Nothing special in '07...their GM is good though, he'll probably get it together after a down year. Somehow, this team winds up contending every year.

They were able to defeat Minnesota this year, but Detroit made their lives miserable. Yet, the Athletics have always been a strong team. Nine World Series wins, on different teams at that, is a pretty big background to say the least.

Have had some of baseball's greatest teams and some of their worst squads ever ( same with players- some of the greatest and some of the very worst) in their long and interesting history in 3 different cities. It remains to be seen how they'll turn out in the near future, they're kinda in flux, but they're usually a contender of late.

They always fall flat on their a** in the playoffs every year and that's all the more reason to hate team. Go Giants!

Bottom 5 in BA, LAST in HR (all of baseball!) They lost their top 2 pitchers, no wonder they reside in the cellar.

I am a season ticket holder and love following this team. Though the A's have come up short the past five years, I am proud they grow the majority of their talent, unlike the free-agent laden Yankees and Red Sox. Hey Boston, that kook, Trot Nixon, is the only starter from your farm system. I know the blow hard Yankee and Sox fans will say we use Oakland as our farm club. And you clowns are proud of that? Win or lose I have a sense of civic pride as an A's fan because the players are born and bread in the A's family. Red sox and Yankee fans, if everything is so much better in your towns, tell your pals Vinnie, Richie, Tony, Marky, and Brian to stop moving here to live their California dream on our dime. Lastly, Boston, the slang term wicked-cool is the dumbest, thing that you half-sissy's say.

Read Moneyball by Michael Lewis and you'll learn how there really is a method to this team's madness. Sooner or later, Billy Beane's unique, well-informed way of designing a team is bound to pay off.

They have solid offense and field adequately, but the Real Deal here is the starting rotation, which is probably the best in the major leagues. Young and hungry team that has a winning attitude and have gained valuable playoff experience in the past few seasons. These guys should either win their division or will be the wild card team in 2003: either way, they are the team to watch in the American League.

Another year of Zito, Mulder, Hudson, Tejeda, and Chavez translates into the A's going to the World Series in 2003.

I didn't really watch the A's this season at all until the playoffs. I really enjoyed watching them play the Yankees. They put up a good fight and played tough. It was a great series. I wish it could have gone to one more game. I look forward to watching them next year.

What a likable and talented young team... I loved how they battled back against the Yankees in Game 5 - there was no giving up, no hanging of their heads. With Giambi, Chavez, Grieve, Tim Hudson, and T. Long, this team has a nice future. Let's hope they stay humble.

The Reds and the A's have pit together great and exciting teams of unknowns for cheap!

Perhaps the most overacheiving team in 1999. Great general manager, good young players. Watch out for Tim Hudson.
