About 2 months ago, in my quest for a new job after being laid off from my corporate position I had held since college, I was stuck and had heard of this company while living in the Atlanta area, but never acted on it. I was testing out many recruiting firms in the greater Atlanta area but didn’t come up with much that seemed to help. Needless to say I ended up moving away from Atlanta to Greenville and finally to Charlotte in order to be with my fiancé. I was excited to know that one of the recruiting firms I had spoken with in Atlanta also had a NC base as well. Therefore, I thought that I would give their Charlotte branch a shot. And I was surprised to see how different it seemed from the other firms I had experienced right from the beginning. I was welcomed by several wonderful women right when I stepped off the New York loft style elevator and into the sleek and modern office space. My recruiter, Adrian, was just as cute as could be and one of the easiest and kindest rec... Read more

I met with one of the Staffers or Representative of Accrue Partners 2 years ago, after relocating to Charlotte, from the North East. I was very astonished with the “Lack of Professionalism” I felt, it may be more advantageous for me after-all... Then, I was told to restructure my resume, in other words, “dummy down” my qualification (MBA and over 12 years of experiences) in order for me to find a position/job, and after weeks of back and forth of communications. Finally the Staffer/Representative called, with very excited news, she found me a great Temp-to a possible Perm position paying $13.25 an hour. . What an insult yo years of my hard work. It would be interesting to qualify these so-call Staffers/ Representative and have them endure the same processes and protocols.

I had the unfortunate luck of running into this agency through an ad I saw listed for a position. I sent them my resume and was contacted by someone. I went in and met with Heather. I drove 25 minutes to get to this meeting that was completely worthless and was a total waste of my time. Heather was very rude to me and kept trying to get me to agree to take a job that was a temp job when that was not what I was interested in. I found that the jobs that they had listed on the Internet were not really presented well and did not really exist. The jobs that they did present to me were jobs that I had already seen on my own. I was contacted one time again by Heather after I wrote her an e-mail and called her twice. She was again quite rude to me. I understand that they are not techinically working for you, but if they didn't have the employees then their business would not survive. I would think that it would be in their best interest to be at least civil to the people who come in ... Read more

Just stay away if possible. Took the time and money on gas to go to the office and take those pointless placement tests and scored very highly on them but they didnt care; granted I live 25 min away. I had to go there 3 times and get that "first interview" done which was a waste of time by Gina C who was 'my recruiter'. She tossed my initial interview papers because, I guess she felt that I wouldnt help her sales and commission, she was also very rude and yawned and acted bored and made it seem like I was taking up her time. Was told that some of the companies wanted people from Duke or Carolina so they would have to see what they can do for me. It took 3 months of going back and forth to get to that point. After she got her promotion, she acted like she was done and above 'entry level' recruiting. Wasted time going back and forth to an office who snubbed their faces at people new to the job marketing and asking for their help. Most of the clients/companies associated with AP are no-na... Do not be swayed by the alarmingly false negative reviews on this organization. AccruePartners is an exceptional search firm with a very talented and caring staff. Having working in the staffing industry for several years, I can easily explain some of these "bad experiences" with recruiters not calling back or finding a job. People think that recruiters "owe" them a job and that is must be exactly what they are looking for at the highest salary possible. What they don't understand is that while the recruiters are there to help the candidates and in most cases, want to help place them - THEY DO NOT WORK FOR THE CANDIDATES...they aren't paying a dime - the companies are, and the recruiters aren't going to present a candidate to their paying client that doesn't fit the background, education, or subjective mold simply because a candidate thinks that he or she is the best thing since sliced bread. I have worked with Accrue partners on both ends - as a client and as a candidate and ca... Read more

