I have had a very long horrifying experience with ABF U-Pack! I have been gouged once and put up a fight ever since. I have had payment turned away over 24 different times. People have hung up on me, when I call back I am told I am "harassing them". I have now been told that once again payment will not be accepted and my belongings are being SOLD! This company constantly changes things and the employees do not communicate with each other, at first. I have been pushed around and when I push back I am hung up on. I have been told this is going on to long, like I don't know that! The people at corporate take many many calls to get a call back. Everyone at this point is trying to ignore me and I am being forced to hire a lawyer to see justice. They try to make it seem like a none paying case. But it just is not. I have been trying and trying with no sucess. Just when I thought it would come to a decent conclusion and I would be reunited with my belongings no such luck. A company has no leg... Read more

I would never use them again and recommend everyone not to use them. they don't take responsibility and their drivers and office people straight out lie! They all give you different answers, they don't even talk with each other so they have the same information or answers. They know they did wrong and admit it but won't do anything about it. Please don't use them, there area a lot of other companies out there we can try. If enough people stop using them, they will have to do better and try harder to treat people right and take responsibility.

After reading all of the positive reviews on ABF we chose the company to do a small move for us. From the initial phone call and cube drop off to the on-time arrival of the cube at the destination, this company rates #1. Chris Cadell who handled our set-up through emails was great. He was very patient, courteous and thorough in answering all of my questions in my early research. Even the driver who handled the cube drop off was very friendly. I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a professional, stress-free company to work with. What a plus that their rates too are reasonable!

We moved from Illinois to Arizona during the holidays and I have to say this company was 1st class all the way! A live person answered the phone every time I called. From the initial drop off to the last pick up. All friendly and knowledgeable from customer service to the drivers it was a great experience. Absolutely nothing was damaged during our move and we just about filled the 28 FT truck. Remember people it is self pack and that's why it's affordable. These are your belongings so pack smart and tie down. I would highly recommend this company!!!

I used ABF to move from New Jersey to Montana and every part of my move went very smoothly! The customer service was excellent! Every time I called them with a question a human being picked up the phone immediately, I was never put on hold. Every employee from the customer service reps to the drivers at both terminals were pleasant and very helpful. If you pack your things well, it will arrive intact. I'll definitely use ABF if I move long-distance again.

Well, this company does not even deserve one star, and I would seriously recommend not using this company to do anything. For a long distance move, it took a great deal of time to make a decision as to whom to choose knowing that no move would be without incident. Well, using this company and all its sub-branches is a HUGE MISTAKE!!! Not only were prices misquoted and billed, but the subcontractors used for packing were so bad that we have more damages than what the cost of the move was! No one kept in contact, and their so-called Move Mangers are of no help, and all you usually get when you call is a voicemail as it's very difficult to get to speak to a live person. One of their big scams is they will tell you that they have no one to unload you so in that method then they do not have to provide full insurance coverage, though actually they do have subcontractors in every state as they use a company called Moving Staffers [not quite sure if this is a part of them as ABF, U-Pack... A wonderful moving experience from begining to end.Initially contacted Van lines movers and there were charging more than $1500/$2000 for my 1 apt move from tampa to edison,NJ. Then I contacted u-pack and door-2-door option was around $1100 but terminal-2-terminal was damn cheap $650 so I naturally went for it. My household stuffs like 1 queen mattress+queen box spring, crib, king size bed frame (dismantled), couch (3 seater + love seat), drawer and lots of carton boxes fit into 8x7x6 ft relocube. Infact these stuffs were just enough to pack the relocube. Initially I doubted that so much stuffs will go inside a small relocube but dismantling furnitures (as much possible) and use more carton boxes (so that they can be stacked over one another) did the trick.staffs at both the terminals were kind enough to give me some buffer days to load/unload stuffs. Overall very nice moving experince and recomend definitely to others.Few precations you have to take while packing the relocube like he... Read more

Absolutely terrible company to deal with - tacked on hundreds of dollars to my move because they were unable to hold up their end of the bargain. Eventually I just gave up and paid another several hundred dollars to have movers come and empty out the cubes into a u-haul truck and drive the truck to my new address. They absolutely would not help at all, would not offer any advice, and would not negotiate. Completely useless waste of all of the storage money and the initial investment in the cubes. Absolutely recommend that everyone avoids this company like the plague, and I will be filing an official complaint.

Didn't care to read the other reviews because these guys rescued my husband and I when Storage and Relocation totally blew it. They had a truck out the next day, no short notice fee and deliver was perfect. Excellent customer service group and drivers were friendly and skilled. It does not matter how much money I have in the future I will always use this company. Best price and I although we had to load our own items, it was well worth it. I have heard horror stories about expensive movers that go through all your stuff and play with your toys.

