In a performance that is at once unsettling and charming, McDowell's portrayal of the teen-age sociopath is very intriguing. Nothing like a bit of the old ultra-violence.

Not a nice guy, but for some reason, I always liked him. He is a interesting, complex, and scary character. You can't understand him very well until the end and you eventually end up feeling sorry for him. I think, actually, Alex is a victim of a poor backround. His parents aren't very intelligent and his friends aren't exactly top notch type of people. I think Alex is just like some of the Ghetto-gangbangers you hear about in rap videos. They know no other way and it's hard to teach them.

Malcolm McDowell is an great actor...there is no doubt about that. He did a really good job with what he was given as far as this movie goes. But the movie itself was just a big mess...and boring at that...

He's real horrorshow. Alex is a wicked creature who thrives on the suffering of others. Malcom McDowell seems to have been born to play this role. His cruel stare and malicious tone seem to penetrate the viewer. I remember seeing his sinister stare for the first time on a tv special about the most thrilling movies (or some rot like that) and thinking how evil he looked. Right then I was drawn into the aura surrounding this film.

Poor little Alex. He has excellent taste in music but his taste in companions and night life courts a bit more controversy. We learn that his government has a certain interest in his well-being (and theirs). This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Oh, and bezoomny grooties on that one!