I originally wrote a great review on Accrue but within the last year they have gone down hill. They have let go of their best recruiters and now have novices running their office. They never return calls or email inquiries (which they claim to be the best way to contact them). More reasons to steer clear, if you are anything more than PERFECT, no pimples, bad hair, weight or a high dollar suit and handbag they will not find you a position. Patti Comer and Amy Nolan are all about the superficial and a lady named Smitha has told me that if you are anything less than perfect an employer will not hire you because the employer thinks that you won’t take pride in your work. Mind you that I showed up in a beautiful Ann Klein suite and a high-end ladies briefcase. While in their office I overheard them speaking about fat people and not to send them on assignments….. YIKES! Also steer away from any temp assignments that they will send you on, they won't pay you any more than $12.00... Read more

My first impression of this firm was great. I met with Gina C who was extreamly nice and friendly. She was very professional and made me feel like she would help me find a position soon. A few weeks after I started working with Gina I was passed to another person because Gina was being transferred to a new department. The new employee does not return my calls or e-mails. I have never received any job notifications. It has been over 6 months since my initial meeting with Accrue and I have not been contacted by them once (althought I have tried 19 times to contact them). Very unprofessional organization. I was very disappointed in their service, do not waste your time by meeting with them.

Wow, I had a great experience with this firm. I was referred by a friend who was placed and met several people in the accounting area and was placed in 30 days. I had a Recruiter who listened to me on my criteria and she only called me on those searches. I found their offices very open and cool, I met the partners twice and they seem to have their pulse on Charlotte and very helpful. I would definitely recommend them. And, my new employer has used them often and as a primary supplier.

I wonder how long "Mindy" has worked for Accrue? Nice to see that those gals are paying her to do more than just catch the phone. Too funny. Everyone who has worked at AP calls the place 'hell'--no one likes anyone, big-time lying--both to clients and candidates, and manipulation of internal work force featuring lots of in-fighting fueled by, as one survivor tells it, 'those two women who hate each other." Just FYI--from someone who's close to someone who worked there.

I was recommended to this business and researched it before contacting them, finding this website. I kept these posts in mind, but wanted to see what my own experience would be, especially since this company had been highly recommended to me by a trusted and competent professional. I've worked with several temp agencies in the Charlotte, NC and have to admit, this company was one of the fastest and most professional to respond. The communications we've had thus far have been numerous and productive. The interview process went very smoothly and again, very productive. So please don't let the reviews below be your only source of information about this company. I have been extremely pleased so far.

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL They had no clue as to what they were assigning me... I received a call about supporting a VP while the EA was gone; typical EA/AA work. I agreed, and spent 9am - 2pm hand addressing and stamping envelopes. The job did not have any computer or phone access, they were "farming out" the EAs duties to the others. My job for the next 3 weeks would be data entry. (How was this going to work with my skill level? I'm a 12 year veteran of working at a CEO/CFO level, with 15 years total experience as an EA/AA) I told the agency at that time there was a SLIGHT chance that i'd get a last min interview that day, and they said that would be OK. I got the call, apologized for the short notice but I had to leave w/in the hour. Heather actually argued with me, then HUNG UP ON ME. I was shocked at how unprofessional and rude she was. It's the last time I'll be working with them.

This recruitment agency left me with a bad taste in my mouth. They said to dress 'business casual' which I did, but know one that was employed there looked decent enough to take to dinner. My recruiter was far less knowledgeable about recruiting and resumes than someone off the street. She ripped apart my resume because it didn't look like the template from Accrue Partners and she was asking me questions from a prepared sheet. She stated that I should remove my management in retail from my resume because people look down on that...WTF. Whose born with an MBA? She stated that EVERYTHING on my resume should be bulleted; that would have made my resume about 5 PAGES!!! And the recruiter thought I was being unreasonable for the asking salary I requested because I am making that now. I am looking for new employment to further my career, not shot myself in the foot. I will not be taking any of their phone calls. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AGENCY TO ANYONE...EVEN MY ENEMIES!!!

Called me to take a job and when I said I was already working through another agency they started asking million questions and tried to tell me I need to work with them only etc....very rude, felt uncomfortable.....most of the positions they offered were more low end and did not pay the salary that the other agencies offered. Told them to remove me from there database
