Al Pacino, a legend I loved his acting in "The Godfather". I think he is the greatest actor of Hollywood. He did many great movies like "Scarface, "Serpico" etc. I am sure that he will do more great movies in the future.

Al Pacino, is a great actor. He's right in there with Robert DeNiro; it's like they're twins. Anyways, he can also do a variety of films. I like it in his newer movie 88 Minutes, where he played a very witty, but funny forensic psychiatrist who has struggles of his soon becoming death. "Say 'hello to my little friend,"' could be the most known Al Pacino quote from the movie Scarface. Long live Al Pacino!

Used to be an excellent actor, but in roles subsequent to Scent of a Woman he shouts his lines rather than says them with dramatic effect. Compare his performance in the first two Godfathers with his performances now. Whatever he had back then he's now lost.

I liked his early work better. Since Scent of a Woman he sounds like Foghorn Leghorn. He seems to have forgotten subtlety.

One of the most overrated actors to perform in front of a camera. Is capable of displaying exactly two emotions, namely, insolence and anger. Half of the time he's totally over the top, shouting rather than delivering his lines, and the other half, moping about, inaudible. It's like watching a manic depressive go through his antics. Furthermore, he's always playing tough guys, but, when you consider what a sawed-off, shrimpy little dwarf he is, that macho posturing strikes one as absurd and unconvincing.

Like DeNiro, he is a little stereotyped but I love him anyways. He gives me chills as a bad guy and in other more laid back roles, I always root for him

While I love the majority of his movies, I think it is a stretch to say that he has a "wide range" of characters.  ..And Justice For All was probably one of the few I saw him take an EXTREME turn from his usual stereotypical "mobster/bad guy" role.  Even in The Recruit ~ while being a CIA agent, he still had the unlikable quality that is Pacino.  Bottom line ~ he is awesome, I love him, but he is, and always will be ~ more preferred in the gangster roles.

This mans just a living legend if there ever was one. Second to nobody in the acting world he's just.... you know what? forget it! Its not he's not worth a review he just really doesn't need one his legacy does that for him so he doesn't need a another review from another crazed fan but I'm sure he appreciates it though. He's the only man to nearly upstage Marlon Brando (and that was his first major film!) now a days he wouldn't even struggle if he was still alive (by the way no offence to Brando he's another god of acting just not the top dog) he can upstage anyone anywhere even the great De' Niro. His best performances include Scarface, Godfather 1-3, Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico and the list just goes on.

I think Pacino is a little overrated, but he's great at what he does. His presence is not to be ignored on the screen...his dynamite personality reminds me of De Niro. He's sometimes a little too melodramatic for my taste, that's why he didn't get a perfect 5 from me.

And Justice for All was awesome, not to mention a few others. Sure, he has had his share of "clunkers" but Tinsel Town does not make them like Pacino anymore....geez...who do we have today? Oh yea, Britney Spears!

His best movie ever was "Serpico," and it's been downhill ever since. Highly over-rated.

One of the all-times greats, he has sadly resorted to playing caricatures of his former self. It all started with his over-the-top performance in 'Scent of a Woman' and it's been all downhill since. Fortunately, for a ten year period and few instances since he provided some of the greatest performances I've ever seen...'Serpico', 'Dog Day Afternoon', of course 'Godfather' and 'Godfather II', 'Sea of Love' and 'Carlito's Way' are among his best. His transformation from righteous war-hero to cold-blooded Don over the course of the first 6 hours of 'Godfather' movies is devastating and incomparable, and is enough to forgive any indulgences (and paychecks) we may have had the misfortune of watching the past few years.

Although he did some terrible movies (see Simone), Al Pacino is one of those actors that kinda makes you forget that the screenplay has no sense at all. He has a certain magic that completes each one of his roles, he has charisma although he is not good looking, he knows how to blend in, he knows how to get your attention. You can hate Al Pacino or you can love him, but you cannot be indifferent, and that is the best quality that an actor could have.
