    I wish I could give ZERO stars. Their security is terrible; my site was thoroughly hacked. My content was wiped out and replaced with hundreds of folders and sub-folders of hacker material. ADDR decided put my account on hold - which was basically denying me access, yet leaving the hacker material online free to be used as a phishing site. |ADDR never notified me. It took me 6 weeks to find out my site was offline. They canceled the so-called hold on the site, and told me to clean up. But I could NOT - the hackers had changed the permissions such that I could not delete their files, and accessing the File Manager through the Cpanel gave system errors. They would not (1) restore my content from backup (2) delete the hacker's files (3) refund me the 8 months of unused hosting fees when I decided to ditch them.

    These guys are complete crooks.Their India office has been using freelance writers for various content development works. They have not paid anyone for the last 3 months. The kept promising to pay, citing technical problems and managed to get people to work for no money for a long time. Now everyone has gotten fed up and queries about payment are not even being replied to. Funnily enough, this company had a good reputation in India till now,which is why people got fooled by their promises to pay.

    Surprised to see that these thieves are still online. Years ago they overcharged my credit card by several 100's of $ and tried to steal my domain which I only managed to get back after several weeks of dealing with the registrar and faxing lots of stuff to the US. Definitely my most painful experience with a hosting company ever!

    I was also billed for money I was not sure I owed but could not prove I didn't. I did not want to give them my card # again so I sent them a check instead but they claim they never got it after five weeks. I have never lost a check in my sixty odd years but I guess it can happen, I stopped the check and I gave them permission to use my card for one time only for the the amount of $400. GUESS WHAT ! THEY BILLED ME TWICE. I had the card company remove one of the billings and now ADDR. says they did'nt get any money and they are going to bill my card again. I had my card company rep. ADDR and my self on a three way call and the rep. told ADDR that the money was paid to them but they still have my web site held hostage and I have been going around in circles with them for three months I now tape all my conversations with them (with their permission) I am now thinking of taking back the $400 that they say they don't have and tell them to send me an itimized bill for the $400.

    Do not ever give this company your credit card info. Unless you want to be billed months or years after your account is closed.

    I cannot get these guys to cancel an old account, no matter what I do! I've filled out the cancellation form, I've called, emailed, spoken to "supervisors", used their online chat service to speak with a CSR...and I'm still getting billed for almost $700! I've now resorted to filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We'll see if that gets ADDR's attention.

    I had a similar nightmare scenario with these guys. I signed for one year. Didn't like the service, cancelled and moved on. That was 2002. I just got an email (2007) where they claim I owe $728! They refuse to provide the original agreement. I never agreed to automatic renewal. Guys, is it time for a class action lawsuit? Contact me at [email protected] Subject ADDR ClassAction. Ernie.

    I have had a horrendous problem with Addr.com. I have been with them for a number of years, with really no problems or issues to speak of. In April of this year, I had them host a new web site for us and placed a year billing on my credit card. The amount was to be for $221.44, for one year web hosting. When I got my monthly credit card billing, they had charged me $885.82. They had billed be four (4) times for the same site hosting. When I called the company, who now outsources to India, they would not resolve my issue on the phone because they said they wanted me to fax them a copy of my credit card statement. There is no reason for anyone to send a copy of a credit card billing for charges made incorrectly by that company. If they have legal and proper accounting practices in place, they would be able to look up the charges and determine where the problem is.     Unfair & Deceptive Billing Practices - Buyer Beware! I first became an Addr customer in December, 2000 when I signed up for a 1 year prepaid hosting package, with an option to renew each year for $107.24. I was generally happy with the functionality and ease of use of the hosting service at that time. I renewed twice with my credit card, the last renewal occurring on 12/16/2002. Based on the order I placed, the hosting relationship should have expired on 12/16/2003, which would be fine as I did not have a need to keep the domain active beyond 2003. Recently, when trying to renew my domain with Network Solutions, I was informed that the primary contact for my domain was still Addr and I needed to first get that contact changed. Upon my support call, to my complete surprise, I was told that my account was still open now 4 years later, & I had an outstanding balance of $429.84 that needed to be paid immediately.     I've been using ADDR for a couple years now and they're fantastic. My website has been around since 1994 and ADDR is by far the best hosting company I've come across. Their downtime is non-existent, they have shell access for a low price, and their customer support is very responsive and insanely superior to ANY other webhost or ISP I've been on. I highly recommend them.

    They suck i could use php and mysql but perl would only work if i contacted tech support i knew of them when they first started they have came a long way but i really dont see how do yourself a favor and find a different host.

    GREAT and very responsive tech support. The main problems are that they have a relatively slow connection and slow servers. Besides that, they're fine.

    WARNING the tech support and billing are horrible and the worst. This is the kind of an ISP that makes the Internet a piece of crap. They had billing problems with my account, they said there was problems with my card. Thats fine things happen. Instead of contacting me by email or phone, especially when I started to accrue a balance, they did nothing. Not knowing there was a problem I just kept going. For the better part of a year my website did not work. The tech support did nothing. It was not a problem with my site it was with their servers. It did work for a day here and there but I basically did not have a site. Then when I said thats enough and cancelled my account I had this 200.00 balance. Tech support said they emailed me about the problem. Thats a joke, I use the email I gave them daily and never saw anything. Did they bother to call, no. Did they comp me the time that my site was not working, no. They just wanted to keep charging me a fee until I paid the balance even though... Read more
