I'm getting ready to head back to Missouri from Columbus, OH. I thought I would cut down through Kentucky to pick up some Ale 8 on the way back. I hit the jackpot with Ale 8 at a Walmart in Georgetown, KY some time ago, but that route would take too far out of the way this time. So I called three different Walmart stores along the I-71 route toward Louisville. The one in Florence said "never heard of it", the one in La Grange said "huh, what's that again?!" and one in Louisville thought it was some sort of beer!!! Right near Ale 8's backyard and nobody at these Walmart stores even know what it is, what a let down!! So, I'm checking the internet for possible other locations along the same general route that may know what it is. I thought everybody in north central Kentucky knew what Ale 8 was? I might just have to drive the extra 50 miles or so and go back to Georgetown to get it. And here I thought this was going to be easy!!!

Ale-8-One is a great soft drink that is unique to the south. It has a very smooth taste.

Its been a while since anybody wrote a review for this but let me be the first in over 2 years. Ale-8 is in my opinion the greatest drink ever! i live in northeastern kentucky which is very lucky because its one of the only places you can get it. I think it should be distributed all across the United States so everybody can try it and understand why it is the greatest drink ever!!!

Watch out - this stuff can be addictive!! It's a shame there is such a limited distribution area for this product. i wish I could buy it here in NC!

A true Southern treat. If you're ever in the Appalachian area I highly reccomend picking one up even if the only place around is an old general store with two old men playing checkers on the porch.

Just, flat out, the very best in taste, and overall enrichment. Glass Bottle, chilled in the old-time ice chest, it the best. Brackenridge Baker

Ale-8-one is possibly the greatest soft drink ever made. The first time I tried it I didn't like it much but then it grew on me. I swear it must be addictive because since I have started drinking it, I have had at least one a day.

Ale-8 is an understated kind of drink. It's got a smooth ginger ale flavor with a hint of fruit and vanilla and unlike most soft drinks, you're not thirsty again after you've had one. Like other ginger ales, it's also excellent when piping hot-- the ginger feels nice and tingly going down. It is by far my beverage of choice. I'm particularly annoyed by the fact that the reviewers who gave it a bad rating have either stated they've never heard of it or had nothing to say whatsoever.

I found this to be an excellent drink for large meals. It helps me digest my food better than other drinks and doesn't stay in my throat like heavy cola's. I've got acid reflux and take aciphex. This helps calm things a bit. Also, I found it takes about 3-6 drinks/servings/bottles to acquire a taste. Don't judge it on the first bottle.

I was born in Ohio in 1984 and moved to Kentucky in 1998. We always made trips to Kentucky to see family and we always bought what seemed like gallons worth of Ale-8 before we went back to Ohio. What did we do with all of it? We stockpiled it! Now I live here and Ale-8 is sold in Ohio, as well as many parts of the eastern United States thanks to Coca-Cola. Ale-8 is definately a Kentucky tradition that the whole world deserves to experience.

Thank you for placing this on your list. This Ginger Ale has a different taste that is great. It is only sold in the upper south and lower midwest but is worth buying it if your in the area.
