Alan, Paul & Cion at Traci Scott Salon

I have been going to Alan Conover for over 10 years, following him as he's moved to several new salons. Alan is friendly, the salon is relaxed and welcoming, and I always get a terrific cut. I frequently have highlights done, and Alan is wonderful with colors. (Just today, after visiting the salon, I got a compliment on how good the color looked -- and how it made me look much younger!). Many of my friends have their hair cut by Alan: Once he's worked his magic on our hair, you'll never go back to anyone else!

Cion knows hair, he has been cutting my hair for the last five years; it never gets boring. Cion is simply amazing. We always talk about what I would like and I feel extremely comfortable with him working on my hair because I know that when he is done, my hair will look great. The atmosphere of the salon is so relaxing and I love their coffee.

He listens to my suggestions and repairs the mistakes I suggested, that don't work out. He never overbooks, so you do not feel rushed. He "knows" color and gives the best haircut. I recommend him -- you won't be disappointed.

What I love about Alan is as soon as you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile. He is so excited to not only talk to you yet give you the haircut/hilites or whatever the service is as if you are the most important person of the day. He is fun focused and dedicated to his work. If you desire a very compassionate and talented hair dresser then you need to see Cion at Traci Scott Salon. Cion has been doing my hair for over 6 years and prior to him I have only had one other hair dresser in my umpteen years in Houston. Cion is truly gifted in hair color, cuts and styling. His first and foremost priority is to make you happy. I have naturally curly hair and with his talent in straightening, we manage my hair well in the Hot Houston Humid weather. I highly recommend Cion and love the salon that he has moved to with Alan and Paul at Traci Scott.

I moved to Houston a few years ago and did not know many people. I tried to get stylist recommendations from new friends. I went to a few of their suggestions, but could never find anyone that knew how to deal with my very thick and course hair. On top of that, I have it chemically straightened and like to add color to jazz up the boring brown. For those of you with hair like mine, you know that your stylist HAS to know how to work with it or it will end up being a big, frizzy mess. You just can't stop in at supercuts. I LOVE Alan. I love curly hair but I had given up on my curly hair when I first started going to Alan. He convinced me to let him try and cut and style it curly and it was great. AND he helped me figure out how to style it myself so that it looks (almost) as good as when he does it. Thats huge right? You know, you walk out of the salon with a fabulous doo and it never looks like that again till the next time you walk out. Very comfortable, friendly, casual environment. This was my first time at TraciScott and I sat in Justin's chair for highlights and a cut. Being someone who has been salon hopping for the last year, I have to say that I have finally found my home! Everyone was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Justin was wonderful and listened to the issues I was having with my hair and I left a very happy customer. In fact, I already made my next appointment! I Highly suggest this unique salon to anyone who wants that one-on-one feel that you don't get in large, hectic salons.

From the moment you pull up to Traci Scott Salon you know you are in for a treat. It's a great location with easy parking. The salon is located in an historic Montrose house that makes the atmosphere warm and inviting. It's a very calm, relaxing environment and you feel as if you are in your home with a personal stylist vs. being in a crowded, loud salon. Cion has over 25 years of experience and he was able to correct a previous haircut that had made my hair unmanageable. He is a master with scissors and a genious with picking a haircolor. Cion is one of the top stylists in the city of Houston and I would recommend him to anyone. I have yet to have a bad hair day since he has started working on my hair.

If this sounds familiar, Paul Reyes is your guy. I typically procrastinate when it comes to hair care b/c of experiences like the above. I am a well dressed, professional, 20 something who works in a law office. My look is well-maintained with attention to clothing, makeup, accessories, etc..., however, with my hair, I throw it up into the same up-do. I recommend Alan with full confidence that no matter what kind of hair you have or what your needs/style desire is he is will give you the perfect cut and color in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. I have long curly hair and he always gives a great cut, spends lots of time to make sure it is just right. I get comments all the time about how great my hair looks and all I do is wash it and take are of it, Alan does the rest :) As I began to get more and more gray in my hair Alan gentle brought me into a great and easy to maintain color. Again people ALWAYS comment on what a great color I have. My mother also goes to Alan and she has totally different hair than I do - thin and straight. Alan has given her a cut and color that brings her hair to life. It always looks great no matter how much humidity there is here in Houston. Alan is the BEST...really!

Ok, fine- I am picky. Some would say reeeally-picky. But mainly because I?ve gone to a dozen or more vaguely disappointing stylists before I found Alan Conover. He?s amazingly good. Alan?s haircuts are the kind where people ask me if I?ve lost some weight or started working out. (not to mention that I have several freakshow-level colic?s that are now completely invisible thanks to his work) The space is well-lit, interesting and most important- it has a good feel to it. I can always tell what kind of work goes on in a space by the general atmosphere, and every time I?ve gone in it?s been positive, industrious and damn funny. I?ve had a great experience with Alan Conover and love his work.

i've been to traci scott salon 3 times now and each time i've had a different yet amazing experience...every single time ! so far, 3 times...i've seen alan, christopher, and paul for color, cut, and blowdry/style. all 3 are fantastic @ their craft. relax...not matter what chair you land in, you will leave this duplex on west gray looking fabulous !!!!! keep up the excellent work gentlemen !

I have never posted any sort of review on anything but I just had to share the love with other girls with crazy curls. After 30 years of fighting with my hair and trying in vain to make it something it's not (straight!!!!) Alan has taught me to embrace my curls. He truly understands how to cut and style this type of hair. I've had multiple cuts from him and have loved every single one. The salon is great-intimate and so easy to get to, easy parking. I never thought I'd say this but I love my hair! I have thrown away my flat iron!

Alan has been my hairdresser for the past four years, and is truly amazing! I happen to work in the salon industry and I am exposed to many hairdressers on a daily basis across the country... in my opinion, Alan is one of the most talented hairdressers in the country. Alan has been cutting my hair for about 6 months. He is amazing and very talented. He is an excellent listener and always works with the client to create a great look. I like my hair and get many unsolicited complements. Usually my hair is a little difficult for me to handle right after a cut, but this is not the case since Alan has been doing my hair.
