Sat Feb 06 2010They will get you to come in with the promise of a free tow and free diagnostic and will even give you a reasonable initial estimate, but it's all downhill from there. If you give them the OK to take your transmission apart, be ready to write a blank check. Also, they are slow and their promised call backs are non-existent. It's quite telling that the only positive reviews here are written by their staff. Stay far, far away!

Thu May 07 2009Turns out I was somewhat unfair and perhaps a bit harsh when I passed judgement on the folks at the Shoreline AAmco. It turns out there was more damage to my son's transmision than I thought and while the price of the repair was high, it was just. When I picked the car up, Rock the gereral manager, met with me and explained things to my satisfaction.

Wed Mar 11 2009I just want every one to know that customer service, and customer satisfaction is our top priority at AAMCO. We have a new owner, and a new manager, and everything is discussed in great detail, prior to any authorizations at all. I have worked for AAMCO at the corporate level, and at the center level, and I am now the general manager for this new owner. You will be 100% satisfied with your job, or you can talk to Roc, or Rod (the owner) on the phone at first call. Nothing hidden, or no run a round guaranteed by me and the owner. Just give us a chance and I promise you will not be disappointed.

Tue Feb 17 2009so my car was at aamco 1 month it was supposed to be a 560 dollar job and then it tuned into 2100and something dollars the whole thing was a nightmare i have a whole blog about it but it is to big. first manager gets fired price changes , problem changes oh and i have had to spend 100 dollars since getting the car out to fix other problems they caused . after ripping our transmission out twice they put our brakes in wrong and did not give us an alignment we still have to get a diagnostic because the check engine light will not go off. the financing company went bankrupt so yeah i am very unhappy with them and plan to go to the bb and the attorney general to report this company Doug is a big liar as far as I am concerned! also they should have told us we needed spark plugs and Oxygen Sensor which we found out elsewhere when our car had new problems it did not have before

Thu Jan 22 2009The guy's at Aamco in Shoreline are the best. My 2000 Durango had a shifting problem, so i took it to the local Dodge Dealer and they charged me $135 to diagnose the problem. They told me I needed to replace the transmission with a new one for $2879. I took my truck to Aamco for a second opinion and was I surprised. They checked it for Free, and then said I only needed a govenor sensor and solenoid to fix the problem. The cost was $279 and it drives great. Now that's Honesty and Integrity! I want to thank Doug and the crew at Aamco in Shoreline for a fine job, they have gained my trust and business for years to come. They are under new ownership and management and I highly recommend all my friends and associates to take their cars to Aamco in Shoreline. Again, thanks Aamco for a job well done.

Bait and Switch Nightmare!!! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory Following a free diagnostic, I was told that My transmission could be fix (not even replaced) for $1695 plus tax. This seemed very expensive, so I asked for a guarantee that the transmission would be completely fixed for this price. There was no mention that there could be additional costs-they were clear that this was the final price. The day came wh... Read more

Mon May 05 2008Be warned! The last review was from 2006. It's 2008 and it's really no different. The staff is unbelievably incompetent! Though I have nothing bad to say about the mechanics. I had to have my transmission rebuilt only to have to wait 3 days with no work done because they had my wrong number and address. Had to go back in two weeks later because of engine needed a tune up and didn't here from them after being told I'd get a call from them the same day... they had the wrong information... again! Like the first review stated... management has no idea what's going on.

Sun Sep 17 2006We brought the car in for a small leak that had developed recently. I figured they could pull the transmission, fix the leak and be done a lot quicker then the time it'd take me. They did their initial inspection, gave me the inital estimate, and I said to go foward with pulling the transmission. Shortly their after I recieved the first call, stating that would like to reseal the transmission. At this point he gave me a cost estimate much higher then originally quoted. I asked about the difference and he said he told me the wrong quote originally. This was the first sign. They then confirmed that it was just a minor leak. Nothing was wrong with the transmission, but they'd replace the front (and now they added the back seal as a percaution). Nothing happens for 3 days at this point. Bob (the store manager) no longer knows what is happening and suggests that I call his manager down in Tacoma. The transmission has since been moved there. I talk to Chris, who won't rese... Read more
