 | inthemud (2) 06/16/2008 | while I love all of Pink Floyd's albums, especially Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall is my all time favorite album of any musician, by far.

The band sank itself into its greatest excesses one last time on The Wall and produced a fairly successfull magnum opus of all that they had been building upon over the previous four albums. It was heavy yet still accessible and spit out the strangest hit of their career, Another Brick in the Wall Part 2, which played like a dumb teen anthem out of the context of the album. It would have made a perfect swansong of an album, however to this day we are still presented with a spectacle of aging gentlemen who trot out the old glory every five years. Sad really.
