It's not exactly an exciting foodstuff, but I do find myself eating a ton of the stuff, usually as an accompaniment to something else-- beef stew, chili, chicken ala king, turkey, etc. As Twinsalem notes, it is essential for Chinese food, and, if made properly, rice pudding is a great dessert (made improperly, it's horrible). I think I started eating a lot of it as a reaction to the potato; I don't hate the potato...I still occasionally eat one...but it seemed as if we ate so many of them when I was a kid that I just became thoroughly bored. Hence-- rice, which is, realistically, just as boring.

It depends on how it's used. It's needed for Chinese food, but I'll pass on the rice pudding.

Currently, this is the primary ingredient in most mega-brewed beers like Bud, Coors, etc... It has far more value as a dinner supplement.

Rice is good once in a while, but needs to have some gravy or something on it.  Without it, it's blah.

I like rice. It is versatile, and seems to go with many things. Some people use them in place of potatoes.
