Most people want a wedding photographer to know what they are doing but also not be set in their ways. Derek is that guy. He's been in the business long enough where you really don't need to tell him anything and you will still get phenomenal wedding photos. He knows what pictures to take and how to manage time whether it be a few hours or a few minutes. On the other hand, if there is something that you want; a certain pose, background, group of people, he will change his "norm" to accommodate his client. Prior to your wedding day, he will also give you a lot of "food for thought" on what you can do yourself to improve your photos throughout your day. Something that someone who has seen it all can do.

Derek was our photographer for our engagement pictures as well as our wedding pictures and I would highly recommend him to anyone! My husband and I both freeze in front of cameras but Derek helped us to feel comfortable and relaxed, and thus was able to capture some amazing and very special moments. Throughout the process, he was very personable, yet professional and a breeze to work with. His expertise and familiarity with wedding photography allowed our wedding day to flow smoothly and without a hitch. We received our proofs via DVD very soon after the wedding and were truly impressed with the quality of his work. Derek takes amazing pictures and we are thrilled with all of ours- and there are tons to choose from!

I am a wedding coordinator/planner and I enjoyed working with Derek on a wedding we had together this past September. He was very busy when I first called him, but told me what I needed to know and then I felt pretty confident knowing he had the timeline for the day and photography start time all set. He was very efficient with pictures and got some great shots of my bride and groom. He does amazing work for a great price because he loves what he does!! I just wanted to say that the pictures taken of our daughter's September wedding were the most beautiful of any I have seen anywhere. Now I know I am prejudiced with the pictures being of my child, but I took time before we contacted Derek to look at a lot of pictures on a lot of websites and his are as good as it gets. The photographs have given us incredible memories of their special day. Not only were the pictures well done but he was so kind and easy to work with. His professionalism sets the standard for the industry.

Derek was so much fun to work with. He was very creative and completely captured the photojournalist look I was going for. When searching for a wedding photographer, I found the Affordable Photography web site and the prices seemed too good to be true. So, before hiring Derek (Affordable Photography), I checked him and the company out with the Better Business Bureau and on line reviews on several web sites. I found nothing but positive information. He even has a great photo of downtown posted on the Nashville.gov web site (just go to Nashville.gov and search on Derek Lee). I cannot recommend Derek Lee of Affordable Wedding Photography highly enough. He was absolutely wonderful to work with. At our very first meeting, he spent an hour and a half answering all of my questions and just talking with me about what he does and the services he provides. On the day of our wedding, Derek arrived right on time and ready to start shooting. He made sure that we were on schedule so that we didn't miss getting any of the pictures we really wanted. He was efficient and extremely easy to work with, giving great direction and taking a wide variety of shots. My husband and I also found Derek (Affordable Wedding Photography of Nashville) on the internet. We were immediately impressed with his work. We researched many, many other photographers, but we always came back to Derek. He did a wonderful job with both our engagement and wedding photos. He was very professional, very patient, and he was like a ninja at the wedding (where he took over 600 photos!). When I told people how many there were, they couldn't believe that only one photographer had been there. The photos are all so beautiful!! We absolutely love them!!! I would highly recommend photographer Derek Lee to anyone for their wedding photography. He was very professional, courteous, organized, and his pictures are wonderful! My daughter and her groom live out of town and were unable to get to Nashville for engagement and bridal portrait sessions. The only pictures that they were able to have were taken were on their wedding day- which of course, is the most important day. Derek was able to capture that day beautifully! The pictures are everything that we hoped for. Our engagement pictures were wonderful and captured us so well. Derek Lee was an absolutely amazing photographer. He was the best price we could find for the best quality. His wedding photography packages come with absolutely everything you would need and for a good price. The prints we received from him are very nice and professional looking. He was very willing to work with us to rearrange the photography package. On the wedding day he was very energetic and professional. We had a very tight time line to stick to and he made sure to stick to it without being pushy. We are very pleased with our pictures and would highly suggest booking Derek's services.

Our daughter recently married at our home in October. We used Affordable Wedding Photography, Derek was our photographer and my husband and I would like say we wanted to give our daughter a beautiful wedding, but our budget was limited. I just read the unfortunate post of someone that is not happy with Derek. Well sometimes things are taken out of context and misunderstood. As far as my dealings with Affortable Weddings (Derek) I couldn't be happier. I have exchanged e-mails with Derek a couple of times since August and spoken with him on the phone once. I am just now reserving him because it took so long to get a date reserved through the church. I have been very pleased with my communication with him. He has ideas and that is what makes great pictures. His work speaks for itself.

All the pictures were beautiful! Everyone who sees them comments on how clear and vivid the colors are and wants to know who the photographer was. The 11 x 14 of Megan and Chad in the wheat field is the perfect picture. It totally expresses the two of them! I can't stop looking at it! :-) Someone who saw the wedding pictures said they heard one of the top 10 prettiest places to have a wedding this year was a South Dakota wheat field. Derek captured the picture in KY!! Derek gives top quality photographs at a very reasonable price including great turn around time on initial viewing and orders of wedding photos. I am sooo glad we picked Affordable Wedding Photography. We could not have asked for better service. Everyone at the wedding loved Derek. He was so professional and so kind. And to some it all up our wedding pictures were EXTREMELY beautiful. He made me look like a princess, which was the most important!!! We found Derek on line. We live in Florida and making arrangements with Derek over the phone and e-mail was not a problem at all. When we met with him and looked through the sample albums we realized that he is the right photographer for us. We wanted candid pictures that told the story of our wedding day and he captured our day perfectly. He understood what we wanted perfectly. He was punctual, professional, unobtrusive and very creative with the shots he took. The pictures were of very good quality and we got many compliments on our choice of photographer. My experience has been great so far. My bridal portraits turned out wonderfully and I received so many compliments on them from friends and family. My husband and I found Derrick on the internet after much looking around. We went to his studio and looked through his albums. We instantly knew he was the one for us. We got a free engagement session when we booked our wedding. When i saw the pictures he took of us at the park I was amazed. I think we got 50-60 pictures and they were perfect. We got them a couple of days later in the mail in a nice portfolio with the CD and copyright so we could go to Wolf camera or Snapfish and print as many as we wanted and in any sizes that we wanted. I found Derek via the web. The thing that caught my eye about the photos posted on his website was their beauty, creativity, and very 'real' quality. As an older, second-time bride, I didn't want a lot of photos with 'posed' lines of people all dressed alike. I wanted photos that captured the happiness and love of our wedding day. Derek did all of that beyond my my greatest expectations. And in the process even managed to make a chubby, 49 year-old bride look good!!! As I look through our portfolio, I find myself smiling and enjoying our wedding day all over again. These guys are terrible, they shot my son and I got the pictures back and there were images with the heads cut off and the prices were outrageous especially for the poor quality of prints that I received, I would not recommend these this company for anything maybe the army because I complained to them about this and got nothing in return no reprints nothing all they said was all sales are final and that if I would like I could set up another shoot at half off, great service, they need to learn customer service! Derek did a fabulous job for our May '06 wedding. Living in NY, we relied on the internet to find a photographer for our Tennessee nuptials. We discovered after hiring Derek that he photographed my brothers wedding 6 years earlier and that we also had attended the same high school. I took that as a good omen and it was. Bonus is that he is also reasonably priced!
