I tried the Lemon kind Alka-Seltzer plus night time formula...and omg...was the taste one of the most disgusting things I've tasted!!! Made my stomach a little upset, but noticed my symptoms to be going away quite quickly, actually. Sure helped me relax and sleep through the night as well....I tell ya...I dread when the time comes to actually drink it, though..and am I weird? I wait to all the fizziness is gone cuz I think it might upset my stomach more since I gulp it down as fast as I can hahaha. Will try the gel caps next time, for sure :) It's nice to have something that actually works on me since Dayquil/Nyquil and Tylenol do absolutely nothing for me and I ignore the Benadryl..it doesn't exist to me...lol mmm..yeah, kinda tastes like baking soda.......

Jack Arnold from the Wonder Years would Alka-Seltzer like nobody's business after pulling triple shifts at Norcom.

Deadly in large doses, would be an effective torture method. I am referring to the original, which is the only one I've tried, just now. It tastes like saltwater and made me feel sick and then slightly relieved. I don't know if I have the will power to finish the glass

It didn't do much for me, but the bubbles are nice for making a fluish mouth feel better. If that's all it does, though, I'd rather be drinking club soda or 7up.

I always buy the nose and throat cold medicine, it works FANTASTIC for my nose and throat colds, i dont like to take tablets due to the no quickie effects compared to liquids cold medicine, plus, if i got a throat problem of a cold or flu, i like the medicine to tackle my irritation of the throat, i hate to wait several minutes for tablets where as the liquid drink does a quicker job, only thing is i wish the bayer company who formulated this medicine that contains citrus blend, would make more tastier flavors!!! otherwise, I LOVE this nose and throat cold medicine...IT WORKS FOR ME!!!!! another formula i like for the cold is the night time formula of the flu alka-seltzer...its a green box...that one is another great product!! only thing the prices for these are expensive like $6.99-7.99 per box!!

I really think this product works, but since they changed the flavor to the improved version I would almost prefer to remain sick. Great product.

Alka-seltzer cold is absolutely hideous. I don't care what you say--all flavors are disgusting!! But, it usually works. Sometimes not, though. Sometimes all it gives you is a caffeine rush and a racing heartbeat. Still, it's usually effective.

This is another good one to take. Fast relief and the night time AS gives you much needed rest.

It may sound very strange but Alka Seltzer doesn't do the full job. It may help a tiny, tinsy bit but that's about all. All it is is fizz, and you can get that from shaking up a ginger ale bottle.

I have had great results with this product. The cherry flavored one is actually not disgusting. Within 80 minutes pain has started to subside. But the best thing is that runny or stuffed noses go away very quickly and the whole body feels better. It's a great product I've recommended to others.

The flavor is a killer, and it doesn't always work until an hour later. It always makes me feel worse than I did before. Also, if you take it and eat certain food it can upset your stomach, especially if your stomach is sensitive- they don't tell you that.

Works very nicely to alieviate congestion and headaches. It does not make you sleepy. Definitely good for when a cold strikes during finals.

Awful taste. I do not appreciate the fizzing. It doesn't relieve my symptoms.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best cold medicine on the market. Almost instant relief for cold symptoms, and lasts a long time. At night I took one glass and slept all night.

Plop Plop Fizz Fizz...this is the only cold and flu medicine that actually works for me, and it works immediately. It relieves sinus pressure, eases my headache and genereal aches and pains so that I can relax when I have the flu. I must admit it is torture for me to drink it (I have moved on to the gel tabs which work just as well!) but it is worth it!

    What does Alke-Seltzer actually do?

Never really figured out what this stuff is supposed to do. Guess with all the fizzy action, you just assume it's doing something.
