I wouldn't say this is a must have except for pajamas/nightgowns.  Especially in winter, I just use the nursing tank tops with regular shirts and this works best.  The tops I bought are mostly hanging in the closet because you can see the nursing slits through the top layer!

If you want to nurse, make it easy for yourself by getting nursing friendly clothing for day and night. It is very important. Sometimes you will have to get very creative about what you wear depending on where you will be feeding your baby and how discreet you want to be about it. Make sure you have a nursing bra, and either a baby blanket or shawl type thing to cover yourself when you feed the baby if there isn't a mother's room. Nordstrom has great mothers room/bathroom to feed baby if you are at the mall. Also, you should feel free to feed your baby anywhere. It is important, healthy, and natural, so don't be embarassed or feel wierd.