My "relo-cube" arrived last week in Missouri from Cleveland. Every question I had, contact with people on the phone, and the drivers on both ends all represented OUTSTANDING customer service. The driver delivering the empty cube said to buy "ratchets" at Home Depot.... to secure heavy items, then pad furniture, and boxes. ratchets 4/$14. Cheap insurance! I've moved enough to know the value of correct packing, padding, using plastic stretch wrap etc. The contents included a few pieces of furniture and many boxes including very fragile antique chine, hummel figurines etc remaining from my Mother's possessions. When the relocube was opened in Missouri, everything was completely arranged and in tact as it was when we loaded and locked it. I question that many of the damages people claim are actually from incorrect packing, or not securing the contents of the cube so they didn't shift in transit. The move occurred during the 1st week in January 2010 with weather and... Read more

This is a business ABF should not be in. They have no customer focus whatsoever. Our "3 business days" move has now stretched out to 10. For a move of less than 800 miles! Our trailer spends far more time sitting in terminals waiting to be transferred than actually moving on the road. You may think you're saving money by using them, but factor in the hotel bills, the restaurant bills, and the considerable inconvenience of waiting and waiting and waiting for your belongings to show up, and it winds up costing you more. If I had used a U-Haul (or equivalent) truck, my belongings would have been at my new house before ABF even picked up the trailer from in front of my old house! Yeah, I hate driving those things, especially towing a car, but it would have been over and done with long ago. Oh, and the bulkhead they provided to separate our stuff from the rest of the trailer? Broken. Never again. Remember, friends don't let friends use ABF U-Pack Moving.

Working with the company has been very easy so far, they have all been extremely helpful and have made this difficult experience much easier. They are a very economical way to move.

No Stars No Way Never Again-Terrible!!!! I was recommended this company by a website call moving scam and the moderator talked so good about them. My items were damaged and the ramp was narrow and rickety. They move freight and other things. I went with them for the price. I guess you get what you pay for.

I am filing a complaint with the BBB. How in the hell could they be rated an "A"? Something is wrong with that. They left the trailer sitting in front of my house for an entire week (I called them twice every day to come and get it. Nobody returned my calls). They finally came and got it and took it back to their terminal. Somebody on a forklift at the terminal then punched two big holes through the bulkhead and through the back of my sofa - pushing the entire load forward and breaking many things including the cedar chest from my wife's deceased mother. ABF offered to "settle" our claim for $.10 per pound. Which means they want to give us $135. Their negligence destroyed our stuff! Do yourself a favor and avoid these people like the plague.

No stars should be given for this company. They failed to get my address for my move and have yet to deliver my trailer in the 4 hour window which began 3 hours ago. I was on the phone with their corporate office and local terminal for 2 hours this morning. The manager I spoke with at corporate hung up on me. Their delivery times are all approximations and nothing is guaranteed. Getting a secure delivery time will cost you, literally.

UPDATE: Abf WILL PAY NOTHING, zero for my $15,000 in damage of furniture that they are responsible for. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and have had to hire an attorney. Use this company at your own risk. My family has been left without furniture thanks to ABF U-Pack. We hired them to move our house hold furniture and items from Charleston, SC to the Houston, TX area. What a disaster! Our furniture looks like it went through a tornado. Nothing was unloaded that wasn't broken, scuffed up or completely destroyed. Glass was shattered everywhere. Our amish furniture completely scraped up. $3000 Kitchen table- legs busted in half. Desk legs busted in half. Grandma's antique china that was packed with tons of bubble wrap- shattered. Our amish bed- bed header split down the middle. I could go on for hours describing the MASSIVE DAMAGE. Worst part- I have yet to get a response from my claim and I may have to hire an attorney to get some reasonable compensation. I used ABF U-Pack because of... Read more

We just finished moving our son from UIUC in Urbana, Illinois to Santa Clara, CA. The whole transaction was incredibly smooth. No hitches. The cube arrived exactly as promised and we loaded it in a day. We got the smallest size which was more than enough to hold the contents of an efficiency apartment. The driver had to get creative, as the location for the cube was blocked by construction. We tracked it online as it traveled by rail to San Jose, where it was stored until we found an apartment. Delivery was prompt, as promised, too, and the driver even helped us unload. Everyone I had contact with was very courteous and helpful and I have no complaints at all. What could have been a really stressful move turned out to be just fine! We paid $1497 for the transit move and then $125 to store the cube at the destination, since we didn't have a delivery address yet. The local offices (Champaign-Urbana and San Jose )were both very helpful Be sure to secure the load inside the cube. Th... Read more

When my husband and I moved from Santa Barbara, CA to Ohio last winter, we chose ABF as our moving company. We used their Relo-cubes storage units. The units were well built, very safe, and secure; worked beautifully for our needs in moving our 2 bedroom home. The cost was competitive and the customer service team was not only very helpful and accommodating but also very pleasant to work with.

Moved from Canada to California. The container was clean and in good condition. Loaded a Relo-cube at the origin ramp, and delivered to door at destination, exactly on time. Polite customer service staff and driver. A stress-free experience throughout, but you have to be a careful packer and stack your goods appropriately, as the load can shift. I also recommend sealing all boxes and covering furniture to avoid dust, although this wasn't a major issue in my case.

Moved from Salem, OR to Burbank, CA and it was wonderful.  We filled 1/2 the truck and found our items in good condition when we unpacked (just some normal scratching from the vibration of the move - semi trucks do that.).  On time and competitive rate.

I suppose I never would have used this service if I knew the extent to which my beautiful things would be damaged upon arrival. At first, I thought this would be a good thing, cheap and relatively easy. I did a terminal to door move. Loading was super easy. I just packed my boxes carefully and loaded them along with a two dressers (the extent of my furniture at the time) and a desk and left my belongings in their hands. First, my stuff got held up in Arkansas for 3 days, only about 5 hours from my Illinios residence, on the way to the destination: san antonio So, after they had told me my stuff would take 3-4 days, and after all of my help had to leave San Antonio before my stuff arrived b/c of work responsibities, I was left waiting in a new city, all by my self. As if that was not bad enough. My newly painted dressers will need to be painted again, for they are scratched, dented, and dirty with dirt and grease. One of my kitchen appliances was found smashed on the ground ... Read more
