Shouldn't that be Alexander THE GAY?

First of course he's great, duh it's in the name. Alexander the Great was way before his time. We still use his millatry tacktics today! He was a brillant man, and his death came to eairly. He could figure anything out with out having to think so hard. For instance, The Gadordean Knot was tied by an old ruler of the known asia. He had no children to pass his kingdom to so, he created this (almost impossable) knot. And said that he who undoes the know shall rule all of asia. Well Alexander was intersted so when he finally became ruler he dicided to see if he can undo it. Now just so you know this knot looked just like a voally ball, almost impossable to undo. But Alexander tried and tried, then finally he took a step back and talk with his council (more like friends) and he said, "It doesn't say how you undo the knot just that you undo it." To call Alexander "a sociopathic" killer is ABSOLUTE BS! In a time of conquering, the man believed that the best way to rule was to allow a conquered people to maintain their own culture and their own religion. He remains perhaps the greatest head of state and military leader in world history.

Spell check? Yes, he was an invader, and he was surely homosexual, but he conquered most of the known world an INFLUENCED western civilizaton in a way that has an impact TODAY. This is coming from a guy who has done some research, so try me if you dare.

Extended the map of the Western world that existed until Columbus. . .battle tactics that are still studied today. . .fascinating figure.

King Alexander III of Macedon became Alexander the Great - the world conqueror. Greatest of mighty men, this wonder of the world dazzled and amazed his age. Still the subject of epic balleds, the dream of the conquest of the East remains firm.

Although he was Macedonian, he is remembered as Greek's most powerful leader and successful conquerer. Alexander managed to wedge out the Greek Empire from Carthage, to Egypt, North into the Baltic, and even then pushed Eastward into Modern day India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. In the ancient world, he carved out an empire equal in size to that of Persia's. However, with the empire's size, there was great risk in loss. When Alexander was murdered, his generals and governors took over different parts of his empire, creating the Hellenistic kingdoms. Alexander is probably remembered more as an influnece because his conquests allowed the Greeks to learn that gunpowder could be used for the theatre and also led to the creation of future trade routes.

It is mainly due to Alexander that Greek culture spread so far throughout the world, Alexander did more than just conquer.. The Roman empire would probably have never grown to such promenance without him, Christianity would never have spread, contact between the East and West would have taken a lot longer. Then there are little things like founding the last egyptian dynasty, smashing the Persian Empire, and thus paving the way for the spread of Islam some 800 years later.. oh yeah he was influential...

Call me a nerd, call me what you must...but whenever I heard this guys name in world history class in high school...I would get goose bumps. I think it is very obvious that he was very influential and very powerful.....
