16. Grand Canyon National Park

I have been to the Grand Canyon.  It is spectacular!  I would like to see it again sometime.

When one first sees the magnificence of this place, one will gaze for several minutes before fianlly realizing their mouth was hanging open the entire time and they had not been breathing.

The Grand Canyon is indeed quite a site to behold. And to consider that millions of years of history are recorded in this place in layer upon layer of rock going down thousands of feet into the Colorado River. It is indeed just a hole in the ground, but its quite a spectaular one. Try visiting in the fall or spring, when the crowds are gone, the weather is good, and that haze that occasionally clouds it up is gone.

Incredible, one of those "take your breath away" places. Get down to river level for a really spectacular experience.

This is my number 1 on my wish list of U.S. destinations!
