Jesse Haines was a very weak HOF choice, but certainly an above average pitcher, with 3 20 win years. Dizzy Dean was a sensation at his peak, and the best hurler in the circuit for a while:and his brother Paul had 2 good years too. Wild Bill Hallahan had a couple of big years. Bill Sherdel had some good seasons, and Paul Derringer was better later on with the Reds, but had his start here. Flint Rhem had a solid career and Tex Carleton was pretty good. Burleigh Grimes, a HOF'er, played for a lot of teams, and had some years here in the early 30's. Not all of these guys were on the team at the same time, but the overall depth of the rotation was a big factor in their transformation from perennial doormats before the 20's to a consistent force in this era.
