The original Mortal Kombat arcade game was great when it came out. I threw away a lot of quarters on this game at the local pizza place back in junior high. Recent editions of the game have tried too hard to make it more than a 2-D fighting game, I think this was a mistake. Mortal Kombat was simple and violent, that's what made it fun.
