I HAVE HAD HOME SERVICE ON NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED BETTER. AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS I WOULD SUGGUEST TO GIVE ANOTHER CHANCE. THE SERVICE I RECEIVED WAS AWESOME. THE TECHNICIAN CHAD CAME OUT TO MY HOME ON A 100 DEGREE DAY, MY A.C WAS NOT WORKING WITH 15 MIN HE FOUND PROBLEM ADVISED ME ON WHAT I NEEDED. HE DID NOT HAVE PART ON TRUCK, SO ANTOHER REPAIR MAN SHOWED UP THAT SAME AFTERNOON AND MY CHILDREN AND I WAS ABLE TO SLEEP IN COOL HOUSE AFTER THE NIGHT BEFORE WE WERE UNABLE TO SLEEP DUE TO THE HORRIBLE HEAT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. FROM THE FIRST CALL TO THE OFFICE WHICH THE YOUND LADY I SPOKE WITH AS VERY FRIENDLY. WHEN THE TECHNICIAN WAS ON HIS WAY I RECIEVED A CURTOSIY CALL TO LET ME KNOW THEY WERE ON THERE WAY. MY WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS DIFFERENT THEN ANY OTHER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEICED. THANK YOU ABA.. I WILL DEFIENTLY USE THEM AGAIN.. GOD BLESS

I don't normally write reviews, but felt compelled to warn the rest of Austin about ABA. I called them when my A/C went out on a Saturday in 108 degree weather. They were the 3rd call I placed, and the only company that could come out right then. 20 minutes later, the tech arrived. He replaced a fuse I had blown installed a new t-stat. $50 visit charge, $80 fuse. Seemed high, but okay. next problem was the A/C just didn't get cold. Tech says freon was leaking. $200 to investigate further. Ok. After investigation, he says coil is leaking. to fix the coil is $1500. He recommends replacing the entire system b/c Obama's new regs require freon changes in 2010 and if my system breaks then I'll have to replace the whole system. his cheapest price is almost $7K. I politely sent him on his way during which he became more persistent. Monday another A/C company came out, said freon was low and every unit loses a small amount every year. No leaks found, he charged the freon and went on his way... Read more

This company charged me for parts that did not fix the problem. When I called back to tell them the repair did not help they said they would come out within 2 days, three weeks later (and endless calls) nothing. When I called to dispute the charge they said read the small print, sorry no refunds. I paid hundreds of dollars for nothing.

We hired ABA to install an air conditioner. This unit has broken multiple times within the last two years and cost us hundreds of dollars. This included a leak, which was due to faulty installation. (They said our dog peed on it which caused the problem, lol!) They also "repaired" a second air conditioner's fan motor. Within a few months the fan motor starting making noises. They returned and said it was a faulty part and would cost us over $300.00. We got a second opinion and it was a minor fix because the fan was incorrectly installed. In addition, there was a leak in the unit in the attic. We called them to repair it, but the leak returned in a different place in 18 months. We called a different service company and they said the drip pans were incorrectly installed.

I've been a facility manager for close to 20 years, I've seen a lot of repairmen and service technicians. Don't make the same mistake I did by calling these folks. These folks are by far the worst I've ever seen and frankly they don't even deserve the one-star ranking

If you do not see a service man take your A/C or appliance apart and actually test it be real careful.Make shure that you really need to replace the item or unit ask alot of questions.Observe the tech testing whatever is wrong and show you what lead them to that deduction. If they do not take it apart and show you what is wrong get another company to come out and see what they say.If they need to sell you more parts they did not diagnose it right please don't be fooled into buying something you don't need. Most of the time it can be a little fix and if they say the unit needs replacement get another opinion.Do not let them know you had another company out always act like the second company was the first and never let them see eachothers invoices. You be the judge just use common sense and always ask plenty of questions.Don't jump the gun just because its hot out and your A/C is not working get a motel room if you have to get comfortable for a night to get another company to come out.I can... First, I was strong-armed into signing the invoice. The technician lied and said I could not find the part required for less than $229. Of course I found the part for $67 online. I contacted them immediately, but they side-stepped and ordered the parts before talking to me. They also failed to call or show up the day of the first appointment. You'd have to be out of your mind to use ABA Appliance! The 5 star rating listed in these reviews was obviously written by the owner.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I would not recommend them to anyone. They do not back what they sell and it has taken numerous attempts to correct a problem with an air conditioner. It has also caused floor and mold damage.

A while back my condenser unit's fan motor was making a loud noise. I ordered a replacement motor from the internet. But then the noise stopped so I held onto the new motor. Later I had a problem with coolant leaking. ABA Appliance serviced this by replacing my air handler. No problem so far. A couple of months later the cooling problem returned. I called ABA because to me it seemed like they failed to fix the leak when they replaced the air handler. The ABA service man investigated the problem and said it was the condenser unit fan motor. I believed him because I remembered that it had been making noise a while back and that I had even ordered a new motor for it. But then he told me that a new motor couldn't be ordered and that he would need to replace the entire condenser unit (which was less than 2 years old). He looked embarrased when I showed him I had already ordered a motor. I asked for a quote to install it. He said $350. That seemed too high so I turned it down. ... Read more
