If you consider Lincoln Park and Lakeview to be "the place to be" when you're just out of college and in your 20's, then Lincoln Square is a good place to move when you start feeling a little more grown up (or at least are starting to entertain the idea of it). You see fewer singles and more couples in their 30's with pets and/or kids. There are still plenty of restaurants and bars, but instead of clubbing or bar hopping, you're more likely to go out to one place for dinner or drinks. The brown line runs right through the neighborhood, as do several reliable bus routes, so it still has the convenience of other neighborhoods. Plus it's a little cheaper to live in the Square than it is in Lincoln Park. All in all, Lincoln Square is a fantastic place to be if you're at the right stage of life.
