5 grammys, including best rock album, song of the year (Beautiful Day) and 2 of them for record of the year (Walk On & Beautiful Day). I has also sold platinum X4 to date. I rank U2s albums to date as follows: Achtung Baby All That You Can't Leave Behind No Line On The Horizon How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb Pop The Joshua Tree War The Unforgettable Fire This one is highly recommended for anyone that likes art-rock with soul and a variety of styles used for effect.

With "All That You Can't Leave Behind," U2 set out to conquer the world once again. So they did. Sports Illustrated.com ranked their Superbowl halftime show following the Elevation tour and 9/11 as the "best superbowl halftime show ever." If you are somehow still somewhat unfamiliar with U2's music, this is the album to start with. All of their different kinds of musical attempts from their first two decades are well represented here. If you prefer the 80's U2, this is the closest thing to that era's sound since Joshua Tree. If you prefer 90's U2, not to worry, they're still into some techno sounds and phat beats. Most of all, the love on this album is so palpable it radiates through each song. Listening to this album is like having an hour long hug from your best friend. No wonder U2 toured with a heart-shaped walkway to support this album. Beautiful Day, Stuck in a Moment, Elevation, Walk-On, Kite, In a Little While, Wild Honey are seven consecutive awesome heart-melters. ... Read more

When I first heard this album on my car's MP3 player, I immediately fell in love with the album. However after listening to the entire CD on my high-end sound system, I feel much like Alex from "A Clockwork Orange" - revolted and nauseated with the music I love. This seems to be the first U2 album to be subject to the destroyer of sound fidelity: The loudness filter. Forget about appreciating the guitar work, drums and bass. All those sounds have been mushed together into a giant wall of static. This album is impossible to listen to from beginning to end without getting motion sickness. And record labels keep wondering why CD sales are plummeting. I would love to send this CD back asking for a refund due to lack-of-fidelity. Save your money and just download the MP3s.

I thought "Beautiful Day" was an awesome single. But the rest of the album is crap. I guess their creativity is long gone. Not since "Auctung Baby" have they come up with a decent album.

In my opinion, this album falls behind the Joshua Tree album, but none the less, an excellent album by U2. There are many theological strings that run through this album with the most obvious being grace. As an interesting side note, the album cover is set in Charles de Gaulle airport, however there is no Gate J33-3. This was a purposeful change to the photograph and is a reference to Jeremiah 33:3!

An upbeat album with some of my favorite U2 songs, like Stuck in a Moment. People who rate this album poorly must just want U2 to recycle the same themes over and over again.

I think that this is a great record. From the rocking sound of Beautiful Day and Elevation to the slow lyrical triumphs of walk On and Wild Honey, this album proves that the old rockers can still make music to appeal to the younger generation.

Another incredible record by an incredible band. Collectively the album won 7 Grammys for this album. First four tracks are really great Beautiful Day, Stuck in a Moment..., Elevation, and Walk On are classics. Wild Honey also a good tune. Well worth the money if you like meaningful lyrics and appreciate guitar this album is for you.

This CD is so addictive. I bought it for the first song released off of it, and now it's like I can't seem to keep it out of my CD player.

I'm not an avid U2 fan but I do enjoy their earlier songs like "Mysterious Ways" and "With or Without You". When I saw the music video for "Beautiful Day", I decided to give U2 a chance and I purchased the disc "All That You Can't Leave Behind". Needless to say, I was somewhat disappointed. As it turns out, "Beautiful Day" is the only good song on the album but for $20 I don't feel it was worth the price. If you're a big U2 fan then you might enjoy the album. Otherwise, take a pass on this CD. It won't win any new fans.

I’ve been a fan of U2 since listening to “War” and “Unforgettable Fire” in high school, and I’ve enjoyed following the evolution of their music over the past 15 years. Like most people, I didn’t like their electronic-influenced stuff as much as classic U2 CDs like “War,” “Unforgettable Fire,” and “Joshua Tree.” So I was encouraged when I heard the advance word that “All That You Can’t Leave Behind” was a throw-back to the older U2. And I guess it kind of is. But something is missing. Maybe I haven’t listened to it enough yet, or maybe I’m letting a couple of annoying songs (like “Stuck in a Moment“) taint my impression of the entire CD. But for some reason I just don’t like this one very much.

This album is great. This band is GREAT. You can't go wrong. Also try The Passengers - U2 under a different name.

Don't get me wrong, U2 kick ass, not only their "Greatest Hits 80-90" but more experimental "Achtung Baby" and the brilliant "Pop", seeind the Popmart Tour live at Murrayfield Stadium, Scotland, UK. However, after listening over and over, the imense opening of "Beautiful Day", an instantaneous classic, everything pales and i found my self fighting not to hit the buttons on my hi-fi to skip on to the next track. This was an album which they won Grammys and Brit accolades for which only begs the question why weren't these idiots listening years ago. If your thinking of buying it, just listen to your mates a few times first, nato

This is one of the best u2 albumns. Being a fan for 15 years it is nice to see U2 go back to the simple stuff, although I am going to miss the drama of the last 2 tours. I hope they keep on rockin for another 23 years!

This is a real good album, very fun to listen to and cool songwritng!! I couldn't give it 5 stars, though, it just didn't blow me away. The only album this year that I gave 5 stars to is David Gray's 'White Ladder'. But I still listen to ATYCLB a ton!

Since there are no comments left by the people who called this album terrible, it's obvious they have not heard the album. No one could possibly call it terrible, sorry. This is a great album, full of soulful, passionate songs that only U2 could write. Highlights include Walk On, Kite, In A Little While, Wild Honey and Elevation. Sample lyrics: you could have flown away/a singing bird in an open cage/who will only fly, only fly for freedom/WALK ON! My favorite line, from Wild Honey: I'm still standing, I'm still standing where you left me/Are you still growing wild With everything tame around you? It's a GREAT album, whether it's as good as Achtung Baby or Joshua Tree, ask me in a year or so. For now, it's too early to say.
