Mon Oct 27 2008I bought my mom tickets on Aeroflot twice. Kiev-Moscow-Washington DC. Both times there were problems. Late flights, minimum leg room even for my small mom, bad food. Both times her bags were cleaned up. First time nothing major was stolen so, we did not complain. Since we know, it's almost impossible to get Russians pay. But second time on her way back, although, there was one and a half hours leg break between her flights in Moscow, AEROFLOT was not able to transfer her bags on time. One and a half hours break and that's not enough for Russians to transfer bags from one plane to another. They brought them to her day later, half empty. They are saying that because the weight was not registered somewhere, they won't pay. So, yeah, fly AEROFLOT if you want that experience. Oh, yeah, and she has flown same rote twice before, me and my wife have flown many times with different carriers and NEVER, never our things were stolen.

Mon Jun 25 2007Flew Business Class in June LAX to Moscow...... One of the best service flights I have ever taken and I fly a lot. Service was good, food was good, flight was on time and seats were comfortable. I will book Aeroflot to Moscow from now on.... Bag was lost when I arrived in Moscow and took 2 days to get to my hotel, however that was DELTA's fault, not Aeroflot......

Tue Jan 17 2006I have flown Aeroflot many times now and satisfied for the most part. At least better all round service than British Airways. The worst airline in the world in my opinion and experience. The jets have all been relatively recent air buses. I've flown much worse on British Airways. I've even flown in broken seats with British Airways. The Aeroflot transatlantic flights have provided me with good cabin service, interesting meals though. Once in Russia things change. They run stripped out planes with few amenities, not even overhead carry on luggage compartments. It all gets piled in the back as you board and they wrap a cargo net over it. The Aeroflot check in at JFK couldn't be worse or located more poorly...like try to find the damn thing. The airports in Russia are something else. Small, crowded.......really poor facilities. I recall that I have always deplaned unto the tarmac and taken a shuttle bus to the termonal from the plane. Everytime!!! Waiting for luggage ... Read more

Tue May 03 2005Fun for flying old Soviet stuff if you are interested in older aircraft. They lease western makes for their flights into western airports.

Mon Nov 15 2004I've flown on it once. Nothing special, but it was still better than Continental.

Sun Jan 12 2003I wonder how many of the people criticising Aeroflot have ever actually flown with them. Having taken about 40 flights on Aeroflot in the past three years, to many places in Europe and Asia, I can say they are underrated. Sure economy on the Tupolevs is not too comfortable but on the western aircraft it is ok, and Business Class is fine. OK not as luxurious all-round as leading western airlines, but quite reasonable and good value.

Mon Aug 28 2000You won't catch me on an Aeroflot flight. Aeroflot - doesn't the name itself sort of sound something out for you? I'm not getting into anything Russian that goes above or below the surface of the earth. Safety standards for Russian vehicles = -2. I've never heard anything good about Aeroflot from any of several people I knew abroad who have flown them.
