Having watched him all year, Maggs is my wish list pick.  If he played this way last year (not that he played bad last year, just that if he put up the numbers this year in the run the Tigers went on, ie, World Series appearance) I think he would win.  But, unfortunitely, the Tigers didn't make the playoffs, and that almost runs you out for an MVP.

His first season with the Tigers was tough.  Huge paycheck and a bad injury.  It is just good to see that he is earning his paycheck now, putting in two MVP calibre seasons.

Its too bad though; Cash lost to Maris in 61', and now Ordonez is going to lose to A-Rod in 07'.

Had a great season, but in my view its tough to pick an MVP from a team that didn't contend.

Granted, Detroit made a run at a playoff spot, but it was pretty lukewarm, and Ordonez for all his skills, wasn't enough to put them over the top.

Unfortunately for Ordonez, and a lot of other guys on this list, the balloting for this award is pretty simple. I frankly expect Rodriguez to be an unanimous choice, despite some excellent work by various players on this list.

The National League voting is likely to be much more wide open.		2

Ordonez would be my 2nd place vote for 2007 AL MVP. He was the AL batting champ, 2nd to ARod in RBI, and 5th in runs scored. He certainly is worthy of being named MVP, but Rodriguez was just better in terms of stats. Detroit also didn't have a playoff season, which doesn't help Ordonez's cause.2
