Although at first hearing the album back in 1985 I was quite taken aback at the quite sterile and clean production, it nevertheless is a stunning album. The musicianship is tight and faultless throughout.

Standout tracks are The Big Money, Grand Designs, Manhatten Project and Marathon.

A classic Rush album and my second favourite album by the band just pipped to the top spot by the masterpiece Moving Pictures.

The mellotron has no place in this album, and some of the filler (Emotion Detector in particular) is questionable. However, the brilliant Mystic Rhythms, Manhattan Project and Territories make up for it. The Big Money and Marathon are also very good.
