I am a huge sports fan and grew up cheering for the Washington Redskins. Although I realize sports stars and other celebrities are people just like anybody else, some of them do have an effect on us without us truly knowing them. Sean Taylor was about my age with a daughter close to the age of my own son. I didn't know much about him personally, but I sympathize with the situation he found himself in before his death. It is truly tragic for somebody to be attacked in their own home with their family present. Regardless of the circumstances of Sean's past or what led to his murder, it is truly sad the way that he died. This situation shows fans that despite the glorified life that pro athletes lead on the field, tragedy and hard times can fall on them just as they can with anybody else. My prayers and condolences go out to Taylor's family, friends, and teammates.
